I read the review by Hope and the claims are just foolish. The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is open to everyone, residents and non-residents. We even allow equal access to our Internet computers and job center. The library also have a Reciprocal Borrowing agreement between Harrison, Clarks and Jefferson County Indiana. Louisville Public Library turned us down when we asked about an agreement with them. State law prohibits Indiana Public Library's from loaning materials to out of state individuals unless it is done to the Inner Library Loan System (which is handled by your local library). The $25 fee is only for Indiana residents that are not with-in the reciprocal borrowing agreement areas. Patrons occasionally purchase the $25 card membership to attend our instructor led computer training courses.

Just to be clear, no one stops anyone from walking into the library and questions where they are from.

We love going to the New Albany Floyd County library. It has a great childrens area and a large adult section upstairs. They have a number of childrens shows, crafts and story time. It is also a great place to check out almost any magazine or movie, which helps me save money. I wish the DVD selection was a little better.

I went there one time and just because I lived in Louisville they wouldn;t let me in the door. I couldn;t believe that they asked for my id. When they saw I was from louisville told me it was going to cost $25.00 to get in there.
