Our experience at Shanhai Lil was more then unsatisfactory! The whole menu was VERY expensive. We figured being at a chinese restaurant we would have a lot of left over food and leave full so 17 dollars for cashew chicken would be worth it! We were wrong! We left hungry and with NO leftovers! The food was very bland with hardly any taste. There was nothing on the table that you would usually need such as : salt and pepper, sugar packets for the tea, soy sauce.nothing! The waitress seemed irritated if we asked for anything and barely said a word to us and rarely came by the table. She was very unfriendly! We ordered the pot stickers and they were seven dollars for five very small tasteless pot stickers! It was very dark inside and slow. There was no ice cream or fortune cookies brought at the end which is something that most chinese places include and you would certaintly for that price think SOMETHING would be included! Would highly suggest not going there, the whole experience ended up being quite comical in the end! Also, we waited a very long time for our food even tho there was hardly anyone else in there eating! Our bill ended up being 70 dollars minus the tip for 3 people to eat a VERY small amount of tasteless chicken and tea!

Expensive-unusual--Basil Ginger Chicken was delicious--ditto for Beef Potstickers--very empty on a Saturday night with half the restaurant dark and no one at the bar not even a bartender--inapproriate music(Tennessee Waltz) but red walls, dark lighting nice for a date--waiter could have been more helpful
