I purchased a dishwasher from ace and I wish I had never walked into this place. they came and installed it and when I used it water flooded my kitchen. I called and after 3 days the guy came back out and said I guess the guy that hooked this up didnt know what he was doing, and I told him that would be you. He went oh, and guess what he still didnt know what he was doing. A man named Guy then came out and he wasn't any better but he did get the dishwasher working but he ripped my trim off my counter, and I am still waiting on him to come back and fix the trim. It took 3 trips to install the dishwasher for it to stop working again, it was under warranty but the warranty has ran out and I am sure it will quit soon and i will not go to this place, it may be cheaper but the rudeness and inexperience is not worth it.

I bought a heating element off of Ace Washer on October 17th, 2009. I am a single mother who's clothes dryer stopped working and I wasn't sure if this was the problem but it was probably the cheapest route to go in trying to fix the problem. I took the heating element home spent 4 hours taking the dryer apart and putting it back together and once I turned the dryer on the heating element was not the problem. I then asked my Fiance' if he could return the part, since it was not the problem, and get my refund to buy another clothes dryer. Upon him going to the store with the receipt and part in the original box he was told immediately...with salesperson pointing to the sign...there is a "big red sign behind the cash register that states 'ALL SALES ARE FINAL'". I went to this establishment thinking that I was dealing with a hometown company that worked with the members of it's community and provide honest business reliable service. However, once I called them the salesperson was also rude to me on the phone not letting me finish my sentence and telling me, again as he did my finance', that we have a policy that "there are NO REFUNDS and ALL SALES ARE FINAL". I explained to the young man that I had done business with them before in the past and didn't have the right part and I did receive my money back. He then told me there was no way that this happened that isn't their policy..he has worked there for 5 years...if I had the receipt from my previous transaction where I received the refund then this would prove that their policy in place wasn't true. I told him that I couldn't believe the way that he was speaking to me and he said I am not being rude I am stating to you what is policy and you keep restating the same thing. I asked to speak to a manager. Once she was on the phone I did notice that she had me on speaker phone and asked to be taken off of speaker phone. She said that it was her, her stepbrother Guy and the salesperson present and no customers in the store...and wouldn't honor my request. I began to tell her about the concern and problem that I was having and I believed the salesperson was rude to me. She said that she had been standing next to him and didn't believe that he was disrespectful or rude to me at anytime. I disagree with that. She said that the salesperson and other members of the staff were having some personal difficulties with family related illness and other things. I told her that I work at a local hospital and realize these issues however that this was no reason to take those feelings out on me and be rude. She then told me that If I did work in a hospital that I should understand these feelings and realize that "they" don't deal with this type of health issues on an everyday basis and I should be understanding. I'm sorry was I not the customer and how did this issue effect the return of merchandise that I bought from ACE WASHER. I still feel that this was no excuse for the type of treatment and bad customer service experience that I and my fiance were given by ACE WASHER. They offered me an in-store credit to use for other merchandise or towards a used appliance. I told her that I would take the refund but I would not do business with them again and I would not purchase a used item from them. I might had if they would have treated both me and my finance with respect and kindness...but not now. I also told the manager that I would spread the word to everyone that they are NOT an honest business within our community. the managers reply was "Okay...that's fine!" This tells me that they really don't care what type of customer service they deliver to their community. I could not use the part and I wanted a refund of my monies that I gave to them without apprehension on October 17, 2009. They would not honor a refund; only an in-store-credit to purchase something from them EXCLUSIVELY. I feel that it is very bad business to not use the mo-to "The Customer IS ALWAYS RIGHT" when speaking with a paying customer and to make individuals within their community feel as though they were mistreated and ill feelings of not wanting to come back for future business. This is very bad business for an Entrepreneur to have this attitude and try to keep a good reputation in tact. They seemed to feel that once you have bought the part that they can not re-sell the electrical part to anyone else or use it to fix appliance that they repair in their shop. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WON'T USE THEM AGAIN. IT IS SAD THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNERS, NOW PASSED AWAY, FAMILY HAS RESORTED TO THIS TYPE OF COMMUNITY CUSTOMER SERVICE BASE. I ALSO REPORTED THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

After 1 month and 1 week, my dishwasher is still not fixed. Wrong diagnosis after 4 no-shows, no-calls, and 3 afternoons taken off work for nothing. When I went to demand my $70.00 back they finally sent someone with me (different guy) to fix the motor right then. Guess what? Not the only problem they found the first time. Now I have to buy a new dishwasher + the price of the $70.00 service call just to give the wrong diagnosis 5 weeks ago + 3 half days off work for noone to show up or have the decency to call. What does all that equal? A HORRIBLE BUSINESS.

Not affiliated with the national Ace Hardware chain, Ace Washer Supplies actually does more than just sell supplies. They also sell several difference brands and types of appliances. They service appliances, too.

I used them for their parts selection. When my washing machine developed a problem, I discovered that I needed and obscure part that isn't available just anywhere. I was surprised when I called Ace and was not only able to get the part, but they didn't charge me very much either.

Their location is a wee bit off the beaten path at 8th and Hulman, but it's easy to get to off of 7th St., especially now that Hulman St. construction is done. It's a nice, clean location--and pretty large, too.

I have bought both appliances and parts from this store for over 25 years. I have never had any problem with salespeople or repairmen. Everyone is helpful and they never try to push you into buying something more than what you are looking

Pros: service and price

.

The parts we bought were way over-priced. Customer service was terrible. Sorry I don't remember details, I went a few years ago and have tried to block it out of my mind. Customer representative was disrespectful (I'm a female in a parts store, and he treated me like I'm an idiot), not at all knowledgeable but gave advice anyway, made me wait while he finished a personal conversation like I was unimportant.

Afterward, I found the parts at a few other places at significantly better prices where customer service was greatly improved. I don't think I experienced an off day--I believe that's probably normal business at Ace.

Pros: large supply of parts on hand

Cons: unreasonably high prices, awful customer service, little knowledge of proper repair, disrepectful of women
