Opened a booth at the new traderbakers at jasper IN. last month and didn't do too bad. This month I have had more stuff stolen then I sold, and one item was a big stack of books, there is no way they could have gotten them out without being seen. I am beginning to wonder if it is an inside job, or marking it down as the wrong booth. This is getting bad I cant make anything like that

I have been at Trader Bakers for about two weeks and have been robbed blind. I had about 25 rings go missing the first week, about 15 different things of makeup, a brand new dress with 62 price tag on it, 4 DVDs, one purse brand new with $50 price tag. I had jewelry locked up in a case, probably about $500 worth. They took one of my purses, busted the lock on the case and completely emptied out the whole case. After that, they must've went around and stuffed whatever else they could fit into it...makeup, body lotions, nail polishes, etc. I am going tomorrow and taking everything I own out of there. Never again. They need to install cameras or get some security. Two people working at most for a store with approx 150 vendors?

As a vendor I was very dissatisfied. I have been in Traders New Albany and Jeffersonville Indiana. Biggest problem was Theft. Owner is too cheap to use cameras and does not use enough workers to cover registers , and showcases, and have someone to walk around in store. Other vendors left mainly because of damage to their items and theft. One vendor was losing $150 a month in theft. Owner decided to build walls 8 ft high which can give theives cover to steal. One vendor had people off the street take an item of theirs out of the store and no employee stopped them to check. Items of $500 in value have walked out of store. They are also high on rent $135 for largest space and $45 a month for little showcases that could fit in Bernies showcases 5 times.Vendors also lose money because owner will not use enough workers to open showcases. They make shoppers wait and the shoppers end up leaving with you losing sales. Workers do not want to call vendors to make sell. It must be $50 or no call. I personally sold an item by calling a vendor which the manager at Traders refused to do. Traders also by staying open 2 hours later could increase sales for vendors by 30%, but it is an inconvience to owner and workers, so screw the vendors is their moto.If you have a concern , the manager will tell you to speak with owner, but they will not give you his number or address. The manager at Jeffersonville store made alot of mistakes giving sales to wrong vendors. Owner would take 8 months to repair doors and bathrooms are always a mess. Owner would make vendors replace lights over their booth that went out. Vendors would have to use their own money to make repairs. I would give Traders one star only because I can't pick less than one star. I hope before you start to get a booth , you strongly consider what I am saying. It will save you money and frustration.
