Generally, I don't eat fast food, but on a recent Saturday shopping trip I went to the Arby's located near the Factory Shops Outlet Stores.
The Arbys chain as a whole offers a wide selection of sandwiches and salads available either as a la carte selections or in a combo meal. It's easy to find something that fits your lifestyle - low carb, low fat, etc. Deli-style roast beef is their trademark sandwich, and prices overall are competitive with other fast-food chains (average meal cost ranges from $5.00 - $8.00). What is extraordinary about this chain is their emphasis on customer service.
The speed of service is extraordinary at this location. I went on a sunny, Saturday afternoon; in the midwest that translates to "shopping day" for many people. My wait in line, from the time I entered to the time I received my order, was less than 3 minutes, despite having two groups in front of me. I watched the drive-thru lane as I ate, and noted the flow of customers moving steadily through. This is the kind of service that puts the "fast" into the term, "fast food."
As I sat in the restaurant, I also noted the manager and an employee interacting with customers - checking to be sure that everything was all right, bussing tables to allow customers more time for chatting, etc.
The restaurant itself is very neat and clean, has facilities for handicapped individuals, and offers both booths and tables for seating. One section is slightly raised, and offers some privacy for family get-togethers. The entire facility is either smoke-free or has extraordinarily good ventilation.
The location itself is easy to access. It is just east of I-69 on SR 32. There are two large parking areas and a drive-thru lane. If you're going to or from Ball State University, Fort Wayne or Indianapolis and need to plan a food stop, the Arby's at Daleville would be a good choice for you.
PROS: Good service, food quality good, wide selection, easy to access from highwa
CONS: It's still fast food; those seeking "home cooking" need not stop.
