One month they quoted a test for 380.00 and 9 months later the same test cost 155.00 and also included an x-ray of internal organs. Front desk is insensitive, received different price quotes for same test, over medicate, questionable charging practices, so caution when going here for anything serious other than nail clippings. We were warned. Will NEVER use them again.

This is the very best Vet we have ever been too. We used to use Kryder's (whata joke). Dr Hoeffler performed a magnificent ear cropping on our great dane male Judge. I have had this procedure performed many times, but none were as clean, and as perfect like what I received at Parrett Veterinary!! The staff is very kind, and well educated in their field. What else could you ask for!!! ***** FIVE STARS

Ok the prices there are only slightly better than the vets in the South Bend area, I say this because really the only thing that I find is cheaper is their office call fee. I have to agree that since they moved to the new building service has severely declined. The staff there, including the vets themselves, are condescending and rude more than not but they truly do have your pets best interest at heart. Dr Hoeffler is very abrasive and not great with pet owners but he TRULY loves the pets. Overall they are better priced than most vets, and the walk-in availability is very nice!

I live in the Chicago suburbs but my wife comes from South Bend and has been a customer at Parrett's for many years. We have two dogs, four cats and a rabbit. When it is time for vaccine shots we save about $200 on the visit by bringing our dogs and cats at the same time, compared to what we would pay here. That is counting the gas from driving there.
Since they moved to the current building, service has gone down a little, and not all vets are good and have good bed-side manners. I would highly suggest to ask for Dr. Douglas A. Hoeffler. He is very good, but more than that, he is passionate and dedicated about helping the animals and their owners, and is very kind to all.
To finish, the disgruntled reviews about Parrett's are well founded, but slightly misplaced. Vets are human people just like us, and can have bad days. Same with their helping staff. Even if a vet is rude to you, don't forget that they almost always have the best interest in your animal. After all, they normally did not become vets if they wanted to make money; they became vets become because they loved animals and wanted to help them. If they feel, mistakenly or not, that you mistreated your animal, they may be inclined to teach you better manners. And don't forget that even though you may be good towards animals, there are a lot of people out there that treat their animals like nothing more than a toy to be disposed of after a while. And believe me, that is one of the things vets hate the most. You should ask them how many people want to have their animal euthanized after they decided they were tired of taking care of it.
So when you go there, bring a smile, be understanding and show that you care for your pets. You will certainly be rewarded. If if they have a bad day or if you don't like the vet that is helping you, go for Dr. Hoeffler the next time. It is not worth paying more somewhere else when you can have one of the best at Parrett's.

I take all of my animals there. They are good to them and treat them the way any animal should be treated. I drive there from South Bend, but it is worth it. They understand your concern and call you after your pets surgery to let you know that they are okay. Its relieving for the rest of the night knowing your pet is okay. They are not the fastest especially for walk-ins, but they are not ridiculously slow either. Great prices. They don't overcharge like the vets in South Bend and Mishawaka do.

I have been going to this vet for many years and since they have gone into the new building the prices have become the same or higher than places in Mishawaka and Granger.
The nice thing about this Clinic is you don't need an appointment. Unless you make several calls to check prices you will probably save money here.
A nice place to take your dog for fun is Camp K9 at 1817 Elder Rd. in Mishawaka. My dogs love it there.

It been a few years.. but when i took my pet there they were very good with him. only bad thing is my dog barks alot. It was October and raining and he started barking and i was asked to wait outside with him and listen for our name on the PA. thing is i could have sat in the car but then wouldnt be able to hear. or stand outside in the rain and get drenched. well after 2 hours my son went to see about our turn and they had forgotten about us since we were not inside. it took 4 hours to have my pet seen... i was disappointed. but the price is right.

I took my cat there to get spaded..They told me to call back in the evening to check on her..I called back and got there answering service, who had no information on my cat...I picked her up on Saturday and my poor baby was in her crate with the towels I put in all peed up..I was very disappointed with there services. Sure there cheap but then again you get what you pay for....I took her to our regular vet to have her stitches removed the following week. I was told by others that they had the same problem with there services. I will never take another animal there!

We drive thirty miles to take our pets: dogs, cats, and guinea pigs to see Dr. Hoeffler. Everyone at the clinic is very friendly and so willing to take the time to explain everything to you regarding your pet. I always feel like a better educated pet owner when I leave. Dr. Hoeffler has even neutered one of our guinea pigs! Who knew! When it was time to put down one of our beloved dogs, they were so kind and compassionate. They take care of you like family. I can't see enough good about this place!

We have been taking our pets to Parrett's for years and have always been happy with the service and prices they've provided. They have a friendly staff and were very compassionate when we had to have a pet euthanised. I would definitely recommend Parrett's to anyone.

Parrett Veterinary Clinic is wonderful! The clinic is always clean and neat and the staff is wonderful not only to the animal 'patients' but to their owners as well. They are one of the few vet offices in the area to accept 'unusual' pets as clients. My daughter takes her guinea pig up there to be seen for regular check ups and to have his nails clipped also. The price is so cheap..only $7.00 for check up and nail clipping! The Drs and staff are sooo caring towards the animals and really are concerned..not just treating them as numbers and hustling them through. They take the time to answer any and all questions you have and you never feel 'rushed' to get out of the office. I would recommend them to everyone who has pets.
