Had to take my dog to the clinic today to have her put down. Dr. Glidewell and his assistant Brittni were the best! He explained everything to us and they were so comforting and understanding! I will change and use this vet for my other dog. Wish I would have found this vet sooner!! He detected things in my dog that my other did not detect!! This clinic has my recommendation!! Thank you guys so much!!!

We had a rabbit that was sick and took it in for an appointment. The Dr was so sad and gentle as he explained she had cancer and would pass soon. My four children were heartbroken. He said we could take her home so we could decide if we would put her to sleep. We had the weekend to love and say goodbye to her. The children agreed the best thing to do would be to put her to sleep. As left alone she would have begun to bleed to death.
When we brought her back in he let us stay in the room as he put her to sleep. It was as peaceful and loving an event as it possibly could have been. I had asked about cost because we really didn't have much money. To my amazement they didn't charge us for the first visit or to put her to sleep. And then we even received a sympathy card signed by the Dr and his staff!!!
I can not be more appreciative, nor can I recommend them enough!

waynedale animal clinic has been taking care of my furbabies since we got them. my lab mix had a prolapsed uterus and we brought her in and they did her surgury that day! they were great and they know our pups and take care of them well! my dogs actually get very excited to go there because they know they will get loved on and get a treat at the end! dr glidewell is great as well and explains everything very thoroughly. i have had nothing but great experiences with this clinic (and we have made many visits, fixing both of my girls, broken nail, prolapsed uterus, and regular yearly shots). :)

Ya just can't "dog" on our Dr. Glidewell. We had an18 lb ,basically wild, barn cat that Dr. Glidewell kept alive for 18 years. He had at least 9 lives just because we had him into the clinic at the first sign of problems (eg, worms, fleas, infections from cat fights, arthritis, shot by a bb gun, run over by a car, etc.) That cat even bit him and Dr. Glidewell just laughed. Then there is my Poodle, who just had a serious bout with prostititous. Dr. Glidewell found the correct antibiotic. If I would have just followed the advise of the animal hospital, I may not have my dog. My suggestion, no matter who your vet is, if you don't understand--keep asking, get another opinion if you think it isn't right, research it yourself, and most importantly, don't hesitate to call him back. At Glidewell's they would rather you call--I do and have never been made to feel stupid or regreted calling.

To Jennifer: I send my sympathy for loosing your pet, the grief process is always difficult whether it be human or animal. Some questions. What were you doing for your pet before you decided to seek medical attention? Anyone who has a pet and is responsible, knows that every animal needs to see the doctor at least once a year, just like people. Why wait 3 yrs? Who gave the annual rabies vaccine? Why did you have a pet if you were not willing to take responsibility for proper care? With all the ads about heart worm out, where were you?

As to the Waynedale Animal Clinic, they have given excellent care for my "children." The staff and Dr. Glidewell are very informative, they always make sure that the owners know what is involved with every treatment (good and bad). They are the kindest, gentilest professionals I ever want for the care of my pets, who are my children. Dr. Glidewell has cared for all of my pets since the '70s, and I hope he never retires!

So please think long and hard before you even consider obtaining another pet, because it is obvious that you do not understand what it takes to be a responislbe parent. My hope is that you yourself have not bred because humans need just as much care as animals.

I'm so sorry to hear that Calbert died, but really, what dog owner doesn't know that heartworm is serious and that you need to treat them to prevent it?

Anyhow, I have used Dr glidewell for my entire adult life, and wouldn't trade his care for the world. He saved my dog when she started having seizures,he helped us figure out what was causing them and stopped them, he was so gentle and caring when breaking the news to us that she had cancer, and he scheduled a special appointment after hours for when we had to put our girl down. He has taken care of our boy dogs for their whole life and they are getting up there in years, I worry for the day when they are no longer with us, but I know that Dr Glidewell will be the one that is there to help us when it does happen.

Why did your 3 year old dog have heart worms? Why have you not prevented that over the past 3 years. Heartworms can kill a dog.

I have used Wayndale exclusively for 10 years.. They are the best.

Maybe you waited too long.

I made the mistake of listening and trusting the vet at this facility. In doing so, I feel like I participated in the death of my dog. I was not properly informed of general maintenance and medicines needed for my dog to keep him safe. I felt that the money I was providing to the clinic was the top priority; my dog was an afterthought. I understand that a business needs money to run, however, it is very disappointing and unacceptable for profits over safety of the animal to be the company??s goal. I would never recommend this vet to anyone who values their animal.

The vet told me a month and ago my three-year old dog had heart worms. I was told that my dog, Calbert, needed to take 2 weeks of pills which I started him on immediately. At the end of the two weeks, I had to take Calbert to get a set of two injections on back to back days. I was not informed of the risks of the procedures, nor was I told of the seriousness of the medications being used or the condition that Calbert had. I was concerned about Calbert after having the injections. The following exchange took place:

Me: Can I take Calbert for a jog in two days?

Vet: Sure? Well, better not jog him for a couple weeks. I had a patient once that had this treatment and keeled over from only running around the house four times. I ended up being able to save the patient when a client brought him in here.

Me: Ok, when is it ok to walk him?

Vet: You better wait 2 days.

The vet never told me or led me to believe that Calbert was going to die that week.

I am not a vet; I do not know what a vet knows. I relied on a trained professional to properly inform me of all the dangers to expect. I relied on a trained professional who knows more than me to take pride in his profession. I relied on a trained professional to care about the life he had under his supervision. When I take my car in to get serviced, I rely on the trained professionals at the car shop to diagnose and treat my car??s problems. More care should be taken with the life of a breathing animal than a car.

I am not saying that this vet??s license should be stripped from him, nor am I saying that he is solely responsible for the death of my dog. I am also not saying that this vet intentionally killed Calbert. What I am saying is that I wish that I would have had the opportunity to read this post before I ever chose to trust the life of my dog with this vet.

Dr. G and his staff are the most caring people. He has taken care of my now 14 yr. old beagle for 12 yrs. and has fit her in on many emergency occassions. I truly believe she acts like an 8 yr. old because of him:) I still travel from Chicago for her visits.

I have gone to this clinic with my pets for more than twenty years now. I find the staff friendly and polite. The vet, Dr. Glidewell goes above and beyond and is truley a caring individual.
