There is no reading room at Books Unlimited... sorry, you went to the wrong store and left a review that is not related to this store.

First of all, this is one of the oldest bookstores in the state. Aways an adventure, with an inventory that changes like the weather here in Hoosier country.

If you're looking for a reading room, with a coffee shop, tables of new releases, and free "wifi"... this is not the store for you. Try one of those yuppie "bookstores" found in or near your favorite mall.

However, if you are a book collector, looking for a REAL used bookstore with very reasonable prices, featuring antique, hard to find or out-of-print books.... you have just found your new favorite hangout.

Family owned and operated for decades!!! I'm 48 and used to buy comic books here as a kid.

Books Unlimited is a smallish bookstore on Washington Street with a (to put it generously) plain storefront. But once you step through its doorway, you'll find a plethora of old, gently-used books, with surprises crammed up to the rafters.

Old children's picture books? You bet. Vintage X-Men comics? Check. School yearbooks from days gone by? A-poppin'. Tips on raising minks for fun and profit? Hey, I've seen it.

The store's densely-packed stock is updated with surprising frequency, and I'm particularly fond of exploring its "Indiana" section -- which features the city's largest and most varied collection of old state-related literature. Prices are always reasonable, and usually lower than you'd expect.

Walk in looking for a specific title, and you might be disappointed. But if you enter with an open mind and a willingness to explore, Books Unlimited is an excellent way to pass an afternoon.

(Oh, and incidentally: there is no glass-doored reading room -- silent, or otherwise.)

I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I wasted a trip to their store by returning empty handed. Starting from their exteriors everything is worth not mentioning about this store. They dont have as many books as their competitors in the vicinity have got. I would rather go to those places even though they charge you more. I once called you these people to enquire about the availability of a novel, they said that it will be available anytime but when I went to pick it put all the copies were gone. They could have atleast given some reliable information.

As I said, they are not extraordinary, but just ordinary. Their pricing, staff, store etc everything is something that you would have seen somewhere or the other. There is no special reason why you should be going to their store. Their only attraction is their reading room where there is absolute silence behind glass doors but that is something I do not like.
