Don't Go!
by Pepper P.
My experience with Fall Creek Family Medicine has been horrible. It started with the person who scheduled the appointment. She maintained a lethargic attitude while not listening to a word I said about the times/days I could see the doctor. This was a warning I should have heeded.
When I arrived for my first appointment, the receptionist barely looked me in the eye, threw some paperwork at me and asked me to have a seat. I was called back without much wait, but the girl weighing me, taking my temperature, blood pressure, etc. said about two words to me during the entire process. She didn't share my blood pressure reading and spent the entire time pointing to indicate what she wanted me to do next. Dr. Pallekonda was okay. Not the greatest doctor I'd ever been to, but he did seem to be leading me in the right direction based on my symptoms. However, when the visit was over, he took me to the lab area for a blood draw and simply walked away. There was absolutely no closure to the visit whatsoever. When I checked out, the gal sitting at the desk very rudely pointed out that she circled the information at the bottom of the page for a reason and that reason was that I complete the info. A better way? Perhaps she could have suggested that I complete the info without the harsh prelude that I didn't follow her directions.
The following evening I received a call from one of the nurses. She told me that the doctor wanted her to contact me. He wanted to call in some thyroid medication for me. Uh, does this mean I have hypothyroidism? Oh, and by the way, the nurse goes on, you're borderline diabetic. Come back in four to six weeks. Umm . . . excuse me? Are you going to be a little more forthecoming about what all of this means? Well, my friends, the answer is no. She had no intention of proactively offering any more information than she did. Essentially, they threw some Synthroid at me and directed me to call them later.
Not having taken down my cholesterol readings during the nurse phone call on Friday, I called back today to get those. I kindly told the nurse I didn't receive that information. Her response? "Yes you did. I gave them to you, remember?" Now, keep in mind that one of the horrible symptoms of hypothyroidism is memory loss and feeling foggy. Okay, I say she didn't give me the info because I wrote everything else down and made a mental note that I didn't get my cholesterol readings. But even if I had, she should have said, oh, I gave them to you, but I'm happy to give those to you again or something akin. Bottom line? If you're looking for a relationship with your doctor and one where he/she and the entire staff treats you with dignitiy and respect, I highly suggest you do not stop at Fall Creek Family Medicine. I will not be going back. When the experience is this bad from beginning to end, I know I needn't waste anymore time and money here. My health is too important.

very pleased

I have been going to Dr Newton for a few years now. I can't even get through one magazine article before they call me back. The staff is great. I'm a tough patient to figure out but they take the necessary time and don't rush me through or throw different medications at me hoping one does the trick. I have been to several doctors and many of them I would never see again. I keep going back to Dr Newton.

Over 20 years of satisfaction
by Wanda S.
I have been going to Fall Creek Family Medicine for over 20 years. This is the 3rd office location since I began going and I have followed Dr. Platz to each location. He is a caring Dr., who takes the time to listen to what you are saying. He has helped my family through the common cold to more serious illnesses. He was even available to answer questions after referring me to specialist that left me confused. I have never had a problem getting an appointment when I needed it. I have had to wait, but rarely, and the staff apologized and explained the reason for the wait. Very friendly & helpful staff. I would recommend them to anyone

quick appointments
by Diana M.
I will have to disagree with this person. I have been going to Fall Creek Family Medicine for about thirteen years. Very few times have I had a real long wait, and never over 15 or 20 minutes. Even if I call to get a quick appointment because I feel bad. I drive quite a few miles due to changing office addresses over the years. But it's because I feel very confident in the doctors. Dr. Platz has the best bed side manner, and if more doctors took the time and concern that he has, not rushing; and answering all your questions and making you feel that you are not rushed in and rushed out. And when you are not feeling well that is very important.

I have been going to Fall Creek Family Medicine for a couple years now. When I am feeling ill they are always quick to get me in for an appointment, but I usually have to wait for nearly an hour once I get there to see the doctor. The nurses are very nice and very friendly! I feel like I can trust their expertise and that I am confident in the care they provide.
