Allergy Serum was ordered without my consent and they will not refund me!

by Lisa B.

Their website says, "We strive to go the extra mile for our clients and their pets!" NO THEY DO NOT! Allergy meds were ordered without my consent and when my husband picked the dog up from the kennel, he unknowingly paid for it. Now they are refusing to refund our money ($150.00). They have no documentation that I ordered the serum. I have been politely discussing this with the clinic for 2 months without much of a response. NOW, they tell me Dr. Cawood needs to be involved. Why wasn't he involved 2 months ago? I was told yesterday they would call me back....never received that call and when I called them again, they had never intended to give me a courtesy call to inform me that Dr. Cawood was on vacation! Poor customer service! In the 2 months that this has been going on, they have not offered to make the situation right! We have been involved with this clinic for at least 6 years. I have always wondered how my pet was treated behind the scenes and in the kennel. Now I have a better idea. So disappointed and frustrated with this situation.

Once was blind, but now he sees!

by paul z.

My wife and I have 2 dogs, a male boston terrier (Ari) and a male english bulldog (Duke). Both had allergic reactions to their first set of vaccines as a puppy, the bullie went blind and the boston became swollen. We treated the boston at the emergency clinic (care there was adequate. It's emergency care, which means they will treat the animal to enough health to get to the vet). Dr Cawood at ICVH treated Duke with exceptional skill. We visited 1-2 times a week for 6 months and Duke can see again! It was very scary dealing with such a severe issue, but everyone at ICVH treated us with great sympathy and care. We couldn't recommend a better veterinary hospital. They are professional and curtious.

NEVER AGAIN!

by Abby L.

NEVER AGAIN!
I took my 6 yr. old lab to the Indian Creek Vet Hosp. for neutering. seen the doc. for this apt. less than 2 mins. said he would cut out a cyst while my dog was under for his surgery, never did. I paid $20.00 for an assistant to drain it. lasted a day and the swelling was back.
I had asked the assistant, why the doc. did not cut the cyst as promised. got no answer from her or anyone else for that matter.
assistant that explained the after care, was not specific enough about the whole deal. after having 2 male cats and a male lab neutered at the spay & neuter clinic on Broadway, I feel I received better service there.
I picked up my 6 yr old from ICVH on Friday after the surgery at 3:30 pm, by 5:00 pm, he was swollen like a baseball! I tried to call the ICVH (who has at least 3 Vets) got no answer. answering machine referred me to the emergency vet on Stellhorn/Maplecrest. Monday morning, called ICVH again, got the same answer as the emergency vet. use ice. did not get a "bring him in and we'll look at him". would have taken 2 minutes to give me an antibiotic. 10 days later, for his check up-stitches removal, I get a "he is in server pain!" "we'll give him an antibiotic and use bag balm".
one last thing I was displeased about. the neuter was suppose to cost me $70.00. final cost, $138.00. They fail to tell you it's $12.00 for a plastic collar to keep them from digging. my dog didnt need it. he is very well behaved and trained.
every time you call there, you are put on hold. my opinion...they are too busy. and to read these other reviews that say how they love this hosp.....unbelievable! I think it's a money racket without enough help! & too many clients.
terrible service! what would have taken minutes, lasted over 10 days. my dog suffered because of their negligence.

Beware of Boarding

by Kelly M.

They may be a good animal hospital but I will never use them again for boarding. We recently moved to the area and had our 2 dogs there for 2 weeks. 1 came home with fur missing over her eye and the other lost 10 lbs. She is so bony it is disgusting. She was very lean and fit before entering their facility. They never called to say she wasn't eating and when I called they always said the dogs were doing well. When I visited I was treated by the office staff like I was an inconvenience. I was also told they would not bathe the dogs upon pickup. The only nice thing I can say is that there was 1 younger girl that said she was trying to take care of them when she was there. She was very sweet and helpful.

Best Vet in Fort Wayne area

by Nick M.

I have two Greyhounds and a Whippet. My wife and I have had some very negative experiences with a number of vets. That is, until Dr. Cahwood. He has a great sense of humor and is gentle and kind with my hounds (and the owners too). He makes complicated issues understandable thus reducing stress. My Greys are getting older and the time is nearing for the end of their lives. I know when that time comes that there is not a better man to entrust to help us help our girls cross over.

ICVH

by Steve B.

We have had nothing but great service and a great expeirence. Dr Cawood is a very caring vet and takes the time to answer any of our questions. We take all three of our dogs there and all three of our ferrets. We also have boarded one of our dogs there who is very timid and they do a great job with him. Thanks

Steve and Colleen

Talented vets with BIG hearts!

by Amanda A.

I just moved into the Ft. wayne locale, leaving behind my trusted vet. Through working with a local pet rescue, I received multiple recommendations for Indian Creek. I was not disappointed. I have since taken all 3 of my dogs, 3 out of 4 of my own cats there, and had several spay/neuter surgeries and minor injury care performed on many of my foster cats, which they discount considerably. Not only are they thorough in their diagnostics, but also in their explanation of the condition itself, treatment options (including cost), and what to expect. I am difficult to impress, but I have no reservations about recommending them after the excellent service I continue to receive... and I'm sure if the foster pets they've helped me to place could talk, they'd recommend them, too!

PROS: Excellent, reasonably-priced care for ALL pets, even those without homes.
CONS: ???

Compassionate care!

by Deborah P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,693

Dr. Steven Cawood is one of the most compassionate veterinarians I have ever met! He works a lot with the ASPCA and tackles pro-bono cases that seem hopeless. He takes the time with you and your pet, providing a level of comfort that is beyond compare.
