My fiance and I just took our 3 month old weimaraner to Indian Creek today and we were VERY impressed. I've just relocated here from Miami, FL and let me tell you that the prices at Indian Creek are MUCH MUCH more affordable than any other place that I've been. The vet was very nice, knowledgeable and caring. She didn't push anything additional other than what we were bringing our dog in for. $12 for a shot is absolutely wonderful. I've been paying $50+ for shots for years and couldn't believe it when the tech said the total was $12!!! I HIGHLY reccommend this place. It's clean, fresh, new, and inviting. We will be bringing our pets here for years to come.

When I read the reviews I had a comfortable feeling that this vet was a good choice to take my new pup. I am glad I went with my gut. This place is GREAT! Not only do they explain things, but they take their time to get to know you and not just push product or procedure. I have been back several times now and won't go anywhere else. I have had several vets in the past with other dogs, but none have been as compassionate as Indian Creek. And you can tell it's NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. Check prices, you'll see.

We took a two-year old hamster in to Dr Cawood. I know that hamsters have about a 2 year lifespan but when your 6 year old asks you to get help it is hard to turn them down. Dr Cawood examined the hamster and gave his recommendation that we leave her as is. This really comforted my daughter. We were not charged for the visit. I really appreciated Dr Cawood's compassion and generosity.

Be afraid, be very afraid!!!
Our beautiful healthy 5 year old labradoddle went in for knee surgery and within 36 hours she was dead!!! We live 2 hours away and brought her to Dr. Caywood because we trusted him from living in Fort Wayne before---she would have been better off if we had done nothing-however, we were convinced that the surgery was necessary and she should recover beautifully. Now, he has our $800.00, we have NO dog and there is no sign of caring from he or his staff-in fact, when our vet in Indianapolis called to let him know she passed, they were very surprised he did not ask question..REAL CARING!!!--Never again will I trust that man with any of my pets. She had labwork done before surgery and some numbers were questionable. Should this procedure have been preformed despite the low numbers in her lab work??? I think not---It is all about the money!!!!!

you people keep talking about how wonderful Dr. Cawood is, do you realize you took your pet to what you called the "emergency" vet first!? lol...truely funny. anybody with common sense knows the "Emergency" anything is going to be 3 x's as much! hilarious.
second of all, he will do any procedure to get your money. deep down inside, ask him if he really cares if your pet dies in his hands. doesnt matter to him. he still gets your money.
just like doing a simple neuter on an elder dog. one vet won't do it because he/she's over weight. not Dr. Cawood. makes no difference with complications. it's all on the owner if the dog dies on the table. you're just paying him for what he says he'll do for you.
THIS OFFICE IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY

Referred here by a friend who takes their animal here for a broken leg on my 6 month old German Sheperd. Was quoted over $2000.00 at "specialty" hospital!!! Dr. Cawood was great and fixed her up with a plate and screws (same thing they were going to do at the emergency clinic) for less than half that! She is now running around like nothing ever happened. Thank you for giving here achance. We love her dearly and this place made it possible.

I took my dog there after being at the NIVES emergency Hospital where they charged me over 500.00 to do almost nothing and find nothing else on top of it!! Dr. Cawood was kind enough to fit us in that day, explain our dogs problem give us options and recommendations, and fixed her up for an awesome price. Best , most caring service I have ever received from a vet in my life! I live almost 45 minutes from them but won't go anywhere else for my pets now.

Their website says, "We strive to go the extra mile for our clients and their pets!" NO THEY DO NOT! Allergy meds were ordered without my consent and when my husband picked the dog up from the kennel, he unknowingly paid for it. Now they are refusing to refund our money ($150.00). They have no documentation that I ordered the serum. I have been politely discussing this with the clinic for 2 months without much of a response. NOW, they tell me Dr. Cawood needs to be involved. Why wasn't he involved 2 months ago? I was told yesterday they would call me back....never received that call and when I called them again, they had never intended to give me a courtesy call to inform me that Dr. Cawood was on vacation! Poor customer service! In the 2 months that this has been going on, they have not offered to make the situation right! We have been involved with this clinic for at least 6 years. I have always wondered how my pet was treated behind the scenes and in the kennel. Now I have a better idea. So disappointed and frustrated with this situation.

My wife and I have 2 dogs, a male boston terrier (Ari) and a male english bulldog (Duke). Both had allergic reactions to their first set of vaccines as a puppy, the bullie went blind and the boston became swollen. We treated the boston at the emergency clinic (care there was adequate. It's emergency care, which means they will treat the animal to enough health to get to the vet). Dr Cawood at ICVH treated Duke with exceptional skill. We visited 1-2 times a week for 6 months and Duke can see again! It was very scary dealing with such a severe issue, but everyone at ICVH treated us with great sympathy and care. We couldn't recommend a better veterinary hospital. They are professional and curtious.

They may be a good animal hospital but I will never use them again for boarding. We recently moved to the area and had our 2 dogs there for 2 weeks. 1 came home with fur missing over her eye and the other lost 10 lbs. She is so bony it is disgusting. She was very lean and fit before entering their facility. They never called to say she wasn't eating and when I called they always said the dogs were doing well. When I visited I was treated by the office staff like I was an inconvenience. I was also told they would not bathe the dogs upon pickup. The only nice thing I can say is that there was 1 younger girl that said she was trying to take care of them when she was there. She was very sweet and helpful.

I have two Greyhounds and a Whippet. My wife and I have had some very negative experiences with a number of vets. That is, until Dr. Cahwood. He has a great sense of humor and is gentle and kind with my hounds (and the owners too). He makes complicated issues understandable thus reducing stress. My Greys are getting older and the time is nearing for the end of their lives. I know when that time comes that there is not a better man to entrust to help us help our girls cross over.

We have had nothing but great service and a great expeirence. Dr Cawood is a very caring vet and takes the time to answer any of our questions. We take all three of our dogs there and all three of our ferrets. We also have boarded one of our dogs there who is very timid and they do a great job with him. Thanks

I just moved into the Ft. wayne locale, leaving behind my trusted vet. Through working with a local pet rescue, I received multiple recommendations for Indian Creek. I was not disappointed. I have since taken all 3 of my dogs, 3 out of 4 of my own cats there, and had several spay/neuter surgeries and minor injury care performed on many of my foster cats, which they discount considerably. Not only are they thorough in their diagnostics, but also in their explanation of the condition itself, treatment options (including cost), and what to expect. I am difficult to impress, but I have no reservations about recommending them after the excellent service I continue to receive... and I'm sure if the foster pets they've helped me to place could talk, they'd recommend them, too!

PROS: Excellent, reasonably-priced care for ALL pets, even those without homes.
CONS: ???

Dr. Steven Cawood is one of the most compassionate veterinarians I have ever met! He works a lot with the ASPCA and tackles pro-bono cases that seem hopeless. He takes the time with you and your pet, providing a level of comfort that is beyond compare.

Indian Creek Veterinary Hospital offers a wide variety of service for your pets healthcare needs. A grooming service and kennel is also located on the property. Appointments are honored at their scheduled time and the facility is first rate.
