.

I decided to rent with Tempo, only to later wish I hadn't signed a lease. I should have been suspicious from the start when the President Joanne didn't arrive on time for our apartment showing. After patiently waiting for almost an HOUR for her, I called the office and got the message that Joanne was unapologetically late (my cell phone number was on file) Once the tour began I was abashed at the manner with which she openly criticized the living style of the current tenants. The tenants had done nothing out of the ordinary, but Joanne felt it necessary to make snide comments. Ohh yeah, I forgot to mention that the tenants didn't really seem to expect the tour.

But..the property was great so I chose to ignore her unprofessional nature.

That was just the beginning...

My old lease was scheduled to end 17 days before the default date on the new Tempo lease. Because I didn't want to be homeless for over two weeks I spoke with Joanne about moving up the date. She said it was impossible to do at that point, but "would do EVERYTHING IN HER POWER to try to help move up our move in date once the former residents decided when they would move out." She also promised to contact the residents and ask them herself.. This never happened.
In fact, during each one of the 5 times I have called Tempo to attempt to fulfill Joanne's promise, I have been told that they couldn't ask the tenants to move early (exactly contrary to Joanne's explicit promise) and lied to by lower level employees about "government policies" that don't exist (I'm a law student). On the most recent call I attempted to schedule my move in time earlier in the day on my scheduled lease start date and was informed that they could not schedule me in before 3pm, because my lease started at 2pm. They wouldn't even budge an HOUR after promising me their best to adjust for 17 DAYS. If I wasn't bound by a lease agreement..Be warned
