Kids Ink Children's Bookstores is Grandmother's #1 source

by Judy J.

As a new grandmother I find wonderful items for my grandchildren. Some new and modern and fun; and some old classics that were around for my kids, even for me, when I was little. This little bookstore is big on selection and service. It is great for non-book gifts, as well.

Kids Ink Children's Bookstores is a Step Back in Time!

by Daisy R.

This is an independent bookstore which is rare in retail. I liked the friendly staff and incredible selection. Just tell the staff the age of the child you are shopping for and they'll have lots of ideas!

Quirky Little Bookstore!

by Nadia G.

This is my favorite bookstore! Walking into Kids Ink is like stepping back into the past - into a time when people really smiled at you and truly cared about what you needed. Their quality and selections are fantastically broad, and their staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I never feel rushed or like I have to make my book decisions quickly. Love this little store and highly recommend trying them out!!!

Kids Ink Children's Bookstores is so rare

by Mab G.

I ran by the bookstore with my 2 year old son to pick out a birthday gift and as they were wrapping it, one of the shopgirls looked up at me and said "Oh, you must be Spencer's mom". She remembered my son from the Storyhour a few weeks ago. She even asked him how he liked the robot book he'd picked out. It's so rare to even get a smile from a shop clerk these days, let alone to have someone remember you, your children what they like and what they read. My son loves playing at the train table and we both love getting to pick out his bedtime books together (the cupcake place next door is an added bonus!). Their prices are very fair and I've never once been able to stump the staff on finding "Oh, you know, that book about the cow....it had an orange cover..... ". They always know what I'm talking about.

Great Books ... with an attitude.

by Julia M.

I was very impressed with the selection and variety of children's books here. My children had no problems finding many treasures they wanted to purchase. We shop often at Borders, so the prices were a little steep but I felt good about supporting a small business. The only issue I have with Kids Ink Indianapolis is the snobby attitude of the sales clerks. I can only assume it was because I was not dressed expensively, as they treated other customers present with far superior service and gratitude. Unfortunately, this will probably deter me from shopping there again. Borders may be corporate, but at least they understand to be greatful, especially in a challenging economy, for customers walking in and buying something that could be attained freely at the public library.

i have looked at taking our kids here for story time, we have not had a chance to go but have been to the store, they have a very nice play area and a great selection and pricing of kids books, i was looking for a hard to find book and the staff was very helpful in locating the book for us.

love this store

by Andy M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,795

I love this little bookstore! It's in Rocky Ripple area so it's not something most people just stumble upon, but once you have been there, you just have to go back. It's a throwback to before the mega super stores ruled the earth. Small, friendly neighborhood bookshop for kids. It's great!

Cool Kids Store

by Anonymous

You and your children will love the book selection at Kids Ink.
They have story time & children's activities available each month.

You will enjoy the staff, who are always a step away waiting to help you.

You can sit and enjoy a book with your children.

Prices are reasonable.

Parking is "mall style".

Wonderful helpful staff, great selection

by Angela B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,959

This is nestled in with other shops at the 52nd/Illinois corner. They have a great selection of children's books, a very knowledgeable staff (most formerly or in training to be a teacher, childcare provider, etc.). Nice gift selections, and can help you out if you have no clue what would be a good gift for say, a 9 year old boy who doesn't like sports, or some other anomaly. :)
