I went to toumas because they had the specific bridemaids dresses i wanted. When we arrived they were great really nice and very helpful. We ordered the dresses and i came back a few weeks later to pick out a wedding dress. Again very nice and helpful gave me 10 percent discount on all dresses. I received a phonecall that the bridesmaids dresses were in and excitedly went to the store and everyone tried on the dresses. My 9 yr olds dress was so big and then we noticed the colors of the dresses were off 4 were one shade and 2 were another shade. I told the owner she said "oh no they are same color" So i waited until I could get the whole bridal party there and compare that way. We all got there for alterations and again I mentioned the shades were off. But again I was told they were not. She looked at the tags and said they all same they are all chocolate. By this time i am furiated and there was like 5 weeks til the wedding. We got up to counter after the alterations were done and just my 9 yr olds dress was $77 dollars for the alteration? Total alteration on just 4 of the dresses was $259 I was mad the dress was barely over 100 dollars and alterations were outrageous!!! Alterations were never discusses but paper work said reasonable alterations and over half the cost of the dress its self is not reasonable. Finally a couple weeks later we got ahold of the owners son and he admitted the colors of the dresses were definitly off. At this point it was way too late to order new dresses and felt alterations should be waved since this is a big inconvenience for me and i am now just stuck well they offered us a discount on alterations and honestly with the time frame had no choice but to pay it. The customer service after all the dresses were paid for and it came down to alterations was horrible!!! They have gotten better after i took thier deal with the alterations but they dont want to admit thier mistakes until its way too late to fix the problem! I ordered all the dresses at the same time and same colors and thats what I should of got. They charge shipping and handeling on every item that is purchased pressing is also extra dresses all come in at a 5' 7' hem why should they charge for hem? seems like they are just out to make money and sucker you in once your in you are no longer treated as nicely. I would most definitly not ever in my life recommend toumas to anyone else!! They were not very considerate of me (The Bride) and was unnecessarily stressed out that a mistake and admittion of fault could of solved the whole problem and could of been fixed in time!

I have purchased a beautiful gown from Toumas Bridal. The sales woman that helped me was fantastic. I was in the shop for 3 hours the first time and the lady was with me the entire time helping me try on the dresses and helping me with accessories. I had my mother and my grandmother in the shop with me and we told the woman that we needed some time to think about the dress so we would be coming back later that day. She was very willing to write everything down and let us leave the store without being pushy. We ate dinner and came back with more people to show the dress and we spent another couple of hours in the shop. I felt that the woman was very nice and was not pushy at all. It was everything I ever wanted for finding my perfect dress. I am still waiting on my dress as of now but I trust hopefully it will come in the date that I was told. I have been in there a couple of more times and worked with the same woman and she was wonderful. I had a great first couple of experiences there and I hope I will continue to have good customer service and that everything I ordered comes in on time.

Do not purchase your gown from Toumas Bridal. They ordered the wrong gown for me and refused to refund my money or get me the dress I wanted. Check out their rating on on the Better Business Bureau. They are rated F. They never resolve issues. I will never do business with them again.

I had my dress made my a seamstress and she was HORRIBLE. Refusing to alter our terrible dresses including mine, so we took them to Mrs Touma! she was incredible! (as well as the employees who toko care of my flower girl like a princess as well as spoiling me more than any other shop in town) Mrs Touma was swamped but she came out and she pinned my dress so that it would stay on, FINALLY after waiting since Oct 08 for the seamstress to make and perfect the dress. And even though we were going to have a friend fix the girls terrible dresses, Mrs. Touma took the time to pin one of those dresses too so that our friend could easily fix them all! Yes pricey, but wonderful considering the seamstress basically fired herself 22 days before our wedding!!! I highly recommend Touma's! lets just hope my dress is PERFECT when i pick it up, we've only got 11 days left now!

I went to Toumas after going to several different bridal shops in Fort Wayne...The Wedding Place helped me the second I walked in and helped me lace up every corset dress I tried on. Wendy's brought me dresses they thought I likes and carried my train from the dressing room to the mirror, even after my 20th dress. Toumas gave me absolutely no help. I went with my grandma and my maid of honor to look at dresses. Not only did I carry all my dresses around in my arms while looking but even after asking if I could have a fitting room when two were open no one opened up one for me. My grandma attempted to lace up the back of the dress for me and was not able to do it properly. We asked for help and Mrs. Touma said she would be back and never came back. I took off the dress and tried on another one that I really liked. When I asked her the price she came back about 10 minutes later and told me she would give me 20% off the dress. I told her I would have to think about it and she continually pressured me to purchase the dress. I went home and looked up the normal retail price of the dress and her "discount" price was $300 more than the normal dress price!!! The Wedding Place said they can order in any dress you find around town so if you find one you like at Toumas you should head over to The Wedding Place and they can order it in for you at the same price and much better service.

So I went into Touma's and bought and paid for a dress and it had to be ordered in my size...no problem! The dress was supposed to be in by the end of March and they were going to call me. By the middle of April I hadn't heard anything so I called them but everyone I talked to said that it would be a few more weeks. This continued for over a month! Finally in June I was told that the dress was there. By this time it was 3 months til the big day and I still had to get it altered. When I was handed the dress and put it on I just thought that it didn't quite look right. I went out to the car and looked at my camera with a picture of me in the dress and sure enough it was a different dress. I tried asking the ladies that worked there and even talk to the owner and they all said that they couldn't tell because the book with the order was at Mrs. Touma's house and she'd have to look later. Come to find out they had sold my dress off that rack to someone else after she had seen it and tried it on. I was livid. And after the entire experience we had to fight with Mrs. Touma to make it up to me because there was not enough time to order another dress and get it altered. I would not recommend this store to anyone for the simple reason of them having extremely poor customer service!

Ok ok ok so maybe saying best isn't exactly the perfect word, but it was FAR from the worst!! I went into Touma's yesterday for the first time ever, AFTER going to Wendy's and basically running out of the store in tears (that's another story for another page). My M.O.H. called 3 or 4 different stores looking for THE dress, THEY HAD IT AT TOUMAS!!! I walked in, went straight for the dress I wanted to try on, grabbed it and was met by Mrs. Touma and she set me up with a room right away. I went out oogled in front of the mirror for quite some time. I asked for a veil and she brought it no problem. Then it came time for the BIG decision. She informed me that the dress was on sale and that I had to put some kind of money down to lock in the price. That was fine with me I planned on doing that anyways, BUT I didn't have enough with me to pay the full half to get it ordered so she GLADLY informed me that i could put down what I could and I had 30 days to pay the rest of the half for it to be ordered in time. Call me crazy but that is GOOD customer service in my opinion!!! As a person who has worked in the customer service field for MANY MANY years, that is TOP NOTCH to me! I would recommend this store to ANYONE that wants a designer dress. Yes their prices are a little high but if you want a certain designer they will have the dress and YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Don't expect to get a top quality designer dress on a Bud Light budget ladies!!

Did you say anything to Mrs. Touma? She would've worked it out with you I'm sure...if you had but mentioned it to her about the difference in price for the veil you bought. I have not had any major problems with them and any issues I did have they worked out to my complete satisfaction...because I mentioned the issue and was honest and up front and used a respectful approach when broaching the issues involved. I would definately recommend them to anyone wanting a dress or alterations..they did a fabulous job. cora

Have you noticed any differences between your first visit and your second visit????
Ok lets start here and this is not a Lie, the first time you go in that store they will treat you like a princess, because they know that you will buy something or THEY WILL MAKE YOU BUY SOMETHING. If you do buy something you are making a big mistake because you are paying way too much for the alteration. The dresses are very pretty but not WORTH THE STRESS FROM MRS. TOUMAS you give her your money then you have to call in hundred times to see if your dress has arrived then come in and try it on and make all the alteration on it which will cost you probably $100-$300 NOT WORTH IT. ITS just not worth it going in there and dealing with the Ladies . And when you do buy the dress and come in the second time they will treat you totally different .

The first time my mom and I stopped in, the two women working there were very pleasant and helpful. They pulled dresses for me that had elements that I had discribed and they gave their honest opinion about how I looked (which I appreciated!). However, the minute I said that I liked a dress, they began gushing, telling me it was gorgeous and they wouldn't stop telling my mom that she had to purchase it THAT DAY. This went on for a bit, making it a little uncomfortable, so I took the dress off and thanked them.
After looking at wedding dresses, we went and looked at Mother of the Bride dresses and Bridesmaid dresses. Still, fairly helpful. The younger girl checked on us periodically and wrote down the three styles I had found. She also cut a color swatch for me to take home to show my fiance.
The second time I went in, this time with my maid of honor, they ignored us. There was no one in the store at the time but she didn't say one word to us. So I went and tried to find the three dresses I wanted my maid of honor to try on. After narrowing it down, I wanted to write down the style numbers and check on the prices. When asked about pricing, the salewoman rudely told us that they were written on the tag. I could not find the tag and she grabbed the dress from my hand and showed it to me, handed it back, and walked away.
Cue our exit.
I'm frustrated because this is the only place I can find the bridesmaid dress I like, which means I will have to go back with my two other girls at some point.

if you want to buy a dress go online and buy a dress do not go to Toumas , becuase you wont know if you buy a BRANDNEW DRESS OR SAMPEL DRESS trust me. And she does not give you any discount , do you know what the 20% precent is that you get. That is the commission that is being taken away from the girls that work there. I went in there once and never again the WORST customer service ever, as soon as they get your money they are done with you. Compare your first visit and your second visit you will see the diffrence . ...

I have never had a bad experience with Touma's bridal and neither has my party. IN fact their service is better than any other place in town, and they will match prices, give you free alterations, or a discount depending on your needs...They discounted a gown for me from Demetrios that I know cost 2,400.00 from Demetrios themselves but had found elsewhere for 2,000.00 and they gave it to me for 1800.00...What a Deal. And if you've ever been a bride before or have shopped around at other stores you would know that they treat everyone as fairly as possible and have to wait and go by what the manufacturers tell them....I was there when they checked on my arrival time of my dress as it had passed it's due date...but Mrs. Touma got on the phone right away and cleared it up right in front of me. My Bridesmaids also got a great deal on their dresses...getting 20 percent off as I had 13 girls in my wedding. My sales girl was extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else...David's didn't want to deal with me and my bridal party because we needed an appointment..(and they told me they don't store dresses for you or give price matches...very unhelpful....and We walked into Wendy's and didn't even get a hello after being there for 30 MINUTES!!, But got immediate help and attention as soon as we arrived at Touma's...How's that for service? Our dresses were beautiful and my wedding couldn't have been better...And Touma's made that possible. So why be anonymous...if everything you say is true about a business...put your name to it I say! Yours Truly, C. Johnson P.S. I had also heard a rumor before stopping at Touma's that they were closing their business so I was unsure about ordering through them, but I am assured that they are not closing anytime in the near or far future...Just goes to show that some people are rotten to spread rumors that are untrue.

My best friend is getting married in August, and yes, she waited to long to order her dresses, but we were still 16 weeks away from the wedding when she finally decided what she wanted. On top of being extremely rude, and acting as if we were in her way, Mrs. Touma told us that the dresses would not be in until the end of August, which was not going to work with the wedding date of August 23rd. So - we all paid the $45 rush fee, which would have only gotten it there 3 weeks earlier, being the first week of August, or at least that is what she told 3 of the 5 girls. The other two went in at a different time and were told that with the rush it would be the 3rd week of July that they would come in. So, not only did she lie, but she couldn't keep her story straight with the same bridal party! Now, we ordered the dresses on May 10th. We just got notice that they are in and waiting for pick-up! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! So, 5 bridesmaids x $45 = $225. She just made an extra $225 basically banking on the stress of planning a wedding! I am not sure how she sleeps at night, but she must be evil to take such a beautiful day in a woman's life and turn it into such a nightmare!!!

Touma's has beautiful dresses, and a nice variety of designers to choose from. However, they are extemely rude and condescending. I chose to have different bridesmaid dresses, all in the same color, and Touma kept trying to tell me that one of the styles I had chosen had been discontinued, when it had not. I even talked to the designer myself and was informed that the dress was still available, and she would still insist that they had told her it was not. For a bridal shop, they have no idea what is in fashion, because Touma kept trying to tell me that another particular dress looked just the same as the one I wanted...when it was nowhere close. She rudely asked me why I didn't just get all the same dress. Clearly she doesn't understand that some brides want to give their bridesmaids a variety to choose from instead of having cookie cutter bridesmaids!
I am thrilled with my dress, it is beautiful, but as some other reviewers have said, they don't care about you at ALL once they have your money. When I first went in with my mom, we had one-on-one attention and lots of help. Now they act annoyed with me every time I call or go in...I've even been hung up on before for calling on a Saturday because they were just "too busy" to deal with me. They also have no desire to have a good relationship with customers--they can't even spell my name or the names of my bridesmaids correctly on the order sheet. It's unprofessional.
All in all, if you absolutely can't find your dresses anywhere else, go here, but avoid Touma's at all other costs. It's not worth the stress, anxiety, and frustration it will cause you during this special time when you should be happily planning!

i was told to shop here because they had really great dresses and that the people who worked here were friendly. well, that was true and i did find a dress i fell in love with. it had to be special ordered in for me so i could get the size i wanted. no big deal. i went ahead and paid for half of it. no big deal. i was told this dress was from new york, so it wouldn't take a very long time. i was there in december- my wedding is in june. the first time i called to check on it was february. they said it had "been shipped" and would be there by march 5 and they "would call me." so march 6 i called them. no dress. they said it will be here march 25 and again, they would call me. so march 26 i call again. no dress. oh, it had shipped and it will be here april 10. guess what happened when i called april 11. no dress. oh, it will be here either monday or tuesday (14 or 15) trust me. it has shipped so it should be here. "we will call you." i swear if it's not there i will throw a fit. i still have to alter the stupid thing and it's already cost me $500 so far, including the $75 to add cap sleeves. i really just can't see how a dress can be "shipped" for 3 months. and the fact that they told me a girl has the same name as me and the same dress from the same shop, but her wedding is in august. i find that hard to believe. i am not pleased at all with my experience.
*edit
i added a star because my dress did finally come in and when we went to go get it they were genuinely sorry that it took so long and they were very kind to me even after i called a million times. and they had ordered it 2 sizes bigger, which concerned me, but the dress fits PERFECTLY. i'm very happy i decided to listen to her when she ordered it. i'm pleased now, but it was stressful getting to that.

I had an unhappy experience at Toumas also. I went there and tried on dresses and found quite a few pretty ones. One dress I liked more than the others. The sales girl was pretty nice, she brought over the veil, shoes and jewelry. I did like the dress, but this was the first shop I had been to since being engaged. I didn't want to buy a dress after only going to one place. So I told the girl that I needed to wait, she was nice enough and said she would write down the info on a card. While she was doing that the owner came up and she kept saying you need to order today, I tried to explain to her I wanted to wait and she was very cold to me. I ended up going to another bridal shop and finding the perfect dress, but it didn't stop there. A couple days after I had went to Touma's they called me. At first they were really nice saying they were just checking to see if I was wanting to order the dress, when I said no they said well we were calling to because the neckless you tried on with your dress is missing and you were the last to try it on. I had no idea where the neckless was, after telling them I handed it back to them they accused me of stealing it. It was not my fault that they misplaced it, after that I will never step foot in there again!

We are currently buying Gowns from Touma's, We went yesterday for my daughter's first fitting, what a nightmare!!!! We had an appointment and arrived, wow what a difference when they already have their money in hand!!! Couldn't get anyone to even acknowlege us, we had to ask for my daughter's veil, shoes, slip, and the flower girl dresses. We had to ask if Mrs Touma would please look at the brides dress because it was way to long and it was clear it needed altered!! We had to go find them, they were constantly with clients who were trying on gowns, so they could of course nail a sale and snatch some more money. Thennnnn the big surprise, we were told at the time of purchasing these dresses that they were a full service shop! They would handle all the alterations and everything, well that's true, but the bridal gown only needs hemmed and it will cost 168.00, the flower girl dress were 200 hundred and they tacked another 60 for alterations!! They made it clear that all dresses had to be paid in 10 days, but could care less about making sure all fit and looked good. They never even looked and my (mother's) dress when I tried it on, I have gotten much better service at a department store. I can't even believe Touma's service for this kind of money spent!!!! Very disapointed customer

Toumas is by FAR the WORST place I have EVER worked!!! I rarely had time to sit down and catch my breath during 8+ hour days. Mrs. Touma is the WORST person to work for!!! She is a tyrant who yells and screams if you spend more than 5 minutes with one client and don't get a $1000 sale.
They pay the immigrant girls in the back close to minimum wage to alter these dresses which can keep them there more than 10 hours a day.
They can't keep help more than a month or so because of how demanding and rude Mrs. Touma is. Tony is an AMAZING man and VERY kind hearted. It's hard to believe they are married....
Mrs. Touma will also under quote alterations. That is her typical practice. Anything to make you think you are getting a deal. You've already spent a boatload on your dress to buy it, so she knows you will pay whatever you have to for the alterations or risk losing all your money.
As for the tuxedos and the mix-up the one girl mentioned, all tuxedos are kept in the back. NONE of the tuxes are ordered. They are all right there. What happened was they probably overbooked your wedding with another one and the other bridal party picked theirs up first so they substituted yours. They are NOTORIOUS for this!!!!!!!!
Also, be very wary of your bridesmaid dresses. She routinely takes them out and shows them to other brides and bridal parties and sometimes lets the other people TRY THEM ON!!!! Talk about a hygiene issue!!!!!!!
If you want a great wedding without blowing your budget and making sure you have your wedding apparel on time, DO NOT GO HERE!

I went into Toumas not knowing anything about them.
I searched dresses and found some I liked. The sales woman was pushy, and I felt like I had to make a decision right then. I picked one that I really liked and felt good in anyway. She then promised the dress would be back from ordering in 12 weeks. Paid in full and went on my merry way thinking I was getting a great jump on planning my big day......
I ordered in middle January.
12 weeks went by, no call, so I call them. The OWNER answers and says no thats silly, dresses take longer, that it will be here mid June.
I wait and call after mid June after not hearing anything, OWNER once again says no no she never said June, "dresses don't come in June." That it will come in July now.
Guess what month it is? No dress.
My mother (who paid for it) was furious and went to talk to her. She assured my mother that she could overnight it here if my mom wanted, my mother said to just get it here. So she promised it would be here any day.... that was three weeks ago :)
This place lies, cheats, and pushes your money out of you, then treats you like dirt as soon as the money is in their hands.
What was going to be my great ahead of time planning, is now turning into a rush to the finish line to get my dress back and hopefully fitted before the big day :(

Touma's recently built a new shop on Coldwater Road that is simply gorgeous. It really gives you the feel that you are a queen for a day when dress shopping. But that is only the shop itself. Sadly the owner of this shop makes the whole experience go downhill super fast. The only time I ever had a good experience inside of it was when she was not there or not helping. I think that is pretty sad when the owner of the shop provides worse customer service than her associates.
My first experience at Touma's just trying on dresses was great. I was approached by a wonderful lady who went out of her way to make me feel great. I raved to everyone about that experience.
Soon after I was called back to the shop as there was a sale going on. I really wanted to purchase my dress off the rack to save money so I went in. This time I was helped by the shop owner. She was decently nice as I was trying on dresses, but her tatics were very high pressure sales. I had went alone that day and by the time I was done, I wanted to cry because she was making me feel like I had to make a decision. So I did, even though I wasn't sure. She was very rude to me as soon as it came to making a decision and paying for the dress. I asked her if she could hold the dress for me until I could contact my mom, because my mom wanted to help me pay for the dress. She didn't seem to understand this and kept telling me my mother would like any dress that I picked. I finally got her to hold the dress for an hour. I am upset that she gave me such a hassle about holding the dress when I later overheard a phone conversation where they had called a customer about a dress on hold. Apparently the must allow it or somebody was getting lied to!
At any rate I ended up purchasing a dress. Once it came to the money, the shop owner wanted nothing but that. I no longer felt like an individual or a bride, but just another paycheck for her.
Our wedding ended up getting pushed back. By the time it was getting close I finally accepted the fact that I had been a huge pushover and didn't really like the dress as much as I thought. I went back into Touma's just to try on differnet styles. The owner was there and once again she was flittering around using her high pressure sales tactics. She obviously didn't remember me from the previous experience and it was interesting to see her once again use the same tactics. I decided to try on a few dresses despite the fact that she was there. She kept telling me that I had to order today, I had to order today. I had to repeat to her several times that I was NOT ordering today, regardless of what she told me.
The experience is just really bad. I hate that I was suckered into the first dress there. I plan to never step foot back in there again. I also noticed that many of the dresses there were $200-$300 more expensive than other bridal shops.

I knew what dress I wanted years before I got married. I was told Toumas carried the dress and even though someone told me not to go there, I did. I found my dress and fell in love. I bought it that day and when I asked on average how much the alterations were, I was assured it was included in the price. I paid in full, (w/their special discount) close to $900. I stopped by to show my sister a few weeks later and they showed me a bridesmaid dress that looked great w/my dress. I said, yes that is the dress I want for my wedding party. They put the dress info on my bridal card, which happened to disappear because they are so unorganized.. So, when I went to order their dresses, I had to search the racks to find it. I found one, but it was black and white. I told them, this was the dress, but instead of the black, I wanted claret. When the dresses came in, no white! They said it was my fault for not specifying more and made me pay extra to correct their mistake. What is funny, we even discussed what color of shaw I should order, claret or white, and the lady said the white would clash too much with the other white that was on the dress. Oh and when we went to check out, my dress would be $50 more, they didnt charge me correct the first time. Whatever! Then alteration time came, my matron of honor who lives in another state, had to go there 5 times! before they got her dress correct. Of coarse, I had to pay almost $100 more for my alterations that were included in the original price. I swear everytime I turned around, they were adding more and more money to our dresses. I was told that each button to bustle my dress would $5 and I would need 5 of them. Not more than 10 minutes later when I went to pay, they said it was $37 for the buttons. How does that figure out?! Every time I visited there, I wasnt alone, so its not just my word against them; it was many of us. But they are so stubborn and pigheaded and it was getting close to my wedding that I was afraid they would really jack things up. Oh, and dont forgot my tiara that I ordered with my dress and call after call for 2 weeks, because they would never return my calls) they couldn t find the paperwork or the tiara and finally, some girls was like, well I see it right here, I dont know who told you it wasnt here. They were so stressful to work with. I spent probably close to $3,000 after all was said and done, (I havent added it up b/c I would be too depressed) and they never once remembered my name when I came in and treated me and my girls like garbage. Every other wedding vendor I dealt with, treated me like the princess every bride wants to be treated like. I could go on and on about these people, but I am running out of space. They do have a great variety. So, go there, try on their dresses, and find the one you like, write down the name of the dress and the style and then go somewhere else to buy it. Trust me! Any questions feel free to email me! Dunksgirl@mindless.com. I never, ever let a business bring me to tears and I cried in that place too much and they could care less. They would never own up to their mistakes and they were never wrong, no matter how many witnesses I had with me.
PROS: I dont ever have to deal with them again!!!!!!
CONS: Unorganized,unproffesional,rude,mean,money hungry,
