Reviews for Runcible Spoon Cafe & Rstrnt

Ratings_icons Great spot

The Runcible Spoon is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. It is usually pretty packed on the weekends, but the staff is really nice, the food is good and they have lots of things to look at as you wait if you have to. The bathroom has actually been featured in a Travel Channel documentary. It was one of my favorite destinations as a child. Not too many bathrooms could claim that. I believe they were the first place in Bloomington to roast their own coffee and they have lots to choose from. My favorite thing at the Spoon is the pancakes. They are big, inexpensive and they will pack them full of fruit if you want. The veggie Benedict is another favorite. Everyone should be able to find something to please them there.

This place is really like going over to a friend's parents' house for dinner. the menu is limited, but everything on it is stellar. Great atmosphere.

Ratings_icons Coffee & More in Down-Home Atmosphere

The Runcible Spoon was one of the first non-chain establishments I found when I moved to Bloomington. Nestled in a row of nice houses, the Runcible Spoon feels more like someone's living room than a coffee house. Each table is unique, and each beverage is made hot and right before your eyes.

The Runcible Spoon offers a variety of flavors for your coffee, so no matter what you're craving, there is something there for you. If you prefer hot chocolate or tea, they have you covered, as well. And the desserts are second-to-none. You know, the stuff grandma used to make.

If you venture into the Spoon, make sure you take a moment to check out the bathroom, even if you don't need it. I won't ruin the surprise here, but it's worth the trip just for that!
