West End Bakery

I have gone to this bakery since I was a kid. They have the BEST doughnuts around and the prices are low! I've always loved their cakes but recently got one and was really disappointed. The frosting tasted completely different from years past, very "lardy" tasting. I can make a better tasting frosting myself. I heard that they have been sold and have new owners. If that's true, it could be why the change in flavor. The doughnuts are still AWESOME though! Wish this site included the dates for when people post their comments. I used West End for my wedding cake and they did a FABULOUS job!!! The cake was gorgeous and tasted amazing. Their shop is absolutely adorable and you can't really leave it with out some sort of goodie. The first time I had one of their doughnuts it felt like I just tasted a piece of heaven and I don't even like doughnuts!

I had 2 cakes made for our friends kids birthdays. One cake was supposed to have "Jackson", but said "Justin" and the other cake was supposed to have a Trains theme (for a boy) and instead was decorated with pink flowers (for a girl). The train candle holders that we paid for separately were not even on the cake.
Both cakes were "fixed" as best they could.

Someone needs to be more attentive when taking orders.

There is no other place I would order a cake from. I have been going there for as long as i can remember and I am almost 50.Krispy cream does have good donuts- but only when they are fresh and still warm. This bakery there items are always fantastic. I did read that someone wasn't happy and all I can say there must have been a lot of communication that was not understood.

There is no other bakery as far as I am concerned!I remember growing up on the west end of Mishawaka and looked forward to Saturday morning donuts and other sweet stuff.From their mastellans to their creambooks breads to their cakes,and never disappointed with any of their goods.Anybody asks where to get great donuts or cakes there is no question where to go.Looking forward to Fat Tuesday and their packzi's(sp).Keep up the great job!

I had two different kinds of cakes made for my daughters 16th birthday. Neither one were decorated correctly or according to the picture I chose. The first one was round with different stripes of color. There was no final rim of decoration on the top to tie the top and bottom together. I had to ask for them to put it on and they looked at the picture to make sure it needed it before they did it. The other cake didn't have the final frosting on the bottom of the cake. The cake were very good as far as taste, but when you pay for decorations you expect it to be up to par and neither one of these were. I won't be getting any more cakes from West End.

Every saturday morning of my childhood I awoke to the saccharine aroma of fresh pastries and Belgian mastallens- yep, Dad had already been to the West End Bakery! The owners of this local Belgian treasure begin in the wee hours of the morning baking from old european recipes to provide the freshest doughnuts, pastries, coffee cakes, pies, and breads to the Mishawaka/South Bend community. The prices are remarkable and the quality unsurpassable! Though you may feel like you are stepping into the 1950's in their quaint storefront service area, it's clean and friendly (after all you're there for the goodies and that's exactly what the four large glass cases presents you with)!
Reserve an order of Mastallen, grab a few doughnut holes for the kiddies, or place an order for your birthday/wedding cake. Oh yeah, and if it's Saturday go early and grab a number!

Excellent bakery with excellent goods. This is the only bakery I have found with apple squares that actually taste like they are suppose to. The cookies and cakes are very good. Would highly recommend. Thank you, Jerilynn King

This is by far the best bakery in the South Bend/Mishawaka area. Everything they have is incredible. We always buy cakes their for family birthdays. The donuts are amazing and always very fresh. They have a great variety of dinuts every morning too. Its a family run business, so there is always a smiling face to great you. And the prices can't be beat!!!

West End Bakery is definitely the best bakery in the area! All of their items are delicious, but their cakes are simply amazing! Their prices are incredibly low, and the quality is simply outstanding. They have great donuts and pastries also. For special occasions, be sure to call ahead, as they can get really busy during certain seasons (graduations, weddings, etc.)

West End Bakery has been in my neighborhood for a long time and they know what their doing. Their cakes and donuts are delicious but I prefer their croissants. They also have good prices.

Every Saturday morning I come here to buy the freshest donuts in Mishawka This local bakery has the best baked goods in Mishawaka. There prices are very low and food quality is outstanding. The best time to pick up your favorite pastries would be during the morning hours. I like this bakery and would recommend it to anyone.
