My dog is skittish with his nail trims at home. Andria does a fantastic job of helping him relax and trim his nails quickly. when I call to schedule, they are responsive with calling me back. I always request Andria and they always accommodate my request. Very economical when compared to nail trims at vet. We have been going there for about 8 months now with no problems or concerns.

If I could I wouldn't even put one star for this establishment. I have been taking my dog here for about 3 years now; until now. In the beginning they did a great job, but as the years passed the quality of work diminished. The past few times when I have picked up my dog he has had knicks in random areas on his body. I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking that my dog may have moved unexpectedly or some kind of mistake like that. I just took him there yesterday and have never been more upset or disappointed. They scalped him so bad with the razor that they used, they took off at least a layer of skin in a 3" area on his side. First they tried to tell me that this "rash" was there when I dropped off my dog, which we all knew wasn't the case. They then insisted on telling me that my dog had a bad reaction to a brush that they used, no one would own up to the fact that they sliced his skin off. I understand that mistakes happen but when you take me for a fool and lie to my face about what clearly happened I am not OK with that. I argued with who said he was the owner and the groomer for my dog that day and he only refunded me the de-matting fee which was $20 in addition to the $45 for his grooming. I have never had to spend $20 to have mats removed in the 3 years that I have been taking my dog there, so this was a brand new expense to me. Now I have no idea what kind of services my $45 covers. Not to mention how horrible the cut was that they did on him. There are uneven sections all over his body, they didn't even trim up his beard and there are knicks all on his underbelly yet again. I couldn't even ask them to touch him up because my dog was so petrified and just wanted to go home. The only thing that he offered me was a visit to their vet clinic on their dime in Castleton, which with this wound we have to go. Ointment isn't going to cut it as far as treatment goes. What kind of owner does shoddy work like that on a dog, scalp his skin so badly that now a vet visit is required and returns the dog to the owner blaming it on allergies like that? Own up to your mistake and don't lie to your customer. Ever. I would have been less upset if he had just apologized, but this arrogant jerk couldn't even bring himself to do that. I am shocked and appalled at the business ethics and lack of morals this establishment and owner practice. The worst part of it all is how badly traumatized my dog is after this last visit. He was shaking when we picked him up and shook and moaned all night last night. It breaks my heart to see him so hurt and in so much pain. He isn't the same dog today but hopefully after a visit to the vet and some pain meds he'll be back to normal soon. I would never recommend this place to anyone. After everything that just happened in this last visit I will never return, advise others against going and do what I can to get the word out about this wretched establishment. It is such a shame that it happened and the way that it was handled by their owner. Horrendous.

I love The Village Dog! I've been taking my dog there for years and Andrea always does such a wonderful job keeping her looking her best. I've taken Molly to other groomers in the past and have been very disatisfied with the quality of their work - one groomer even hurt her by grooming too aggressively - then charged me more because my dog was "unmanagable". They are very flexible in accomodating my needs, their hours of operation are easy to work with and their pricing is very competitive. An added bonus is that my dog seems to be happy to go!

We have a standing appointment with Jenny at the Village Dog and I will never take my 'kids' any place else. I've tried PetSmart and Petco, they were less $$ but the grooming is 'adequate' at best, and my kids did not seem anxious to go back. When we go see Jenny they are excited, happy and always look wonderful when I pick them up.

I brough my dog several times to be washed/groomed by Andrea and her folks at the Village Dog. They did a great job for a fair price. Petsmart is a bit cheaper, but this is a bit more personal. They don't have as wide spanning hours as some, but if you live near Broad Ripple, this is a great place to take your pooch.
