I have been in The Better Cheddar a few times because of their impressive variety of specialized cheeses and gourmet items, but in general I have found their employees to be unresponsive and not terribly helpful. If you know exactly what you are looking for then it is fine, but don't do expecting a great deal of help.

Although smaller than their main store on the Plaza, this branch in Prairie Village is a great stop for all sorts of gourmet and special goods, including cheeses, tea, chocolate, pasta, sauces and crackers. This is a perfect place to make a gift basket of goodies, or find snacks for a special party or event. The staff is helpful, and there are lots of samples available.
PROS: Great treats
CONS: Not as big a selection as the plaza store
