J Gilbert's Wood Fired Steaks

Delicious!!! By far one of my favorite restaurants in KC. Have never had a bad meal and the atmosphere is great. Sad that they no longer have the Santa Fe Shrimp but their steak and lobster tail combo is fabulous. Great place for date night!!

J Gilbert's has some of the best steaks I have ever tried. The appetizers, salads and soups are also very good. Prices are more towards the high end, but the Mixed Grill is worth every penny!

J. Gilberts is an excellent restaurant! We first went there with a gift certificate we had received and then continued to frequent the restaurant as much as we could afford to. As steak restaurants go, the prices were very reasonable--and you could even get a full meal (salad, one of five entrees, and dessert) from a twil-lite menu Sunday through Thursday for $19.95. The filet medallions I always got and the salmon my husband got were always cooked to perfection. J. Gilberts even has a dining program where you can earn points for eating there and receive a $25 certificate for your birthday.

I have since moved out of the KC area but I definitely miss this restaurant and its consistent dining and service. During the years we went (2003-2007) our favorite servers were Jay and Brooke.

JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY TASTY. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS VERY ROMANTIC. I JUST LOVE THE ROYALTY TREATMENT AND ATTENTION YOU GET. JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT WHO EVER THE OWNER IS AND ALL THE MANAGERS YOU ARE THE BEST TEAM PLAYERS AND TRAINERS IVE EVER EXPERIENCED. LOVE YOU ALL.

We love going here. The food is awsome especially the crab bisque. They serve amazing warm sour dough bread. I am not even a fan of sour dough and I like this. The service is always good. Great coffee. Like I said, one of our favs. We even attended a dinner wine tasting they had (our first) and although I am kinda picky about my wine and my husband isn't a huge fan of wine in general we were very happy with the meal and the wines. 2 thumbs up, try them for dinner or lunch.
