I had the misfortune of being in two car accidents over the past year with a brand new car. The first time, when I was rear-ended, my car was nearly totaled (if it had not been a month old, the amount of damage would have constituted a replacement). Carstar was recommended by a friend, and as soon as we called them, they handled all the details. Joe personally oversaw the inspection with the adjuster from the other driver's insurance company, and insisted that the damaged parts would be replaced by new ones straight from Mazda and would not settle on anything less for me. They got the order in to Japan straight away, and got my car back on the road quickly. It was like brand new, and it had a lifetime warranty from Carstar to boot.
Then, one day when another driver left a large scratch on my car in a parking lot, I took it back to Carstar for an estimate. They could have charged a couple hundred dollars, but instead, they took it back and took care of it right away, free of charge.
Last week, another driver hit my new car (I know, rotten luck). This time, it was a driver running a red light, who T-boned us. The engine was sideways, the entire hood demolished--the car was totaled. My insurance company had looked at it, and thought that it might be repairable. But Joe with Carstar insisted that he would not repair a car that wasn't safe, and felt that after two hits, its integrity was compromised. Again, Joe went through the inspection personally along with the adjuster from the other driver's insurance company, and she agreed--it needed to be replaced.
I can't thank Joe and Carstar Metcalf enough. They really look out for their customers, and when they have a job to do, they do the job right. Throughout the repair process, they are great about communicating what's going on, instead of leaving you in the dark. I am not easily impressed by most businesses, but I couldn't be more pleased with Carstar Metcalf.
