PS: They are reviewing themselves on sites and providing false info. Notice emmyroo, JellyBean, joan2003, Five Star Reviews were all posted within 24 hours of each other on yellowpages, those users only reviewed Scott the Electrician ..also the same 3 usernames were used on citysearch to give a Five Star Review, and that is what I found spending 3 mins on validating the reviews....I will let you draw your own conclusions on the validity of the rest and this company performing an Honest Job...

I had a total upgrade from 150A to 200A I could have gone with KCP&L , but I didn't want to seem desperate. Scott the Electrician came down Immediately , brought the house back to code . Probably saved a couple thousand. I had no problems with them!

Feels Pretty good having an electrician! I went with Scott The Electrician once , and now I'm stuck with them. They make the work look easy. Pretty friendly I mean They put booties on their shoes when they entered my house my wife liked that and they didn't steal anything (happened before with DTV). I rate Scott The electrician, by experience , 5 star!

I was impressed by the friendliness of the entire staff. Also, everyone I came into contact with seemed very knowledgable about their jobs, and really inspired confidence. I would highly recommend this company.

We had a whole wall of lights go out as well as the oven right when I was cooking for a big birthday party. I called Scott the Electrician's office at 5pm & they arrived within 15 minutes to help save our entire meal & party! I just wanted to shout out a big THANK YOU!!! We really appreciate the fast, friendly reliable service that you provided us!

I called Scott The Electrician and actually got same day service. What a relief. If I would of had to wait another day. They showed me that I could of had a fire. Thank you so much Scott The Electrician and your fine staff for protecting myself and family.

I was hosting an outdoor event, and my outside lighting was cut by our lawn service, I needed help in a pinch. Scott the Electrician came the same day I called, and repaired the problem too. I recommend them to anyone with their fast same day service!

I had an electrical problem right in the middle of a paint job when the power went out. I called Scott The Electrician and he was there in 20 minutes and had me up and running in 30 minutes. They were working at a fast pace to get me up and running again.
They were also reasonable on cost compared to another company I had previously used.

Stay away! This company charges 3-5 times more than anyone in Kansas City. They call you and say they are doing "complimentary safety inspections" (I know, my fault for falling for this) and then come into your home and write up a page of things you need to fix immediately before your house burns down.
It's high pressure sales at it's worst. After telling me that the work would take hours and I had a major fire hazard in my basement (duh Robin, my house passed inspection over 6 years ago and has been just fine), I thought $1000 sounded reasonable. I didn't realize that installing a couple j-boxes and GFCI devices should take a trained electrician minutes.
I have called several local electricians who said a GFCI outlet/install would cost $35. Search online for the average cost of GFCI installation in the US - you'll find $71. This is taking into consideration major cities on the East and West coasts. Scott the Electrician's price? $138.77. That's almost twice the national average and 4 times higher than KC companies.
After hearing multiple times from others how I was being completely overcharged, I called the company to express my concern. The woman answering the phone told me that the majority of their customers are female and trust the electricians because they are clean. Talk about taking advantage of the women homeowners who typically would not know as much about the electric needs of their home - ugh!!
Wish I would have done my research or gotten a second estimate; it would have saved me about $700. Biggest mistake/lesson learned for me as a homeowner. Hoping I save someone else from making the same mistake...

I've used them several times. They are fast and efficient. I've never had to recall them...their work was exceptional.

Scott was hired 8 years ago to fix simple tasks in our house to bring it to code before we could buy it. Over the course of these past 8 years, we have had numerous professionals comment on how several electric things in our house were completely wrong and it has resulted in us having to spend a lot of extra money having those things fixed. Scott not only did not address all of the things he hired to do 8 years ago, but he also created these extra problems. DO NOT USE this electrician! You are wasting money and creating more problems! On the one occassion that he was called back to fix something he broke, which was 1 week after the initial work, he denied any responsibility and was unprofessional and rude. Even the previous home owners were extremely upset with him.

Had a duplex receptacle for garage door openers go bad. Scott the electrician wanted $785.00 to run new wires on the outside of the house and into the garage. Told them NO and they came back with $490.00, also told them NO. Had another electrician trace the problem, tightened some wires and charged $85.00. Everything fixed just find. Avoid Scott the Electrician unless you like being bent over.

Cost me about $300 to get a circuit breaker replaced. Took the electrician about 15 minutes...so about $20 a minute. Tired of getting screwed over by service contractors. What happened to honest pay for honest work. Lookinbg for an electrician? Skip Scott The Electrician.

We had a light fixture installed by Scott the Electrician and it was originally in the center of the wall and straight, but not working. The light is now working, but it's not centered or straight on the wall - he moved it for a reason we don't really know and made a big hole in our new drywall, but didn't measure anything just eyeballed it. It looks hideous and the charge was outrageous. There may be no service charge, but it is definitely included in the price for repair. Trust me at $10 per minute (yes) you are being ripped off if you call these guys.

Scott the Electrician does a great job with simple household electrical needs -- installing a bathroom light fixture, repairing ceiling lamps, checking wiring, etc. You can often get same-day service, though the cost reflects this convenience.

I have utilized Scott the Electrician for several small electrical jobs at my home and have found them to be convenient, reliable, and fairly priced. They offer excellent turn around service in emergencies and are professional and knowledgable in their trade.

From the first person I spoke to on the telephone to the men on the work crew, everyone was friendly and helpful. I honestly felt like it was their pleasure to help me with my needs. I would definitely recommend this company, and would use them again.
I had this company over to my home to do a wiring job and I am very pleased! Everyone I talked to was so friendly and knew how to answer all of my questions. I will definitely use them again for any other electrical jobs and will be recommending them to everyone I know. Great service, affordable prices, friendly people!!!
I have tried a few other electrician companys but i will not say the names. and Scott the Electrician was BY FAR the best. The electricians were VERY informative. Jeremy and Mark were their names. They were interested in SAVING me money instead of taking it. That is something I think we all can appreciate!! I highly recommend them. They were friendly from the time I called to make the appointment to the time they waved goodbye to me from their van!! THANK U!!!!I WILL be calling if ever needed again and I have already recommended them to my neighbors. :)
Friendly, personable service, affordable pricing. This business has been around for years and years for a reason. These guys know what they're doing!
I live in an older home, and have had electrical problems off and on, finally got tired of lights flickering, and everything, called Scott the Electrician, they came out same day, and thoroughly explained to me what was going on and what needed to be done to repair my problems. I was so pleased with the courteousness, and professional mannerism that Mark had, I was more than willing to have him stay and work. I have had no more problems, and if I ever do, I will be sure to call them again and hopefully Mark will still be there.
I had a power outage in the middle of a paint job and I called Scott The Electrician and their worker showed up in 20 minutes and had me up and running in 30. The technician was very friendly and the cost as compared to other companies I have used was competitive.
