I am suprised by some of the reviews I have read, and I find some to be questionable so here is mine. We have bought: washer, dryer, dishwasher, bed, a couch, and granite countertops from NFM. I opted for delivery each time and the sales person showed me the cost difference each time. Due to the high sales tax at NFM it only cost me an additional $25-$30 ea. Time to have the items delivered. The countertops are great and I cannot believe how cheap they were. My dryer quit drying after about 3 weeks, they had a service person come out and it was actually my fault but NFM paid for it. I know that the delivery guys are indep. Contractors, but they have been great each time no matter the weether. From talking with the sales people, NFM carries all levels of quality, so do your research.
HOW DARE YOU! Today, you tried to dump a used, dirty mattress on me! How many others have you scammed who didn't notice that you were delivering a used, inferior product to them, sold as new? I will surely let my friends, neighbors, and anyone on the internet know what you TRIED to pull on me. I paid more than $1000 for a NEW Sealy mattress and you brought a used, dirty one to my home. You have surely shown what kind of company you REALLY are - truly pathetic!

I purchased an omaha bedding mattress from NFM in September 2010. The mattress soon began demonstrating body indentation and sag. Through numerous e-mail with customer "NO SERVICE" i got nothing but a run around and they keep referring me to Omaha Bedding. I did not purchase the mattress from OBED so I do not wish to negotiate a settlement with them. NFM insists that the mattress must show at least one and one half inch of sag to be considered defective. At the time I first contacted NFM and provided all the requested documentation, the mattress show 1" of sag. NFM sez not enough, industry standard in 1 & 1/2 inch sag to be considered defective. I really do not care about what the industry standard is and from my searching the internet have seen nothing stating a 1 & 1/2 inch sag being normal. I cannot use this mattress due to neck pain. However, NFM refuses to negotiate this issue and wants me to negotiate with OBED. This has been nothing but a complete hassle and NFM refusal to acknowledge that there is a problem has become very disappointing to say the least. I am now requesting the telephone number of the store manager to attempt to negotiate this issue with him/her.

We have furnished most of our house through Nebraska Furniture Mart and we plan to purchase from them in the future as well. Good quality furniture at a very good price. You really can't beat their prices. We found a couch at another furniture store in Gladstone, MO and they were asking almost $3000, we went to NFM and that same couch was literally half that!

Nebraska Furniture Mart, Inc is a giant sized store. Browsing the store will take hours. If you know exactly what you are searching for you can head right to that department. The service depends on how many others are shopping. The store is usually very busy on weekends. Prices are often lower than you can find in other places, but it doesn't hurt to check! Advertised specials lure customers. Ample parking, but you may have to walk a bit to get to the door. Remember where you left the car. It's a busy place!

You could literally spend an entire day shopping their selection of furniture, appliances, and electronics. Everything is priced lower than anywhere else I've seen and they are always offering no-interest financing on large purchases. A good choice if you can't pay cash.

I've purchase nearly every bit of furniture in my house from NFM. Not only do they have the largest inventory around but some really great sales. Even their every day price are competitive. They are always clean and the sales people are friendly and helpful.

My wife and I drove up from Wichita to shop 3 times, found what we wanted so we bought the items. They didn't have it in stock so they would deliver it. The delivery was 5 hours late, the merchandise was not all in the boxes. The delivery drivers had no idea how to put the items together and made a mess. They also scratched my new glass door moving the items in. They took the bed that was incomplete back and then they left my old bed flipped over and didn't even put it back together. The are now supposed to deliver on july 17th. CAlled and said it would be July 23rd. I have now cancelled 2 vacations and took off enough time that is has cost me over $5000.All they did was send me a $50 dollar coupon that I can use to purchase something else at their store. HELL NO!!! I want my money back and I'm keeping the bed. Good Luck!!!
Nebraska Furniture Mart is a huge furniture store in Kansas City, KS. It's really like a two-story mall full of furniture, appliances, electronics, carpet, media, etc.. It is huge and it can be hard to find what you want because of the size of the place. When you do find what you want, it can be hard to track down a salesperson. They often do not have chosen items in stock in KC (they are usually in Omaha), so even if you want to pick up you often have to make a return trip a few days later. Despite the hassles, it's worth it because of their huge selection and low prices!
HUGE store. You could almost spend the whole weekend here looking. They have food courts and restrooms. They have electronics, carpet, appliances, software, dvd's, office furn, and so much more for the home. Do your footwork and compare prices---we have usually found their prices and selection to be the best around the area. They have excellent sales ads.

Nebraska Furniture Mart carries everything from music, electronics, home appliances, furniture, rugs, and various other products on 2 large and elaborate floors. Their prices on home appliances are something to keep an eye on once in a while because their normal prices are comparable to places such as Best Buy and Sears. With specials popping up once in a while you can find something great. The furniture selection is also something to take a look at, if there is something specific you have in mind, they will order it for you free of shipping.
Nfm is a horrible place to shop they have become a pig.. They won't pay any local taxes for 75 years but outside that they don't give a crap about their sales people u can't find anyone whos been there longer than a year in most cases. The sales people are taught to say whatever is needed to get you to buy which includes a lot of lying.. Whatever u do don't buy the guardsman, if u ever go into the warehouse u will see a very small area to treat the furniture and it's a running joke most of it doesn't get sprayed, they have 2 guys who spray the furniture and over 400 pieces a day to spray. You do the math.. The furniture is all low end but some of it presented like its better than it is. Usually buying even an ""expensive"" brand will fall apart in a few years.. Nfm policy to buy only Chinese made goods because of pricing even if it's American brand names like lazy boy or lane and yes they could buy the American tier if they wanted. They use your money to order a lot of stuff that always gets delayed, they will blame it on the manufactuer but in fact it's bc nfm won't pick up a load till its 100percent full. They also have another interesting practice where as when a customer returns a piece being a sofa or a
mattress they put it back in new stock. And don't be fooled about the clearance center the prices are actually the exact same as the new stuff they figured out people will buy it and not compare, the clearance center actually turns a hefty profit.. So think twice before you buy from the pig, they lie and who knows what your getting, sales people are very dishonest, I know my best friend was one and for privacy I posted this for her. Buy from a local company that pays taxes and keeps people for longer than a few months so they actually tell u the truth. Just compare furniture deals on here over 209 positive comments.....don't feed the pig!!
Ordered theater seating on November 11, 2011 from NFM. Was told it wouldnt arrive until Dec 26th. I thought that was a long time to wait, but agreed with my wife that we could wait until then. Here it is December 28th and not only do I not have my furniture yet, but now they are saying it wont arrive until Jan 4th!!!! almost 2 freaking months after I ordered it. I called customer care and was livid, and all I got was sorry there must have been a delay with the manufacturer .... no kidding the delay was from Nov 11th to dec 26 , so what is the delay now??? All I got was sorry ... sorry. They have a great selection but this will be my last purchase from this company, there are other local furniture stores that dont treat you like this. I will shop at Crowley from now on.
We recently bought furniture at their 50% off sale. It was high end furniture and we were thrilled with the savings. Also to our delight we had it delivered five days later. The delivery personnel were very good. The pieces were extremely bulky and heavy and we had no problems. We tend to research furniture and brands before we buy and since we had looked at this furniture several times we knew what we were getting.
I was checking for Nebraska Furniture Marts website & I started to read these reviews. To say the least I am very surprised at the opinions voiced here. We have been shopping at NFM for several yeares - furniture, electronics, kitchen appliances, etc and have never once had a problem with products, service or delivery. The 1 problem we have had turned out to be our fault for trying to assemble something & doing it wrong. The products we have purchased (couch, office chairs, flat screen TV, Xbox, breadmaker, food processor, vacuum, file cabinet, futon, DVD player etc) have all been exceptional. When they delivered our couch it wouldn't fit through door because of the way doorway was situated. The delivery guys hefted it up onto a second floor porch & into our living room. When the futon was delivered the delivery guy stuck around to make sure we got it put together correctly - because he had the same futon & the frame was tricky. The food processor & DVD player were gifts & the people we gave them to were very pleased. Sale people we have spoken to have always been helpful & I have only dealt with 1 person who was rude & she apologized before we left & thanked us for our patience.
The delivery guys just left my house - with the dirty, used mattress they tried to deliver! I paid over $1000 for a NEW Sealy Mattress and NFM sent me one that had been used! It was the delivery guy who noticed the wrapping had been opened and re-taped. When he opened it, he asked if I had bought a floor model. I told him no. He said this mattress was obviously used and it was dirty! So, needless to say, I am NOT HAPPY with Nebraska Furniture Mart. I demanded a full refund and will, obviously, take my business elsewhere. If you order from NFM, make sure, you are not getting something off the floor if you are expecting new. This company is truly pathetic!
I just wanted to sign up and thank ALL of the people who wrote reviews about this palce. I have seen it avertised and am looking for new furniture. It is sad that so many customers are discontent with their experiences at this company. Thank you for saving me time, energy and money. I will be looking someplace else. With a reputation like this you would think the company would do a major overhall. I ALWAYS believe you should check the BBB and personal reviews of a company before walking into the store. The customer is your best advisor on what to expect.

I will never go there again!! They are rude and do not care about the customer at all. I cannot go into details as the problem I had was with my personal account but I can tell you they have a very faulty payment system. The customer service department is the worst I have ever seen and I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!!!!
I have purchased numerous products from NFM and am not pleased with all the break downs and broken parts with lengthy repair time. First, I bought a refridgerator with the freezer on the bottom and within one month of the warranty expiring the air compressor went out and it cost $500.00 to replace. Secondly, purchased a recliner that the wood part of the back broke and I do believe that the repairman came from Mars walking! It took FOREVER to get any answers for the repair. Still waiting! Next, we purchased a front load washer/dryer set and not too long after getting them home, the seal went out! Just gave up tiring to get assistance for repairs and called my own repairman. Last, we got a sectional that broke in two places and am still waiting for it to get fixed. Sectional was purchased two years ago!!!!!! I truly believe that the NFM employees are not happy with their jobs and therefore the customer gets their poor attitudes! I will NEVER purchase any more products from NFM. I have learned that quality does come with a price and I am willing to pay it at a different place!!!!!!!!!
I purchased bedroom furniture (upon the salesman's recommendation for what for what was popular for young men) for my son and didn't realize how poor the quality was until we moved a year later. The drawer bottoms literally were cardboard and he duct-taped them to hold them together. Paid $600.00 for the set and would have been happy to pay double but feel duped by the salesman. No satisfaction from customer service because it wasn't within the first 30 days. Wish I would have paid better attention to the quality as I would have been happy to pay much more for a better set. Fool me once, shame on you. You will not fool me twice, nor will you get my future business. Previously I have purchased master bedroom furniture, a loft bed, carpet, mattress set, appliances. Had previously problems with delivery and assembly, but never when I didn't use delivery. I will be glad to support a local business who appreciates customer. I don't think they care if customer return or not.
It's not bad enough that they got to build a brand new building at the expense of taxpayers and then try and screw the taxpayers by not paying their share of property taxes. I have bought three items from there and have had issues with all three. When talking to customer service they continued to jerk me around it took over a month to get me right. I went to Crowley furniture and bought our living room set and had no issues i paid a little extra but Crowley is a locally owned business and they appreciate your business. Unlike NFM who thinks since they are the only game in town they can do whatever they want. Also from what I understand NFM has a practice of hiring cheap labor, and have a large group of Latino working in the warehouse. I wonder if they are all citizens???
I went to pick up a dinning set form Nebraska store in Kansas City, while I was at the check out desk a lady came and told me that I have other orders that I did not pick up or pay for, I told her that I paid for the items and that i have at my house now, i told her that i paid for it without using the ticket. She stated THAT I TOOK THE ITEMS WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT AND THAT IS WHAT HER SYSTEM IS SHOWING. She repeated this more than once and told me that i have to pay for those items. She held me at the desk for 20 minutes making a search on her exceptionally smart system.... i was running out of time as the store was closing at 9 pm and i haven't picked up the furniture yet, I asked to talk with the manager and she said that SHE IS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF NEBRASKA FURNITURE!
I Have made 4 seperate purchase's over the last year. 1)Stairway bunkbed was missing parts, and cracked on delivery. Took 2 months to correct the ploblem and all the wrong parts they sent we were in charge of disposing of.
OK, this is a new low. I received a $25 gift certificate in the mail on Monday 2/14/11. So, I drove to the NFM, picked out a couch, and at checkout was told that the gift certificate expired on 2/8/11, 6 days prior to me receiving it. I was so upset at the wasted 4 hours, that I did not complete the purchase. I am interested in knowing how many others did the same as me, but completed the purchase anyway. This is pretty lousy marketing if you ask me. I am in the current mind to never shop there again. That's all I have to say.
I just love shopping at NFM. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and wish that we had a Nebraska Furniture Mart there but it is a nice drive from Tulsa to Kansas City and I have relatives very close to NFM. Nebraska Furniture Mart makes shopping for our new home in Tulsa a delight. I have purchased several items to put in our home and the discount is well worth the trip. It has the best selection of furniture, art, etc. and is easy to find my way around in. The sales staff is very friendly and acccomodating.

This has been the worst customer service experience of my life. I purchased a set of bunk beds for my daughters on the 10th of may and I was told they would be in on the 29th. It is now 17 Sept and I have once again been told that they havn't shown up. I have been told time and time again that they would be in on a specific date only to have them tell me that they don't know where they are.
My wife and I have purchased several high dollar items from NFM. Most of have been delivered and most have arrived either 1) extremely late or 2) somehow defective/damaged. The first and second time we thought ""must be a fluke, everyone loves the place""...until we called customer service and were told constantly given the run around no matter what the issue was. The only redeeming qualities and the only reason we returned were the selection and price...both are hard to beat. In the end, we have managed to make them repair/ replace the goods...but never without hassle. On the other hand, I have spoken with others who have had zero problems...

I have had great experience at NFM everytime I've been there. From a living room set, a
Dining room table, a mini fridge. Fantastic products and fabulous service.
I was driving by one day and saw a big red banner outside the front of the store, "" EVERYTHING ON SALE ! NO EXCEPTIONS"". I thought great, there was some things I was wanting to get for gifts. First was a Play Station for the grand-kids. I asked how much they was on sale for and I was told they are sold at their (everyday) low price. I said the sign outside said everything was on sale and I was told again, that is their everyday low price.
After discussing this with the sales person they told me if i didnt like it to go find it cheaper else where, if I could. So i went and picked up some PC software and went to the register. Guess what, It rang up at the regular price. Again i asked about the sign outside. And I was told to talk to customer service. At that time I was in no mood to talk to anyone and left the store. I called back the next day and low and behold, know one knew anything about the big red banner. I drove to the store and sure enough, it was gone. I went inside and was told ""if"" there was a sign that stated that it would have listed exclusion at the bottom for items not on sale.
So, I asked, You have a sign that reads "" EVERYTHING ON SALE ! NO EXCEPTIONS""
and you are going to list exclusion on it?
Nothing was ever resolved with this, no apology, only excuses and lame explanations....
With Best Buy open now across the street, they'll get my business....

bought a verizon wireless phone from the cell phone station at nebraska in april. after about 20 days I decided I didnt like the phone and wanted to cancle my contract and was even willing to stay with the company with a different phone. Thanks to NFM employees Karl Jones and Matt Pardrige Verizon wireless lost a customer. They said they wouldn't take the phone back because it has about a 1/4 inch of paint rubbed off the battery cover front sliding it in and out of my pocket. I took the phone to the shawnee store and they laughed saying there was no reason to refuse a refund so I went back to nebraska, told them what the corporate store told me and they still said no. Then when manager Karl Jones came to speak with me he said since I was frustrated with the service that they were not willing to help me and basically tossed my phone onto the counter and walked off. I called verizon customer service and they took care of everything.There is no way I will EVER buy ANYTHING front Nebraska Furniture Mart again. I told verizon wireless that the people working there represented their company in a horrible way. They employees in shawnee were willing to give me the shirt off their back to help me out they were excellent, so if you're going to go with verizon save yourself the trouble and dont waste your time on Nebraska furniture mart.
