The Great Wolf Lodge is a great concept -- an indoor waterpark that can be enjoyed year round, even in the cold Kansas winters. The reception area and rooms in the lodge are a nice, rustic theme. Prices, however, are expensive, and multiple-night stays are often required. The water park also offers little for adults; it is steamy and feels a bit cramped, and most of the attractions are too small for adults to use, so, despite their "romantic getaway" package, this is not a good location for couples without children. It is geared to children, children are everywhere and peace and quiet is non-existant.
We visited the lodge on a Sunday night and the crowd's were not to bad. There is a huge variety of slides given the size of the place. The amount of activities for the children are great. The only downside is there is almost too much to do in one overnight stay. We plan on going back.
This place is great fun for the whole family with all of the different water slides and the lazy river. We took the family here to stay for a night so the kids could play in the water park and we had a blast. There is so much to keep the kids occupied and the best part is that it is all inside. If you get a chance make sure and visit for a night or two.
We haven't actually stayed the night at the Great Wolf Lodge, but last week we got the opportunity to try out the water park with some friends of ours. Our 2 year old and 4 year old loved it! It was nice to be able to swim in a warm aquatic center when it was freezing outside. The lazy river was my son's favorite activity, while my daughter liked to go down the slides in the small pool. I personally loved lounging in the hot tub!
We stayed for story hour at 8pm, which was such a treat for the kids! Seeing the animals and the tree come to life and sing and dance to a story they told us was a magical experience!
I heard on the news that the resturant was shut down because repeat offenses to not following health code. There is no way that I would eat there! Once my brother and his family heard about this they cancelled their stay at the "lodge". This place is fairly new, why in the world would they be so lazy, not to clean up the kitchen? Gross
Hubby and I went here about 3 years ago, or shortly after they opened. Make sure your patio door is TRULY locked! Our housekeeper left it unlocked.
The water is warm and comfortable. There are many things to do to keep you occupied in the water.
Our room had two double bed and a hide a bed.
PROS: Warm water
CONS: High prices on "extras"
It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!
