Ratings_icons Amazing Lab-Fabulous People behind it

Michael M.

I opened my studio in 1972 and started with Millers in 74. These were the days of photographic mystery when Joe Public was lucky to get one print to turn out from a roll. Millers Studio was lead by Mr. Bill Miller, a photographic businessman, that decided to offer color processing to a few other professional photographers. The quality was unmatched and the pricing fair. Bill later involved his Son in Law and his Son, welcoming them in with the idea that Millers would become a landmark within the photographic industry. Under their leadership, Dick Coleman, and Richard Miller have fulfilled the dream. Over the years Millers has expanded services and and added facilities yet have maintained the quality of service that Bill envisioned when he started the business so many years ago. I worked within the wedding, portrait, and commercial areas of the business and Millers was always there If I had a question concerning film and needed advice on exposures. Their training facilities at both of their labs and the online references are top drawer and available to their clients.

I was amazed that they opened Mpix, but that division doesn't offer all of the services the Lab has to offer. In the reality of todays market, I applaud them for the foresight to see a market and yet not offer their total package to the public. You must realize that the this expansion has allowed them to continue to be an asset to the Professional in a disappearing profession. I will continue to use Millers and reccomend them to any Professional that needs the best Color, Processing, and Service.

Ratings_icons Prints are GREAT high quality but MPIX Press postcards are poor

Annette M.

I have done all my professional prints thru MPIX and have been more than satified - actually quite pleased with their prints and matted prints. Very professional.

Unfortunately, I placed an order MPIX Press - (seperate from MPIX) a postcard and it was the most awful, pixelated, washed out print I have ever seen - my printer at home would be 100 x better than these. Horrible.

I am giving the MPIX Press a second chance and trying to see if they will reprint - also just ordered business cards thru them - we'll see if MPIX Press is just really bad or someone made a mistake.

In closing - MPIX prints and matted prints are incredible - and a great value....but MPIX Press is not worth using at this point.

Ratings_icons Mpix: Low Quality Standards for the Professional Industry

Trevor M.

As a professional photographer, I look for the highest quality and color consistency available in the industry, and unfortunately Millers' branch called Mpix does not live up to those standards.

When I started my business a few years ago, I turned to Mpix for my photographic printing needs, and was quite impressed. As my order volume increased and I started doing more reprint orders, I started to notice that the color was off between multiple orders of the same images and many of the prints came back looking very soft.

Mpix hypes their new line of Press Printed Products to be the latest and greatest thing to come from their lab. Yet again, Mpix disappoints when it comes to quality. After ordering a few postcard sized press cards, I received my order expecting to see accurate color, high-quality heavyweight paper and accurate crops. Unfortunately, this was not so. The color was waaayy off and the paper they used was flimsy and practically unusable. Not something I would ever send to a client.

Is Mpix a good deal? Sure. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. Their prices are low, and so is their quality.

Would I recommend that you make photographic & press prints from No. White House Custom Colour (WHCC) is a far more professional lab, with the highest quality and consistency standards in the industry. If you are a professional photographer looking for excellent customer service, consistency and high quality press & photographic prints, turn to WHCC and you won't be disappointed.

Ratings_icons Changing the way they do business

Millers has always been a company that you have to fill out a application to have your work developed there. They launched a new department called MPIX. A normal joe on the street can now download their digital pics & have them mailed to you as professional quality prints & extremely good turn around time.

PROS: Turnaround time
CONS: Cant think of any
