I had a horrible morning. I went out to water my flowers last summer before my granddaughters came for the day and my water spicket in the back of my house broke. I do not know how something like this happened, But I called Polestar and Left a message on the answering service and someone called backed promptly. They had my water turned back on and everything was fine by 10am. I will not call anyone else for my plumbing. Thank you Polestar
I've been with Polestar for years. When working I could always leave a key for furnace and air conditioning service with complete trust.
After a devastating hail storm this year my insurance adjuster said I needed a new roof, new garage door, new gutter guards and a new screen for my air conditioner.
All was fixed except the air conditioner had a new top with fan and nothing else done. After calling Polestar, Jon came and looked it over and said there was more damage than that, took a picture, and contacted my insurance company. I got a new air conditioner. Thank you Polestar for your great work!.
Several days before the last cold front came into our area I had scheduled my annual furnace inspection. I have used Polestar for 10 years and two addresses. This was a new move for me so I was especially anxious about the 26 year old furnace. Cracks were found that were missed by the 'home inspector'. I was shown the printout of information confirming the potentially dangerous situation for my family. Everything necessary to replace my furnace was carefully explained to me. Two days later I had a new furance, installed by professionals. A month later a followup visit was conducted to make sure of my satisfaction and that the furnace was working properly for my needs. I have recommended Polestar to friends and family and would not hesitate to use them again.
We built on a room addition this past summer. For the heating and cooling aspect of the job, our contractor obtained an estimate from his usual HVAC contact person. That person wanted to add entire new furnace and a/c units just for the 380 sq ft room. So I had my contractor request an estimate from Polestar which I have used for almost 25 yrs. Polestar came out, assessed the situation, said my existing furnace and a/c could handle the additional space, sumbitted a reasonable estimate, and landed the job. And they did a GREAT job installing the needed duct work. The temperature in the new room has been comfortable throughout the different seasons.
We needed to replace our dated furnace and air conditioner. We decided to go with Lennox. The bid we received was fair ( better, by far, than others we got) and the instulation was completed in one day just ahead of some cold weather. The crew was friendly and polite. They even took the time to throw the ball for our two Dachshunds. So far everything is working well. A follow up inspection was just completed yesterday. Looking forward to some lower energy bills.
We have had Polestar servicing our heating and airconditioning system for several years and they have been very good.
Recently while servicing our units for the coming winter, a leak in the air conditioner inside coil unit was discovered. After explaining all our options to us we elected to install new units.
The work was done as scheduled in one day. They explained the operation and maintenance and cleaned up all the mess.
We are completely satisfied.
Pole Star was so simple to wok with. I explained my issues over the phone, then came out and gave me a price, we scheduled a day to get the work done and everything went off without a hitch.
Price was very fair and everything else was very professional. The hand written thank you card we got in the mail a couple days after the work was completed was a classy touch!
I won't go anywhere else for my plumbing needs but Pole Star!!!
Polestar was very easy to communicate with, and they responded to my emails quickly. I had three bids for a new A/C unit with coil, and Polestar was the cheapest and most polite and understanding. They came out right away, within 24 hours of my A/C failing, to replace the unit. My home was 93 degrees indoors! They were courteous and made effort to communicate with me (I am deaf) and even brought out another guy who knew sign language to be able to communicate/interpret for me. Pretty Cool.
I have been a Polstar customer for many years, and do not know what I would do without them. The owner, manager, staff and service people are friendly, prompt and trustworthy. When I call (even in the evening after hours or on the weekend), I always get immediate service They are outstanding in an emergency situation as well as for general maintenance. They keep my house in top running condition. I have, and will continue, to recommend them.
Our air conditioner went out on July 29, while the KC area was still experiencing 100+ degree temperatures. We called Polestar and they were out the very next morning to asses the problem. It was determined that our AC unit was beyond reasonable repair. Mike sat down with us and clearly described potential options for a new AC unit as well presenting the significant cost savings in replacing our old furnace (27 yrs old) at the same time. Mike also did a nice job of describing the savings we should see in our heating and cooling bills after installing the new high-efficiency Lennox units. After agreeing to a contract, Polestar was out to install both units the very next day. This rapid response was greatly appreciated considering them temperature in our house was close to 90 degrees.
The installation crew was professional, courteous, and completed the job in only 4 hours. Thanks Polestar, we will gladly recommend you to others.
Last August, Polestar replaced my full HVAC system during the height of the summer heat. Their service was prompt and friendly. They did a good job, but did not "wow" me. Their attention to some of the finer details was lacking, but the job got done and in the end, I had a cool house once again.
Fast forward to today...
I just had these guys out to perform a spring inspection of my system. During his testing, the tech, Jimmy, found that the AC did not work (heat had been fine all winter) and also noticed some issues with their original install. He explained everything that he saw wrong, quickly made arrangements to send a service man out the next morning to address those issues, and then even showed back up to personally inspect the results. It is important to note that Jimmy said "These are issues and I want to fix them for you. I want you to be 100% satisfied". I did not have to beg, ask, or negotiate. They fixed and dressed up everything inside and out and exceeded my expectations.
The customer service shown by Jimmy and Dennis was world class. I can see and feel the "wow"!
This was a terrible summer to have our air conditioner fail, but a neighbor recommended we call Polestar Plumbing. They diagnosed our problem and, based on their findings, we decided that it was time to replace both of our units. The team of installers worked 12 hours on one of the hottest days of the summer to get us up and running. Mike is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions and present us with all the information we needed to make an informed decision.

A friend recommended Polestar (the company they used) when my air conditioning in my house went out after a long heat wave. I had a checkup from another company a few weeks earlier and all of a sudden my air conditioning went bad so I wanted a second opinion. Polestar came the next day, discussed the quote I received from the other company, offered better equipment at the same price and installed my new unit within a few days. I've been a Polestar client for many years. They have replaced my heat pump, hot water heater, and sump pump along with replacing several facets and repairing major plumbing issues. The guys are always friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and trustworthy. When I call, I always get immediate service. I can confidently say you will not go wrong with their service.
We have used Polestar for several years for our AC/Heating service. This summer when out AC went out in the middle of 108 degree weather, they were there that day and had it all replaced within 24 hours. The offered 3 very fair and reasonable options for both AC and furnace with discounts, rebates, service plan and financing options. We have used Polestar Plumbing since we bought our house back in 2009. We have continued to use them for all of our hvac, and plumbing needs. The latest was the death of our ac. They were out and fixed it that day. When it is 103 degrees outside I needed them to do this fast and they got it done. Thanks Polestar.
We have used Polestar Plumbing for about 20 years and have always found them reliable. On a recent visit, Mark make the remark to us that he didn't need to ask us how to get to our basement when he came into our home. We trusted them to do some work for us while we on vacation one time.
We have gotten service from Polestar for a few years for AC/Furnance maintenance, replacing hotwater heater and sump pump. This spring's maintenance technician told us that our AC/Furnace was getting close to the end of its life and might require replacement soon. Sure enough about 10 days ago the AC failed. I called them around 7:30 PM Friday and the technician came the following morning just after 8 AM. He explained what was wrong with the AC and the replacement was what we had to do. Within an hour the sales guy called with the proposal and we had the new AC/Furnance installed by 3 PM that afternoon, within 24 hours of contacting them. The price was a bit higher than we expected but their service was excellent. A week later another technician came to make sure everything was installed properly. They all are service-oriented and friendly. I would recommend them to our friends and neighbors.
I have worked with Polestar since we moved into the KC area back in 1994. They were recommended by a neighbor who said " I just leave the house unlocked if I won't be home when Polestar is scheduled to come out". That's who I wanted, a trustworthy company to do work in my home.... We have been in 3 homes since that time and they have done all the work for us. They have been great in emergency situations as well as the general maintenance on ac/heating and plumbing. There have been several times during the heat of summer or the bitter cold of winter that I needed help with equipment asap. They do their very best to get out that same day, if humanly possible. Their prices are very fair and reasonable. All the technicians are extremely knowledgeable. You can't go wrong with Polestar.....
We used Polestar last year when our AC wasn't cooling our home properly. At that time they replaced 2 different parts and installed a hard start kit, and this cost us nearly $600. This year when we were having problems again with the house not cooling properly, we called Polestar again. This time we had freon leaks and they recommended we replace the AC system. We ended up replacing the furnace too since both systems were the same age, but we were pleasantly surprised when they offered to "buy back" the parts they installed last year and deducted the $600 from the total of the new units. They were able to get the new system installed the same day (worked from 3pm til just after 8pm). We noticed some vibration coming from the system in the room above it, but Mike was able to adjust something and now the vibration is 90% better. All in all we've been happy with the service we've received from Polestar.
My experience with this company was very good. I found them on the internet after being quoted ridiculously high prices for parts from another well known heating/cooling company that obviously spends ALOT of money on advertising and has to pay for it somehow I guess. I called Polestar to buy parts. I will start by saying I called on Saturday morning at 7:15 hoping they would be open later in the day since the furnace had messed up over night and it was rather cold in the house. A REAL person answered the phone at 7:15 and was VERY helpful in diagnosing the problem and they had the part in stock for 1/3 the cost that I was quoted the afternoon before. I went to pick up the part as they are a LOCALLY OWNED business and were actually open that day. Before it was over, I had taken a lot of the guys time having them explain the different systems that I had choices of for when I wanted to replace the system. I left happy with my parts. The more I thought about it, I decided to just replace the unit. They scheduled someone in to install the new system for a day later on Monday. Guys showed up 1 minute ahead of schedule which is great since folks here in KC seem to have issues with showing up at all sometimes. Unit was installed/tested by that afternoon. Techs were very polite and knowledgeable and cleaned up after themselves. My family had a very good experience with this company and recommend them to others. They are a Premier Lennox dealer and can have parts/entire systems in a very short amount of time since one of the distributorships for Lennox is based here in KC. Give them a shot before you just call one of the great advertising companies. what you see/hear is not what you always get.....

My wife and I recently replaced our heating and cooling system. We had four bids and decided to go with Polestar Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. We are glad we did! We made our discussion based on price, equipment offered, and initial customer service. I had a lot of questions after researching which equipment would be best for our home. Jon was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all of my questions and explaining which system would be best for us. They were quick to get us scheduled and showed up professional, courteous, and on time. I was very impressed with their hard work, quality of work, and attention to detail. They did an amazing job with follow up as well. They made an appointment to ensure that everything was working properly and answer anymore question we had. We are so happy with our new system and it has greatly improved the comfort of our home.
I have been using Polestar for regular maintenance of our heating and airconditioning systems for several years. Recently our furnace failed on a cold day on which I had to leave town on a trip. Polestar responded promptly, assessed the problem, and prescribed necessary replacement equipment. I had to leave early, but left with full confidence that my wife would have a warm house by the end of the day. Before the day was over, new equipment was installed and working. Our house is now more comfortable than it had ever been since we bought it 15 years ago.
I am very pleased with the new Lennox furnace and coil from Polestar.
A lot of people only leave bad reviews, I believe if you should reward someone for doing a great job.
The installers did a professional job and everything we had contracted with John Erickson (sales rep.) and more.
The installers took the time to show my wife how to use the new programmable thermostat and and went above and beyond and installed a filter rack accessible from the outside of the furnace to make it easier to change filters.
John was very helpful in explaining different options and rebates for a new furnace and coil.

Polestar replaced my old furnace and AC 6 years ago. They did an outstanding job with the installation. I have used them for the annual service agreement ever since and have been very pleased. Recently when I needed a new water heater they were the ones I called and again with great results. I tell all my friends and coworkers if they need replacements or service Polestar is the one to call.
We had to replace our furnace and we had 4 different companies come to give us a bid. Polestar Plumbing Heating & Cooling, who we called because they are members of the BBB, was the most knowledgeable of all of them. They gave me multiple options as well as their recommendations. Their bids were inline with the other companies, but on a far more professional level. They showed up on time to do the work. They actually took the time to remove some previous shoddy work done years ago, and rebuilt it the way it should have been in the first place. This took them longer than they had planned, but they all had the same attitude about it...we do it right! They reconfigured our zone heating and thermostats and in 18 years, we have never had such even heat in our house and a humidifier that actually works! We are very pleased with both their work and their work ethic and highly recommend them.
I wanted to let you know that your technicians did an outstanding job of installling the new air conditioner unit. They were very professional, courteous, and did a very professional and complete job, above and beyond expectations. I will certainly use Polestar on any future requirements.

In 2010, we had our furnace replaced through Polestar. Done professionally, efficiently and terrific technicians. This year with the hailstorm in April we had damage to our air conditoner. We called Polestar for an estimate, one of 3. Best price and quickly handled through the company. I highly recommend Polestar from every standpoint. Courteous, fair, efficient and again the techs were so friendly. They went above and beyond what was needed to install the unit. I hope we dont need them any time soon...but when and if we do they will be the ones we will rely on.
I wanted to replace my Furnace and Air conditioner with a High Efficient Furnace and Heat Pump. I spoke with several local companies. We wanted to replace our furnace and air conditioning system with high effciency units. Jon listened to our situation and suggested options with reasonable prices. We decided on high efficiency units - the installation team was very good - they quickly handled any obstacles and cleaned up after the installation. My wife is very happy with the system and installation - happy to report that our energy use has decreased even during this cold winter. We highly recommend Polestar.
We were looking at replacing our A/C in time to qualify for the Energy Credits for 2010. I had previous experience with Polestar several years ago duing an ice storm so decided to call them. Our rep was informative and explained that replacing just the A/C on our 14 year old system was not a wise decision as it could not be retro-fitted to get the efficiency we needed and to get the Energy Credits. We decided to replace our Lennox system with another Lennox system. Their workmen were topnotch when replacing our old furnace and A/C. The system has performed as promised, along with cutting our heating bills tremendously compared to the old system. We can't wait to see how our A/C bills get cut this summer! We would recommend Polestar to anyone!

Oneof the owners sold us a story. We needed a whole new AC and furnace. It was installed quickly. Since 2009, the AC was not working properly. Now it's 61 degress in our home and 2 outside, with 4 small children, and I called becuase it doesn't seem like the furnace is working. The same owner that sold me the $5k package, was now rude. He told me that we should have renewed our service agreement, and what a deal we received getting the first year of service for free. And that labor was not covered and that I would need to pay for labor and a service agreement, When I tried to explain that I paid $5k and should be treated like a good customer and asked him to stop interupting me, he told me that he didn't have to do anything and would not send anyone out. Well, you sold me a story and now have our money. I am sad that I trusted you and your company. It's a lesson learned. To others I would say, please, before you do anything talk to at least one other company. Get quotes. Get references. The install is the easy part. It's the aftermath that you want someone you really know and can trust. It will be time worth spent before you do any business with Polestar.

Recently my husband and I decided to have a complete replacement of all of our heating and cooling equipment. We did ample research and obtained bids from several companies. Although Polestar was not the cheapest of all the bids, the quality of the products and the helpful nature of the Sales Manager who talked with us (on multiple, multiple occasions) convinced us that Polestar was the right choice. They gave us multiple options while being upfront about the quality and what to expect from each.
Once the decision was made, they wasted no time in installing all of the equipment to the standards indicated in the initial proposal. Everyone from the Sales Manager who assisted in our decision, to the front desk who called to tell us the technicians were on their way and to keep us updated on the progress, to the technicians that installed the equipment were top notch. The equipment is installed and my husband and I could not be happier with the results!
About three weeks ago I noticed my garbage disposal was making funny noises everytime I used it and after a week or so I decided to call a plumber to come take a look at it. I immediately called Polestar Plumbing Heating and Air because my neighbors told me they have really good deals and have really great people at that company. I called them up and within a week I had an appointment set up and a technician out at my house. They had to end up replacing my garbage disposal because it was completely rusted. They replaced it for a very reasonable price. The technician that came out was very kind and helpful. He seemed to have a lot of knowledge in this field. I would recommend Polestar Plumbing Heating and Air.

Would not recommend this company, they only want jobs and projects they make big money on. Would be totally careful if a home owner. They do not want to to business with people who they cannot over-charge. I heard the General Manager Speak to a service tech so hateful, the tech was so upset. I agree with the reviews stay away and make sure you obtain 3 bids before choosing any company. Rude-Rude- Men Run this company!

We had been looking for gas fireplace logs for awhile and 2 years ago bought from Polestar. From day one they didn't work right - overheated and had to put new parts in. ALWAYS kept the glass doors open when using. By the second winter they quit again. I thought the parts would be under warranty. WRONG. Told me I didn't take my glass doors off and that is why it overheated. I told them I had them open every time I ran it, which wasn't much because it uses a lot of gas. Special occasions only and the owner said he could put new ones in for $1400. The original cost $1600. The tech felt real bad and I could tell by the way he was acting that he felt it was a rip off that he didn't even bother giving me the $200 bill for the cleaning of the furnace. They have also worked on our rental properties and ripped us off quite often. Last year we had a clogged drain in one home and they came out twice and wanted to run a new line, charge us a bundle and then guess what it still doesn't work.
I will NEVER use them again.

Two weeks ago my air conditioner went out. I called around to several places but Polestar was the only company that would come out within the week! I was hesitant to use them because of the reviews but after checking with the Better Business Bureau and checking their availability I decided to give them a shot. They came out the next morning and diagnosed the problem - I had several parts that needed replaced. They searched for the parts and a warranty issue came up. After calling several different locations they found that necessary paperwork hadn't been submitted by the company who installed my unit so the warranty was not valid. After more calling around they found a distribution company that would honor the warranty. Their perserverance saved me a lot of money and a lot of time and I will definitely be getting a service plan from them so I can continue with their excellent service!

Awful. They tried to rip me off. Told me I need a total new air unit. It would cost $2,500. They said no point in trying to do a repair and that he was the owner, so he knew what he was talking about. Called a different company and they fixed my unit for $200! That was over a year ago, and it is working great. Therefore, it is clear the entire thing was a con and a scam! I even called him back to tell "the owner" about it, and he hung up on me.
