I find that many of Food Citys' check-outs are young, school or college age kids who are lacking in respect for customers, largely indifferent and lackluster in deportment.
The meat department is 2nd rate in my opinion. I bought a Christmas ham which on opening was slimy and unacceptable. I returned it and was given another, which incredibly was also slimy and unacceptable. I fed it to my dogs and just gave up. In fairness, I was offered a refund the first time.
Food City is located on Morton Blvd. They have a gas 'n go in the parking lot. They also have an in store floral department, movie rental, pharmacy and deli. They have plenty check out lanes open so you do not have to wait in line long. They also have baggers and will help you to your car, which is rare these days. And unlike most stores where it is hard to find employees to help you, you don't have that problem at Food City. There employees are plentiful and knowledgeable. There prices are competitive and they are a coupon friendly store :)
The only fault I have with Food City is it can at times be difficult to get out of there parking lot.
The Food City Gas 'N Go is an awesome pit stop for gas. They usually have the lowest price in town plus they have a lot of pumps to help get the customers in and out as fast as possible. The Gas 'N Go also stocks food and auto neccessities at reasonable prices. The Food City Gas 'N Go is my pick for gas stations.
