i had problems with my car and gave them a few suggestions on what it may be. they had my car for two days and could'nt figure it out. they supposedly had there best man on it and he wanted to rip out my transmission and do "exploratory surgery". I immediatly said "NO! Stop what your doing right now!". The next day i switched out my recently replaced aftermarket thermostat with a GM one and had'nt had any problems in over 6 months. I normally would say that this was an honest mistake but i told them i recently replaced my thermo with an aftermarket one. and all these guys did was belittle my intelligence and wanted huge payday only i was'nt going to be there sucker! All I have to say is BEWARE! THESE GUYS WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!
Hi I have bought a couple cars from Rod Hatfield and they will be my last . Vince the head chief in charge is an a*** hole he thinks his poop dont stink .My last purchase needed to have a scratch fixed when I was negociating buying the car they told me whenever I could bring it in tthey would fix it ,now they say I only had thirty days.I would recommend Rod Hatfield if you need to buy some drugs pills, pot, cocaine, whatever .you need they are doing right there.I will recommend the cheverolet dealer in winchester they fixed the scratch for hardly anything.
We bought our first new car from Rod Hatfield, a 2011 Chevy Cruze LT, and it is awesome! They were polite, patient and were not pushy like some car dealerships. Our salesman, Josh, was very knowledgeable about the automobiles, and helpful in understanding all the sales transactions. We didn't spend the entire day waiting for the paperwork to be processed like other places we have purchased used cars from. We will go back to this dealership in the future. They are excellent in all areas and the friendliest group of people we have ever met!!! Go Rod Hatfield!!!
My mother purchased a 2011 Cruze from Lawrence and he was a wonderful guy. No pressure and made the experience very fun and pleasurable. They got the payments where she was comfortable with and the car is WONDERFUL. Will definatly be back and will refer all our family and friends to Lawrence and the Dealership.
I bought a pre-owned Mitsubishi for my daughter. Ryan Smithton, the Sales Manager is amazing!!! He is polite, courteous and amazingly honest!!! Many times over the sales process Mr. Smithton was reassuring and knowledgable!!! No pressure, no wise cracks!! Plain good old fashion customer service!!!! Way to go Ryan!!!
Bought a used car & in less than 24 hours it needs over $300 in repairs. Side mirror came loose less than 30 minutes after driving off the lot as it was glued in place. The rear view mirror has to be replaced completely & the fuel gauge doesn't work at all. I wish I had looked into this dealership before buying from them. They wont take the car back because it was sold 'as is'.

Went to Rod Hatfield to purchase my 10th vehicle. I have always driven a GM vehicle. I moved from out of state and was attempting to turn a lease in. After repeatedly informing the salesman of what I was looking for, before my arrival and at my arrival and during my arrival, and spending 2 hours and two test drives later, walked out with nothing but an OBNOXIOUS, IGNORANT SARCASTIC HOSTILE RUDE verbal assault from either the General Manager or Finance idiot. I have never been treated so rudely from even a fast food chain. This dealership who represents General motors needs to lose their dealership. I would recommend anyone but these idiots. After simply asking for my vehicle keys back, I was told not to be aggressive with him. Asking for my keys is aggressive? You just wasted my time and made my husband late for work, and offered me one of their smallest cars for $379.00. I hope a very large percentage of people read these reviews and hope it affects any other possible sales in the future for this dealer. They dont deserve it. I am signing tomorrow on another car and was treated with respect and talked to like a person not a dog. Unfortnately after driving a GM product for 29 years, I bought a Toyota.
This is the worst dealership I have ever had any dealings with. After reading all of these bad reviews I would like to share mine. After dealing with a sales manager name Jake for two weeks going back and forth haggling with this guy I decided i would just forget the deal he never agreed to. So he calls me again and I told him I was not interested anymore and he started leaving rude messages on my cell phone and home phone. He is so unprofessional I would never buy from a dealership that let there employees talk to and harass customers like this. What I dont understand as many complaints that have been said about this guy why dont they get rid of him. Stay clear from this dealership until they show a little respect to there customers and get rid of this guy!!
Bought a 2004 Mercedes Ml350 90,000 miles. Drove it 32 miles and the CHECK ENGINE light came on. Then we started going over the car the power mirrors wouldnt work ad it leaks oil whenparked over night. Took the car back to them and they told us to unhook the battery to clear the code. The manager also said we should have bought an extended warranty offered by rod hatfield. They are CROOKS.
When my daughter needed to purchase a car, she went to Rod Hatfield Chevrolet. She informed them that she was in college and needed a reliable car that would be good for the long run. They ensured her that they would fine a good car for her. She took a VW bug for a test drive, and there were several warning lights on the panel, one of which was a coil symbol (glow plug- the car was diesel). She asked what it was and was told it was the seat belt warning light. (I've never seen a coiled seat belt before). After the test drive she mentioned that she wanted to have the car looked at by an outside mechanic, and they were adamant (as if hiding something) that the car was looked over by their 'certified mechanics'. She took their word and bought the car, and turns out that the clutch started to go out. When we had it checked over by a mechanic he said there was over $2,000 worth of problems with the car. They informed us of these issues and in their own words, said, "Thank you, [our mechanic] just wanted to let you know what all he found in case you didn't want to put any money into the car." If the mechanic suggested we probably shouldn't put any money into the car, it must be bad! We took it back and they said they would allow an even trade in, or find one that might even be less in cost than the one she purchased, and that she might get some money back, and to check back by the end of the week. After calls from her, and myself, we've been given the run-around, and she was finally told today that her car was not worth $4,500 (what she paid for it), and that to find a car of that value to trade in would be difficult. So now they are admitting that the car was not worth what she paid for it, and are going back on their word to allow a trade-in. When you are there, they talk a good talk, but they don't follow through to make things right for their customers. There is much more I could write, the story goes on and on, but I'll stop here.
If i could rate this any less then one star, i would. I am so disappointed with this business that i can barely write this. I was "Approved" for a 35,000 dollar loan toward a very nice truck. I drive it home that same night. A couple days later i call to ask a question and the salesmen tells me that something came up and i now have to pay 3,000 dollars or get a cosigner. I said "WHAT"! This is after i was "Approved" and after i had already signed paperwork? They did not even bother to call me to tell me? I guess they were just gonna wait till i noticed i was not getting a bill? I was so pissed that i threatened with layers and they told me to calm down and be patient and they would get it taken care of. So i assumed that they were working on it. WRONG! Almost an entire month after signing the papers on it, i call them to see what was going on. A woman in finance told me to hold and the next thing i know i am speaking with a totally different person who i have not spoken with about this at all telling me that some stuff fell through and and i ether have to find a a cheaper vehicle or have a cosigner. No i took option three and took the truck back. Its not so much that i am upset over having to have a cosigner as i am being told that i have been approved and then three weeks later "after becoming attached to the truck and believing it was mine" that i had to find a cosigner. It wrong, i was lied to, and i promise that i will never ever ever recommend this place to anyone whom so ever in the whole known world. Its ok though they are the ones who are out of luck. They lose a sale and all future sales from me, they paid for my first tank of gas, i have put more miles on the truck over the last month, and the truck is going back to them in its current condition, covered in salt and all the snow crap. I on the other hand leave with my old truck which is newer then this one and the payments are lower. Just don't go here. If you do you are only going to get screwed. By the way i discovered that what i was calling about in the first place was an issue with the rear door which was broken. THANKS FOR NOTHING CAR SHARKS!
This was honestly the worst expierence I have ever had to deal with. We bought a truck from them that was crap. Second day we had it the AC broke and both U-joints went out. Whatever .. we also had the truck for 8 months and we have still not recieved the title. They do not want to help. They suck
this company is a joke!
I bought a ford explorer from them, the staff were very freindly and helpful, until the papers were signed.
4 days later, the vehicle that I financed for 30,000.00 showed problems. The transmission which ran perfectly for 3 days needed rebuilt, costing me almost 6,000.00 in repairs.
I was told the next morning, after the papers were signed, they switched finance companies and to my disbelief, I was not told, this new finance company would not cover any warranty. I was told after I brought it in with transmission problems, that its not their problem anymore and take it to the dealer.
the salesman (todd) took it for a drive down the road, stopped and bought himself a coke with me in the vehicle and drove back!
now thats service!
I have never dealt with such a shady company before and would advise anyone who ever considers buying from them to bring a lawyer with you, your going to need it.
these are trained professionals, trained to screw you over any way they can.
AVOID ROD HATFIELD CHEVROLET 232 NEW CIRCLE ROAD!
I bought my Toyota 4Runner from Rod Hatfield Chevy. Highly recommend them. I did everything online so it went real smooth. Shopped around and found it on Autotrader.com. Called for appointment and they had SUV ready when I arrived. Just as advertised with prices, options, miles, etc. Couldn't have received any better service. Rod Hatfield Chevy made the whole car buying process QUICK & EASY!
We bought a used car from them 3 years ageo-terrible deal but we had bad credit. We were recently called by one of their salespeople. He talked to my husband and told him that they were calling previous customers and offering them a deal on a new car. My husband was very plain that we still owed on the car, the salesperson said that was fine and took the information. He called back and stated that the credit was ok and they would take the car on trade and with the rebates on a new car that there would be no money down and to come at 6:30 and the paperwork would be ready and we would be out in less than 1 hour, We got to the dealership only to be told that the salesperson had gotten sick and gone to the Urgent Treatment Center and would be right back. Another salespersn was going to help us. He took our car to be appraised. While he was gone, another salesperson told us that the one who had called us was onside "finishing another deal". Finally we were told that he had been "sent home sick". The bottom line is that our time was wasted-they could put us in a new car but suddenly they needed money down. My husband told the salesperson that he could get this deal anywhere in town and did not appreciate having our time wasted-DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP>
We made an offer on a car on the website and they called my husband and excepted it. They then ran the credit app. and said we were approved at a low rate. We live 3 hours away. We told them on Friday that we would be there on Saturday by 4 to pick up the car. We drove the 3 hours and were told they sold the car earlier that day! The salesman that sold it said well the guy paid cash!!! So after we throw a fit they go in and find another car at a dealer in the town we live in and sell it to us for the same price! We ask about all the options and are assured by 3 salesmen that it has them all that the other car had. When we did the paper work they asked us to sign the WE OWE paper so we questioned the options again and were told it had it all. So they did the paper work again with the new cars info on it and we signed and gave them a check for money down. They agree to get the car and deliver it to us. Then we get a call saying that the interest rate was incorrect but we still agree to the deal. Then they call and tell us it doesn't have the ground effects pkg that they assured us it had. So we agree to pay to have this added. When we asked them why they told us it had it 3 times they all denied it! Then they tell us the other dealer won't release the car right away that it will be a few more days. Then they call and say they don't have time to pick it up because they are having a big sell so it will be a few more days. Then they call a few days later and say they don't want the deal at all because we are going to give them a bad rating when Chevrolet sends out the survey!!!!!!! And I wonder why they would think this!!! I don't know how these people sleep at night. Hopefully this will all bite them in the butt one of these days soon!!! And it is funny there are so many comments on here about there dishonesty!
I am sooo upset with this place I just want my old car back!! These people found out I make over 50,000 a year and a woman and they definitely tried to stick it to me!!!A week ago I traded my car in and got a trailblazer. My credit is not fantastic so I agreed to the 18.9% of financing and was going to pay $489 a month. Yesterday I get a phone call from salesman who has yet to return my calls about something else that I needed to come down and sign some papers. He said quote"It's just something we forgot to have you sign,no big deal". I get down there and they increased the payments to $554, financed at 6 years instead of 5!!!!Are you freaking kidding me? This is not something I just forgot to sign!!!This is them trying to stick it to me thinking I am going to be stupid enough to sign this!!I told this guy I do NOT want this vehicle I will take my car back. He calls the salesman that sold it to me up there and that guy says are you sure you dont want it? Of course I am sure I dont want to spend $40,000 on a 2008 trailblazer with over 58,000 miles !!!!!!I I mean are you freaking kidding me?!!! So I follow this guy back to the used dealership and by the time I get there he tells me to take the blazer back home because the manager wants to help me and hes gone to come back in the morning. I surely hope the manager does not try to take advantage of me in any way because at this point they can just give me back my car and my money and I will drive home in my other car.
I will give an update when I get back home today!!!
I had a wonderful experience at Rod Hatfeild Chevrolet! I was undecided on what car best fit my needs and my price range, and the sales staff at Rod Hatfeild did a wonderful job helping me and making the right decision! I will definently go back when it is time to trade in my car!

Soon after I posted a negative review of Rod Hatfield Chevrolet the new owner/manager of the dealership contacted me and indicated that he was committed to offering excellence in service and professionalism. It was not long after this conversation that my mother took her car into this dealership for service. Sure enough, she indicated that the service and professionalism she received were excellent--in fact she said it was the best service she had received from any business in many years. Kudos to the new owner for making good on his commitment to excellence in service.
I live almost 2 hours away from these liars. I called to get preapproved and they did. Was very pleased until it came down to signing time. When they got a copy of my check stub and figured i had money they all of a sudden needed a thousand dollar down payment. That is very crooked and dirty where i come from. The down payment isn't that bad. But the direct lies is to much to deal with. Why are honest people not allowed to sell cars? P.S. I chose the 1 star only because it makes you choose one. But honestly these crooks are not worth the one star.

ROD HATFIELDS IS A JOKE!!!!! I understand that salesmen are supposed to be deceitful but they at R H CHEVY take the cake!!! a man mentioned earlier thinks he is HOTT STUFF BUT HE IS so NOT!!!! They promised us that they would only run our credit once, we had someother thins in the works that limited us on our credit being pulled... well needless to say, they ran it 5 times and soNOW THEY HAVE SCREWED ALL OF OUR OTHER THINGS UP FOR US!!! THANKS ROD HATFIELDS HATS OFF TO YOU... I really hope another car dealership in lexington runs you into the ground because I will get everyone I possible can to stay away from you crude, rude, deceitful, lying, people who have no regard for human morality.

They made a deal with us then had us dive over from out of town. When we got there we went with 0% financing. And we quailfied. Then the sales mananger tried to $1700 in on the deal. Without telling us. I caught it, and the sales manager got rude with us. We told them no deal and started to leave and the owner Vince was standing outside the sales manager told him we were being disrespectful, and the owner waved his hands toward the road and said let them go they dont matter. WE don't matter we were trying to buy vehicle then they tried to rip us off. The sales manager had the paper with the deal wrote on it and said thats my hand writing then said thats not the deal we made. Huh? Then next day the sales manager yelled at my wife on the phone. We've had to managers call us back trying to get us to come back. One of the managers even told me that JS the young sales manager gets a little hot headed at times. And they let this guy work there. Theres more to the story but, I'll stop here. One other note. I posted this on a couple local sites and have gotten several replies back with similar, and some worse, stories about this place. By the way I have bought 3 vehicles here in the past. And this is how they do me.

I really enjoy dealing with this dealership. Vince is top notch.... If he gives you an answer, consider it straight up. I'm still a fan after three purchases. Not something I could say about any other dealership. We have also sold vehicles before the GAP had run out, and did not hava any issues collecting the reimbursement. It did take a few weeks, but what coming from a corporate location dosen't? I also appreciate that they let the young guns work with the customer, but ride herd on them to make sure that they go about the sale correctly, again, unlike some other dealerships.
Also, to note, the service department is top notch, as well as the bodyshop. I have always had my calls returned and usually by the managers of those areas which makes me personally feel like my business matters.
This is one family's opinion, but it's an honest one.
