Worst of the Worst

I took my great dane puppy into Everygreen Animal Hospital to have his ears cropped. I took him there as when I called they assured us they are highly trained on this procedure with great danes.

The doctor, Brett Hornback, was a pompous ass from the beginning!

I dropped off my PERFECTLY HEALTHY PUPPY at 9:00 a.m. for a "common" procedure, at 2:00 p.m I received a call from Hornback telling me my puppy went into cardiac arrest on the table and died and they brought him back and he's now on fluids, we cannot perform the procedure on your dog as he doesn't have a tolerance from anesthesia. He then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't anything he did that the puppy could have heart problems, it could be something congenital, etc.. .... he will call me back when he knows more!

HOLD on ... Did he not test my dog before starting and giving my puppy anesthesia???? Blood Testing???? ANYTHING????

Im waiting.... still waiting... waiting again.. at 4:00 still nothing...
My husband calls and asks what is going on, they say a TOTALLY different story to him.

At 5:00 they call 3 times in a row and tell us to come get our dog as they close at 6:00 and rush him to the animal hospital (another one) as they believe him to have neurological issues or brain damage!!! And they can't have him here.

We go there ... The lady at the front continues to tell us a completely different story.
We ask WHY our dog has to be "rushed" to a different vet and why they don't have the capabilities of taking care of our puppy that they did this too?

The lady tells us she's bringing our dog to the front and our charge for what they did (tried to kill my dog) .. anesthesia.. etc comes to 550.00 , she proceeds to tell us she will need payment in full or they wont give us our dog or copies of the paperwork.

We tell them we want copies of the paperwork sent to another vet so we can check to make sure the puppy was not given too much anesthetic.. she spoke with the doctor and stuck with their "we cannot give you the dog or release paperwork until you have paid" ... they then said the records are property of this hospital and we do not have to release anything if we do not want to!

I said I don't understand why you wouldn't release the paperwork to another vet to check what you have done unless you have something to hide. He said he checked his work everything was done correctly it must be congenital or heart disease.. I said "wouldn't you check for this before surgery with bloodwork, etc." he said he did blood work and the dog was perfectly healthy.....
hummm well then I guess what he said earlier about the dog have previous issues doesn't fly here then... RIGHT!?
We believe fully the dog was given too much anesthetic and he wont release the paperwork STILL because he needs to cover up what he has done completely wrong!!

I could tell you more horrible things they said and did however I think this is sufficient to relay the message.

LONG story / Short... do not take your babies / animals to this horrendous doctor hornback / Evergreen Animal Hospital.

I've been taking my cat to Evergreen Animal Hospital for 5 yeras now. The service is exceptional! The cleanest animal cinic I've ever been to. I recommend Dr. Brett and Evergreen to all of my friends!!

The staff at Evergreen is very friendly and knowledgeable. The clinic is always clean and welcoming. They offer everything your pet could need and more! With service this great price is not an issue.

Wow, this place does it ALL.. And when i say all, i mean everything!! The staff is so nice as well. They do full service.. Laser Surgery, teeth cleaning, grooming and will even do housecalls!!! Prices are pricey, but its a one stop deal. Get every thing done at once. Great place for the animal lovers to bring there beloved pets!!
