I have been going to Cummings for several years. Not to be mean, something changed, & you need to act quickly with your pet

10 month pup showed signs of pain & weakness, not knowing reason, I took her first thing Monday. (Oct 25) She was thoroughly checked but no reason could be found. Running a fever. Gave steroid shot to calm pinched nerve, muscle relaxants & I should check back in a couple days

Steroid helped & she looked & felt better. Wore off last night, eye turned into massive third eyelid-blocking oozing red infection out of the blue. She was moaning in pain, high fever all night. Shower cold water & rags until offices opened at 8 (4 am)

This morning, Dr Cummings thought pancreatitis, blood work was needed. I left her in his care for the day & went home a nervous wreck

Called at 2 pm to check, she is ready to pick up. That quick? Pancreatitis serious requiring IV over days. Get no helpful answers

2:30, Dr gone. I ask Diabetes, the blood work, etc. I am told she has pancreatits, given an eye drop. I ask about glaucoma eye, oozing, & if they have given her antibiotic shot for her high temperature & obvious infected eye (draining green.) They did not give her any antibiotics, oral or shot, & no IV. Been there all day waiting, no treatment. I was shocked. If he thought that was his diagnosis, he should have been treating it

As I got ready to pay for the meds & blood test, hit dog was brought in by a frantic family. Front desk says, There is no Dr on site right now, & if you leave him, you have to leave a deposit. Dog is lying in arms! Back & forth goes on for 5 min, I say, Dont you think you need to stabilize him, he's obviously in shock! They take him back & hook the dog up on oxygen. I do not know these people, this seemed totally wrong to me

Seeing lack of emergency care, they had never gave any meds at all to my dog that was in pain & fever, I took bloodwork paper & head up to Flannary. Close to home, great reputation

I ask if Flannery can peek @ bloodwork & givea quick opinion, since he claims she had pancreatitis. Tech says IVs & overnight care. I said no IV all day & I was afraid she wouldnt make it another night with the fevers & they didn't give her an antibiotic shot

She comes back, NO POSSIBLE WAY from Cummings OWN BLOODWORK pancreatitis. All levels normal. Flannery explains bloodwork, checks her lymph nodes: MASSIVELY swollen, she cries, FINALLY know where pain is. Massive infection. Flannery says wrong bloodtest, only ELIMINATED ALL POSSIBLE ORGAN DISEASE which was HIS diagnosis based on bloodwork. Blood count, new test

Then the hit dog family from Cummings runs into Flannery. Tech says??dog is braindead.?Cummings vet clinic (not the Dr, he wasnt there, should have not seen him at all) charged $100 for IV & oxygen. When paid,"If you want him to make it, take him up the road." Didnt inform family he is braindead

Family in horror, dont want suffering, no more money. Flannery peacefully cares for his end no charge. Family feels like Cummings clinic got the money, sent them out braindead dog & nothing to do about it when there was no Dr to see him anyway! Shocking & sad!

Cant advise bringing in emergencies, they wanted the money without Dr or help. Cant advise bringing sick dog since Dr didnt look at bloodwork for diagnosis. New bloodwork Flannery ordered showed normal range of white blood cells 5 -16, hers whopping 31! Massive infection

Flannery gave antibiotic shot, stronger antibiotics. Rather than almost fatal pancreatits, its a bad infection, obvious cause of fevers & eye infection. Hopefully fine as soon as we can get on top of infection

She probably wouldnt have made another day without Flannery treating her right away.

If you want your dog to have right diagnosis or emergency care, please take her somewhere that can help. Still in disbelief, been coming here few years now. Husband says NEVER going there again, I honestly wish no one else would either. Sorry to be down. I might not have my puppy tomorrow if I had gone with his treatment (or nontreatment....) -Kathy G, Reidland

Dr. Cummings is a very good vetinarian . He has taken care of three boxer's for me. The dogs do not mind going to see him , and his prices are fair. He has a good line of dog products , foods and medications.

Yesterday (April 14) my family & I, went to Cummings for our miniature pinchers shots. We got in there got his shots, and headed home. In the car he was listlessly, he couldn't even hold his head up. When we got home I layed him down on
