Carmichael's Bookstore

Carmichaels is a great place to spend the afternoon reading and browsing. They have many guest authors especially local Kentuckians. The store is clean, well organized and the selection is good. Not as big as the big chain stores, but they make up for it in personnel.

PROS: Clean well lit store, friendly staff
CONS: Small selection, slightly higher prices on some things.

For those who love to read or just browse books then this is the place to be. Carmichaels first opened up on Bardstown Rd and offered books that you normally can not find in your bigger book retailers. If they don't have it they will definitely acquire a copy for you.
The prices are much more reasonable and this little gem opened here a year ago and draws in fans from all over the city. They have guest speakers who come in and bring alot of fanfare with them. Come see why everyone is talking about Carmichaels
