American Freight in Lexington Ky is horrible... I purchased furture to be deilvered over 1 month ago and still have not recieved it.... I am so tired of the run around... If I had the extra money I would have sued them... but you know how that goes... They don't believe in customer satisfaction and they are rude as hell! They will never get another dime from me...I beilieve the postive comments must have come from the people who work for them or something. I can hardly believe that anyone has been fully satisfied with them. PLEASE !!!!do not purchase from this company.....this advice will safe you time and money!!!!!!

I have bought a few things from them and most has been fine (kitchen chairs fell apart tho after a week's use). The 2 mattresses we've bought from them varied GREATLY from what you test out on the floor and have been junk. We first bought the NordicRest memory foam bed because I have fibromyalgia and I needed a bed that was medium firm/firm yet soft to lay on so I wasn't getting poked by springs. The queen sized one on the floor was heaven to lay on, the sides didn't crush to nothing when you got out you didn't sink into a hole either. The king sized one we had delivered was completely the opposite. T he sides crush down to about 3" thick when you get out and the hole you sink into has caused my hubby and I both to have back trouble now. Went back after a month, still within warranty, and was told "You should have bought the OrthoChiro", they refused to take back the other mattress and while laughing at me told me to come back when I had another $300 for the OrthoChiro. I went into full flair up with the Fibro so my hubby grudgingly went back to them, talked to the manager and found out our sales guy had been fired for deceptive practices but we still had to pay for a new mattress and they still wouldn't take the other one back -because- of the fired employees withholding info that caused us to void our warranty. The OrthoChiro is no better. Another piece of junk. We've flushed aprox $1000 on matresses here in 6 months. Don't bother. Oh and the OrthoChiro couldn't be returned the DAY AFTER PURCHASE because if you read the fine print closely that you can't see until AFTER purchase, you can only return mattresses sold in sets. Go to a real mattress store. You might pay $1000 for a set but it's not garbage like American Freight's.

I'm going to put it short and simple, they suck big time. Paid for my couch in full on July 3 2009 and now it is July 30 2009 and i still do not have my couch. they gave my the run around for a whole month, it was either "shipped to another location", or "out of stock at the moment". Please do not buy from them, I'm out 1200 and I have no couch.

Its been just 1 year and the sofa is unusable. The spring is gone and It hurts if you sit on it. It s definity the worst quality of furniture that you get there. They charm you by saying same delivery and low price but its probably the most inferior quality stuff available.. I will never ever suggest this place to anyone. You'll like it initially but its not more that 4-5 months that you'll enjoy it.. Might as well pay double the cost and have peace of mind.

Purchased a Sofa and Love Seat,the experience was crappy. I would pay two (2) times more from another store to avoid the experience with this bunch of scam artistsPaid for the Living room set and Coffee/ end table group together. when arrived to pick up they said they did not have in the warehouse and would be in on Monday or TuesdayWhen we paid for the group told the salesman that they were a wedding gift for my daughter and that her husband was in the Air Force and is moving to CaliforniaThey said they would hold the stuff for me till I picked it up so we could get it in their scheduled (by the Air Force ) move to CAWhen we arrived to pick up items they said they did not have any of it in stock and could not refund our money and would have to pick something else from their in stock items. They had the items on the floor and would not let us take those items in stead. WILL NOT BUY FROM THERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE STEP FOOT IN THE WAREHOUSE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!!

I do not know WHERE to begin with these reviews. There are so many people that will complain in a heart beat about a bad experience but hardly anyone that will write a good review on an excellent experience. I have had an EXCELLENT experience with this company. I received a flier from this company that states you can get a whole house full of furniture for ONLY $798. At the bottom of this flier it also stated that this company had same day delivery. I thought this was to good to be true so I called. The sales rep on the phone answered cheerful and I asked if this was true and they said yes to bring in the flier and they would show me all of the items. I was in the store within the hour and guess what? I was out in twenty minutes! I got a 5 pc livingroom package, 5 piece dinette, AND and bedroom set that included mattress set for exactly what the flier said. The delivery team was at my home same day as promised. I have and will continue to refer family and friends there.
Overall.... great prices, great quality, affordable prices!
Will shop here again when my sons room is ready!

American Freight in Mishawaka sucks we waited almost 3-4 weeks for our furniture they kept telling us it would be in soon! But still had to wait that long! Do not buying from these people they lie!

First let me say just because a person doesn't experience something personally doesn't mean that it can't happen. When I first walked in the store I was able to browse, and pick out what I wanted before I went to the counter for assistance. Giving credit where credit is due the salesman (Jesse Cols., Oh E. Main St. store) did say that my furniture wouldn't be in until the next week. I paid about seven hundred dollars for my bedroom suite, and upon agreement walked out empty handed. The next week came, the next week went. In the middle of the second I hadn't heard anything from the store, and called about my merchandise or if I needed to request my money back. Jesse said some but not all of the set had come in he could arrange delivery for what he had (the dresser, chest, and nightstand) to be delivered that day. I said okay but when my other stuff comes in will you guys deliver again without me paying twice. Shocked at hearing him tell me that I had to pick the remainder of my things up or pay another delivery fee when/if it comes in irritated me. When the delivery guy called my cell phone I didn't understand him, and asked who the caller was. The driver then in a nasty, rude manner yells back at me that I didn't need to know who it was all I needed to know was whether or not I was expecting a delivery or not. He argued on the phone with me for about thirty minutes or more before I hung up, and contacted the store. He was then instructed to call back, and apologize to save the sale. Long story short I paid for my furniture Feb. 23, 2009 today is Mar. 24, 2009, and I still don't have all of my furniture. I've been contacting the corporate office, and that has been a waste of time up until this point. So know that seven hundred dollars will cost me double in attorney fees. Time used for court, Channel 6 news, Better Business Bureau, and my local Attorney Generals Office. But in the end good always comes out on top, so I'm sure I'll get my money back for my furniture, and the stress that came with this entire transaction. If you had a great experience with them kudos to you but I will never recommend this store to anyone that I care about or know.

People who go there just to buy small and cheap items then it's fine with them. But if you going to buy some sections,sofas or tables that need delivery than get ready for spending nervous,time and money!

I am writing this review for the columbus ohio store on main street.I saw an ad for a full size mattress for 238.00.I thought to myself thats a great deal.So, I purchased my mattress on a monday in hopes of getting it by tuesday or at the latest wensday.Well,saturday comes along and I still don't have my mattress.I have been calling all week mind you.So, I go in saturday and talk to my sales man and he assures me that my mattress will be there before 4.Well,thankfully,it was.But,when I looked at it,it wasn't the mattress that I was shown.The mattress that I was shown had an extra piece on the top and thats why it was $20 more.The saleman told me that he didn't have the other one in stock.When I called the store,he told me that that was what was printed on my receipt.So, I'm sure that when I bought it,he put the other mattress on the order,made me pay that amount and then sent me a mattress that was 20 dollars cheaper.Theres no way that I can prove this,but I know that I ordered a more expensive.I know that 20 dollars isn't alot of money,but it is the principal of the thing.So,my advise to anyone thinking of going there to buy funiture,DON'T!They may seem like a great deal,but they are scam artists.

I understand several people have had problems with this company...but personally i never have...you can not judge every single store not every store is the same. I have bought so much stuff there and i have never had a problem we always go there for things we need. And our service is always amazing. I have recommended them to several people i know. I guess some of the stores you go to dont have the right people for the job there.

I recently purchased a sectional from American Freight on September the 4th. When i walked in the warehouse i had atleast three salespeople ask if i needed any help with anything. I had my eyes on a beautiful sectional and ended up getting a great deal on it. It was delivered to my house the next day since i live out of Louisville. I was kinda paranoid about how my furniture would arrive since i didn't read these reviews til after i had purchased the furniture. But the delivery people were very nice! My furniture is the exact furniture i had purchased in beautiful *new* condition. They set it up in my home the way i wanted, and i couldn't be happier!! Great business .. I would definately tell other people to shop at The American Freight in Louisville!

It has been 4 months since we ordered our furniture from the Fairfield, Ohio location and still have received no couch or a replacement recliner for the broken/torn one the delivery people sent (at 1130 PM on 2/08). I called at least 50 times (no joke have the cell phone records) and made numerous trips to the location. After getting the run around from the ex-convicts they call staff and talking the ASS of a manager Bret Jaggers (karma will bite him soon!!) I gave up and took legal action. I am well over 1,000 in the hole to this disgrace of a company and I look forward to reporting them to the BBB, local news companies and all review websites!!! They mess with the wrong person and I won't stand for there shady business practices.

I had ordered a livingroom set and 2 recliners from the American Freight in Mishawaka, Indiana. The livingroom set I reeived the the day I ordered it. The salesman called me last Wednesday to tell me ONE of the recliners had come in, and I would get it delivered that same evening. When it didn't arrive that evening, I called the next morning. The salesman told me I would receive it THAT day. When it did not arrive THAT day, he told me the NEXT day. I have been playing this game with this store for a week now. They have independent contractors who deliver the furniture, and I believe because the delivery was already paid for, and the guys are not getting paid again to bring the chairs, that they will never bring them. I cannot cancel my order for the two recliners because ALL SALES ARE FINAL. In the meantime, they have my 2 recliners and my money. What can I do?

I ordered a full size comfortable bed. The store was kind of run down and I was a little hesitant when I walked in. I bought the full size bed for about $500. When they delivered the bed they had queen size rails with a full bed! They immediately noticed their mistake and went back to the store to get the correct size bed. After they left I got a call from the store manager who said that they didn't have a full size bed, so he stated that he was going to give me a queen size bed at the same price! I was so happy, I love my bed and I lounge around it every weekend!

American freight furniture is the bad company I have seen in my life time. I am writing this blog with my heart full of pain. I have ordered the furnitures and they transacted my money on the next 3 days. I purchased a complete single bedroom package which costs $1500. They told that they will be calling and fixing the delivery date. I have not got a single call from them yet and I have called them several times to check the status. I was disappointed with the service and went to the store to cancel my order. They told that All sales are final and they do not have a refund policy. Whatever they tell we need to accept and get the things even if you get a poor treatment. They are making me crazy and I cannot do anything since my money is locked to them. I don't know what will happen now. I am not sure whether they are going to deliver or not. Whenever I make a call each time one person picks and they put me on hold for several minutes.
I am humbly requesting all who wants to buy to not buy from this store.

The sales staff is verly freindly and I got my furniture delivered the same day. I know it's not as interesting to hear a positive review, but I figured it was only fair to tell people about the good things the store does to go along with the bad. They have a lot of really good deals and are one of the only companies that I have seen that continue to lower prices. Inflation doesn't seem to affect this bussiness. The bottom line is if you want nice furniture at a great price this is the only place to go. Don't let the negative reviews keep you from saving money. Check the place out, and make a decision on your own.

I recently purchased a $500 plus mattress set from this company it was a Nordic Rest memory foam set. Needless to say we have had the mattress set for about two months now and the memory foam doesn't return to its original position and it rolls to the middle. Memory foam should not roll to the middle at all. I talked to someone about it and he told me that I would have to bring it in and have someone inspect it. Ok, I call a second time to confirm that someone was there to inspect a mattress, he tells me sure come on in and about two seconds later he tells me sorry, I'll have to wait until Monday or Tuesday so the guy can inspect it. I wait till Tuesday and go up there and the manager has the dock person to unload. The manager took the board that was holding up the bay door and laid it across my mattress to inspect. The board was dirty and that's how they inspected my mattress was with a board. I was told that it had to have a minimum of 3" drop to warranty it. Memory foam shouldn't never have a drop in it. I was never told that when I bought it or the two or three times I talked to someone about getting my mattress inspected. I live 45 minutes away and gas is not cheap to just drive somewhere and have board laid across my mattress. I could have done that at home. When I was leaving the dock person said what a rip off. I said I know, he then told me that these people are con artists and he should know he's seen it cause he works for them. I will never do business with this company again. What a joke. Please do not buy anything from this company if you expect to use it everyday, you'll only get headaches and backaches from theses people.

I purchased a living room set from American Frieght in Mishawaka In. The sofa had a lifetime warranty on the frame which broke after 3 years. When I spoke to the store manager I disclosed all of the information that I knew regarding the sofa including a tear in the seam of the arm. He explained the tear was a default d/t the company not spraying the fabric correctly and that he would rather replace the furniture then to repair it. When we arrived at the store the vice president of the company was visiting and to our surprise this manager acted like we had never had this conversation. In fact he all but called me a liar. He was rude and lacked the skill to run any business or to deal with the general public. American Freight has had our furniture for nearly 3 weeks now for repairs and has not even given us a courtesy call. When I call to check on the furniture I talk to a different person every time with a different excuse as to why it is not done yet. The last sales rep stated that I could not even be located in the system and therfore kept me on hold for 20 minutes. They are always blaming the other guy. The right hand doesn't have a clue what the left hand is doing. I will never buy furniture from this store again and it would be a mistake for any one else to. The so called managers who run this store, run it like a 3 ring circus. I have never experienced this type of treatment in any furniture store and I would not recommend purchasing their products. They don't keep their word and they use excuses to renege on what they say they are going to do. Cheap furniture and cheap business. Goes hand in hand.

I just got my new sofa/loveseat from American Freight. I was amazed with the quality of their furniture. Both pieces only $398. I wish they would open more stores so that my family in California could shop there. This is the only place I've found with very good quality furniture at affordable prices.

Prospective buyers please be aware of how incrediably SHADY this buisness operates!!! I got the unfortunate "privelage: to work with the unprofessional team at the Fairfield location in Cincinnati, Ohio. My husband and I bought a leather couch and recliner that were suppose to be delivered two days later. THREE WEEKS later we have neither piece of furniture and can get NO ONE on the phone all day long. I have personally made 3 trips to the location to talk with mangers/district managers and they said they keep "accidently" selling all of the sets we bought. My husband and I paid in full and really took the time to investigate what type of furniture we wanted. I was assured by the salesman that we had 90 days no questions ask return policy, but when I told them to cancell the order they said ALL SALES ARE FINAL (nice new piece of poster board with marker placed after I bought our things). I am disgusted at the customer services as the workers,mangers, and higher ups are less than educated and professional in the workplace. I hope this company goes under quickly and these people can be serving my fast food instead.

American Freight is a dream supercenter store for the price conscious consumer. They have everything the "big name" stores have at nearly half price. They even have same day delivery or pickup where other stores take weeks to deliver! I am so happy with my purchase. American Freight makes it easy for hardworking people trying to support families afford furniture. Everything is great! I recommend this store to anybody!

I purchased a bedroom suite from them. I was very happy with the set. Now I will have to admit that in the picture in the ad it showed an armoire and when I got there they said it came with a chest and that it would be more money for the armoire. Now I showed them the ad and they showed me where it did say about the chest. We made a deal in price, and I went away satisfied!!!

Help!! I have been duped. A victim of a Bait and Switch scam.
On 29 December I went to American Freight to buy a full mattress set. After remodeling our sons room and discarding his old mattress I needed something for him to sleep on, so I needed a mattress that day. When we arrived at American freight our salesman was Mr. Demond Reed. I explained to him that I needed a mattress set to take with us so I only want to look at sets he had in stock. After deciding on the Carlton Place full size mattress set I ask Mr. Reed if the set was in stock, explaining again that I needed to take it with us, he assured me that it was in stock.
We proceeded to the check out counter and completed the transaction. I paid 372.95 before taxes for the mattress set and bed rails. I paid with a check. This was around 12:00 pm. We then pulled the truck I had borrowed to the loading door. After waiting for 10 Minutes or so they brought the mattress up to the door. They then went to get the Mattress box. After waiting another 15 minutes I started to ask if they were working on my order. I was told it would be right up. When the young man finally brought up the mattress box it was the wrong one. I explained that I bought the Carlton set, which was white, the one he brought up was blue and was made by Orthopedic. Becoming more concerned I stared to ask more questions. The salesmen and employees became evasive. Finally Mr. Reed informed me that they didnt have the mattress box in stock. Explaining that since I needed the mattress today and since none of the merchandise had been loaded he could just cancel the sale and tear up my check.
Mr. Reed went to what appeared to be the store manager and started to talk to him. I did not get the managers name. I walked up to the manager and explained that Mr. Reed had assured me that the Carlton mattress was in stock and that I need it today. His response was whats the problem the Mattress box gets covered by a mattress skirt anyways. He had a very flippant, condescending attitude. I said that I bought a matching set and that was what I wanted. He said I could pick it up next week if some came in. I told him that that was unacceptable and that he could just tear up my check. He stated that all sales were final. Again I explained that his salesman assured me that the mattress set was in stock. Again the manager stated that all sales were final and I could come back in a week or 15 days when it came in or I could just take what the had today but all sales were final. I was sold one product but another lesser quality on was delivered.
I wanted and purchased a matching mattress set. What was delivered to me was a lesser quality product. Normally mismatched sets are sold at a reduced price. I was not offered any type of discount. I would not have bought the mattress if I had known that it was a mismatch. I would not have bought the set if I had not been assured by the salesman that the set was in stock
If one goes to the American freight web site you will see that both the mattress and mattress box are priced individually. You will also see that the Carlton place mattress box is more expensive than the Orthopedic mattress box. I was not offered any type price difference refund. If all the mattress boxes are the same then why is there a price difference.
A selling point to the Carlton Mattress set was the warranty it came with. But now the warranty is void. The warranty card states that The warranty is only good if the Carlton mattress set is used. Thanks to the store manager I do not have a Carlton set.
I announced to the store that they should watch what the bought because I was a victim of a bait and switch. The manager then told me that if I said another word I would be banned from his store. I assured him that there was no way I would ever shop here because they run a bait and switch operation.
We then loaded the mismatched mattress set into the truck. After getting the mattress tied down the salesman came out and said that he thought he could convince the manager to give me my check back. After being there and going through this ordeal I told Mr. Reed that unless he could guarantee me that I would get my check back we were leaving. After all 30 minutes prior he had not lived up the assurances he was giving.
I needed the Mattress set that day because:
1. My son was with out a mattress.
2. I had to borrow a truck and would not have access to the truck to pickup the mattress when it came in.
3. I am in the Air Force and I will be deploying out of the country on 7 January and will not be return until late January. I did not want burden my wife with picking up the mattress.

I bought a couch from this store. The couch we looked at the store looks good. But the one which was delivered to my home was really bad. I went there to return the couch, but they said they couldn't return once it is delivered home. How come we know about the piece until we get it home?. This is really bad and really disappointing. I would never visit this store again

We bought a mattress from American Freight for a reasonable price. When we got it home and took the protective plastic and lining off we saw dirt and yellow stains on the mattress itself. When we tried to return this USED and DIRTY mattress they refused to get our money back or order a new mattress. They said they have a no return policy and we should have fully inspected it in the store before we brought it home. I am disgusted by the poor quality and customer service! I will never do business there again!

I saw the ads on TV and American Freight looked really great, like a good way to get some furniture for not a lot of money.
Well it is and it isn't. Yes, the couches that they advertise are just as described, and just as inexpensive as they say. But I went there for a mattress and came away pretty disappointed. Their flyer advertised a pillow top queen set for $99 for both pieces. When we got there, an employee said he had "no idea" what we were refering to and when I showed him the flyer I had brought wth me, suddenly we were talking to a manager, who told us it was sold out. When we asked when they'd get more, he was vague and wouldn't give an answer.
I got the impression that they advertise that mattress, hoping to draw people in, and then make them think thy misread the flyer when they get there in order to sell them a more expensive model.
