I live in Louisville and enjoy tasting the different foods the city has to offer. Jack frys suprised me, the exterior wasn't inviting but the yummy food was. I enjoyed grits with country ham and oysters. You should give it a try.
My fiance loves this place, I went with her for the first time last week and it was excellent! The scallops were the best I have ever tasted- and I live on the coast. Their sea bass was on special- and it was quite special. A small place, but great decor and live music make it very comfortable and romantic. A touch loud, and definately not inexpensive- minor negatives for Jack Fry's.
Pros: Food, Decor, Music
Cons: noise, parking
I was passing through Louisville last weekend and I really wanted a mint julep. Of all the places in the world I thought I could get one here. Well I was wrong, apparently they aren't in season in the bourbon capital of the world. Atleast that's what our snooty waitress told me. Give me a break. My burger was pretty good, albeit on the bloody side, I asked for medium. Don't come here looking for cheap meals either.
Cons: Dark, Snooty
The folks at Jack Fry's know their way around the garden, kitchen and bar. From the beginning to the end of my visit, I was impressed and near-giddy. I want to live next door.
Pros: Great food, Groovy atmosphere, Best bartenders
Cons: small, always packed
My husband and I have spent all 9 anniversaries at Jack Fry's restaurant. We visit Jack Fry's monthly for a very romantic evening together and we believe the best menu and meal in town. I highly recommend to everyone to visit this gem of a restaurant.
Pros: romantic, food, service
Great restuarant serving all kinds of food. The pork chops are tops and the best chef in Louisville always a couple of wonderful specials.
As a Brit, this is my favourite little restaurant to go to with my boyfriend. It has a lovely romantic atmosphere - subdued lighting, piano in the background, lovely wine...
Pros: Atmospheric, Friendly staff
Not a place for a huge gathering -- just a tad on the noisy side. Everything is delish, and thoughtfully prepared. The potato soup will get you off to a happy start. And the live combo keeps your feet tapping. Sign in, plan on time for window shopping, and come back ready for a great time.
Pros: every dish delish, nice hub-bub feeling
Cons: a tad pricey, limited reservations, Don't take kids
How anyone could have a bad time at Jack Fry's is beyond my comprehension. The ambience, service and food are spectacular. This is the restaurant that is the foundation of Louisville's fine dining. There is no snobby pretentiousness about menu or the service. You feel welcome and relaxed when you are in between their comfortable walls, which makes for a fabulous dining experience.
Pros: Ambience, Quality
