I was lucky enough to become a Mona Lisa customer last year. In the past, I too, would call and ask for an appt. and they would tell me they weren't accepting new customers. I kept trying and eventually they had an opening. My dogs are are mixed breed border collies that were shelter dogs and are treated and groomed like show dogs. I know my dogs are treated with patience and kindness (most important) and they do a great job. And it's true that they are very good about finding abnormal lumps and bumps. My dog recently had surgery for an inflammatory growth that was found by them. I woul highly recommend them.

Carol and her staff have been grooming my dogs for more than 15 years. I took my first cocker, J.J., to Mona Lisa for grooming. At one of the grooming appointments they noticed J.J. had enlarged lymph nodes in several areas. They told me about it and I called my vet. My baby was diagnosed with lymphoma and passed on about a year later. When it was time to take him to the vet for the last time, my husband called Carol and she cried with me. She loved my baby as much as I did. She helped my husband locate another precious cocker to enrich our lives. You cannot find a groomer anywhere who cares as much about their clients as Carol and staff at Mona Lisa does! My babies are lucky they have such a caring groomer.

Nothing but the best for my dog at Mona Lisa Pet Salon! They do an excellent job and everyone there is so friendly! The dogs are all completely brushed out before bathing and that makes for an easier grooming for the dogs. Everytime we leave with our dog everywhere I take her people just fall in love with her she is so pretty and she knows it! They do a wonderful job and treat your pets well! Cockers are are high maintenance when it comes to grooming and they do and excellent job for me!

We had been told about this groomer from a friend that had used them for their pure bred dog. We took our dog in, and they seemed OK until mentioning it was a mixed breed. At that point the owners demeanor completely changed and she started looking for faults with the dog. My family was very unhappy with her response and opted to use a more impartial groomer.

I just called up there to get my yorkiepoo in as well and they asked if I had ever been there and I said no, then asked what kind of dog she was. I said yorkiepoo and they said they weren't accepting any new clients. Very strange. Oh well, they just lost my money.

Very interesting. I just walked in there and inquired about grooming and they asked me what type of dog I had. I answered "yorkiepoo" and they said they weren't taking new customers right now, just like the other comment from someone. That is a bit odd.

I have never actually been to Mona-Lisa, because every time I call to make an appointment, they ask me what kind of dog I have, I tell them, (a type of terrier) and then they tell me they are not accepting new clients.
Then why ask me what type of dog I have?
I think they discriminate against terriers.

Mona Lisa Pet Salon is a family owned business located conveniently in the heart of Middletown. The owner has many years experience breeding, showing, and grooming dogs. She's got a great staff that are very hard-working. They are very attentive to not only your dogs grooming needs, but their overall health as well. They routinely give out alert cards to owners when they notice a change in your dogs health (e.g., lumps, skin problems, etc.). While I've seen all kinds of dogs big and small in her shop, she does specialize in Cocker Spaniels. I would highly recommend this clean and spacious grooming establishment to anyone.
