This is a fun place to hang out late night. We stayed close by at the Seelback Hotel and walked over. Good thing we only had to walk back to bed! Enjoyed the big screen TVs at Hard Rock Cafe. Will visit it again when in downtown Louisville.

This is a fun place to hang out at night. Hard Rock Cafe is so much fun, and the free concerts are nice. They don't have many stores, but I think they are working on it. There are lots of things to do around 4th Street Live though, so you may want to pick out some other activities when you go down there. They have good restaurants, and it's just fun to walk around at night there.

4th Street Live is located in the heart of historic downtown Louisville almost right across the street from the Convention Center. This place use to be a outdated mall called the Galleria, but was reconstructed into an open-air entertainment district that extents two square blocks. This place is close to waterfront park, numerous hotels, and Slugger Field. There are many wonderful restaurant located in and close to 4th Street Live, including TGI Fridays, Red Star Traven, and Hard Rock Cafe. There are many bars and clubs as well. Upstairs is a food court , with Subway and Wendys, where you can get a quick meal. This place does not have a lot of retail amenities. There are only Borders, Fashion Shop, Verizon, Cool shades , with a few others stores. The parking garage is free on weekdays after 6:00 p.m. Valet parking is offered on weekends from 6:00p.m. to 4:00a.m. This is a great place to go on weekends, because during warm weather there is usually a local band playing on the street .

I really like 4th Street Live. There is a great mix of restaurants and clubs, and the free concerts are cool.
When the weather is nice, it's great to dine at one of the restaurants with outdoor seating. Most of the places still have a roof, so even if it's raining you can enjoy people watching while munching with your friends.
There are only a few problems with an otherwise awesome complex. You have all these cool restaurants...and then a boring TGIFridays and CVS Pharmacy. I don't really get that, plus there's only one store - Borders. Maybe they could put some fun stores in around there.
You have to check out The Pub. It's a great British pub that has excellent food and drinks, plus a cool interior. There's an "Irish" place a couple doors down, but I don't really see what's Irish about it besides the name.
If you don't like crowds, then go on a week night. It's easy to find parking AND a table!
