It seems to be their standard business policy to shrink-wrap used books and sell them at the new book price if they think they can get away with it. I have caught them at this twice. It is obvious that the book is used after I read the first chapter for the first day of class and there is minor writing in the book that they didn't notice.

The second time, I brought the book back to them, angry that they had charged me full price for a used book, and they took the book (written in with pencil) away from me and gave me another one that had been written in with ink! It was obvious that they were going to erase the penciled-in bits and sell it again as a new book. I didn't notice the switch until I got home, and of course that only made me more angry because it ensured I could not sell the book myself to Amazon.

Also, the second time, the book was supposed to come with a code to use with the online portion of the class. The code had already been used. I had paid a premium price (over $300) for a NEW book with a NEW code, and they sold me a used book with no code for that money.

Don't go here unless you like being defrauded.

Gray's College Bookstore is really the best place to buy and sell your textbooks. I have found that this store gives you the most money for your textbooks during the buy back week. They usually have all textbooks in stock, or will order what you need and give you a 10% discount. The prices are about what you would expect for college textbooks, and you will probably pay hundreds of dollars to get all the books you need for class. There are employees that will help you find your books, and lines to check out are not that long. Parking can be a problem. There are not many parking spaces near the store.

Grays College Bookstore is located on south 4th street close to the University of Louisville campus. This book store has a nice selection of new and used textbooks, school supplies, and clothing. There are only a few free parking spaces close to the store, but I have never had a problem finding a place to park. This store can be very crowded during the first few weeks of classes. The books are expensive. They will buy back textbooks at the end of the semester. I think they give the most money for your books, although it is still less than it should be. The staff is usually helpful and polite.
