This shop does not exist anymore.
The map and google just might need some updating. There's no Virgin Mega store at this place anymore (and no Mega Store in New Orleans) - as of this writing, that is.

Virgin wants its patrons to buy into it as brand, as a label, which is kind of ironic given the maverick image of the company founder, Richard Branson. (C'mon - Virgin brand disposable cameras? Yeesh.) If you have a burning desire for a shirt, mug, or condom with Virgin's logo on it, they've got you covered. If, on the other hand, you'd like to purchase a CD or DVD, Virgin has you very much covered in this respect as well, and their deals are pretty competitive. The store on Decatur also has a huge local music section on its second floor, bookended with an equally impressive international selection. The third floor offers a nice collection of music books, comics, and popular/ edgy novels and occasional books with a fairly esoteric DVD selection. Repeat buyers can fill up a card to merit a free CD or DVD. Also, Virgin stays open late on Monday nights to sell Tuesday's new releases after midnight.
PROS: Big, shiny, well organized, well maintained, great deals
CONS: The affected coolness of the British voice on the PA system
