I stayed at this hotel during Mardi Gras 03. For this reason a few of the ammenities were lacking. To begin the place was understaffed (due to the holiday) and because of this daily room cleanings were cancelled. Towels were given if requested, and valet was very backed up. On the positive side, the location is fairly close to the quarter and directly on a parade route. There is also a great little bar/rest. within the hotel and if you ask nicely (prior to checkin) you may get a nice little discounted parking rate, plus the room rates are very inexpensive.

PROS: Price, Location, & Friendly staff
CONS: If you go during Mardi Gras, expect the typical set backs (understaffed)

Considering this hotel came highly recommended to me, I was majorly disappointed when I arrived. The entire hotel screams "shabby" and not "shabby chic". It seemed like a tenament. The halls had worn out carpeting and wallpaper that was peeling. Halls and elevators smelled heavily from insectacide. The room was tiny and again shabby. The hardwood floors while shiny and well scrubbed just seem right and somehow made it seem dirty. The room was quite small with barely enough room for one person let alone two. The bathroom, however was nice but too bad the rest of the room wasn't as nice. For thirty dollars more, I found a room for the rest of my stay at a much nicer, larger and safer location. The lovely view of the brick wall I had also didn't help matters I only hope they were or are in the process of refurbishing.
