Ratings_icons Audubon Pointe Of Algiers is the worst place to live!

A S.

I see these apartments haven't changed much since my husband and I lived there about five years ago. The property manager at that time would change her hair color so the residents wouldn't recognize her when coming in with complaints. We had cockroaches as well, and also a huge maple (or some other sort) of tree leaning into the porch, destroying the banister and roof (we lived on the second floor, so this was a problem.) and it would shake the apartment when there was a hard wind. The stairs were so rickety, I had fears that they would just fall apart when we walked up them...I was seven months pregnant when we moved in and when I brought my new baby home, I brought her home to NO HEAT in the apartment in the middle of the winter. Called maintenance...no one came. Had to sleep for two weeks with our new baby in the bed, bundled with blankets and we slept in what amounted to winter clothing instead of pajamas. When our baby turned six months old, the tree (that we asked them several times to cut down or even trim) punctured a hole in our roof, giving us an instant skylight...literally. We had to move in with my mom because we were afraid that something would crawl down into the apartment and bite our child. Water damage to the carpet was inevitable...when there was water. They would turn the water in the complex off without notice...how am I supposed to clean bottles with no water?! When we moved out, they wouldn't even give us a security deposit back...I think because the funds were misappropriated. Talked to a new manager there at the time (we came back like four times after we moved, at THEIR request) and she said, "you might as well give up on the security deposit because you're not going to get it. "They" won't give it to you, just to be honest." I hated this place..I wouldn't recommend it for anyone to move. Still have pics and we're considering a law suit, but don't know how far we'll get since it's been so long. If there's ever a class action suit, we might sign up. :) But even if there isn't, something should be done about this place. They don't care about the residents; just want to make a quick buck off of them.

Ratings_icons Horrible

Shavee C.

These people are awful. I kept complaining about my electricity acting up and no one ever came to fix it. I was on vacation for a week and they lied to me in my face and told me that the electrician had come into the apartment and fixed the problem. How in the hell did an electrician come in I did not see him--what was he --a ghost? It wasn't until the apartment caught fire because of electrical problems that anything was fixed and it wasn't fixed right. They put me into a temp apartment and my 4 year old daughter's television was stolen by the maintenence staff and has yet to be replaced. There is mold growing everywhere, cockroaches galore, old dry rotting cabinets, termites, leaks, holes, etc. I can not wait until my 30 days is up. You don't want the bull**** believe me.

If you love your children don't do it.I've been locked into a lease thjat I've been paying since nov. 2008 and I don't live live there due to it being uninhabitable.its so trifling back there the maint. Patchwork everything my house if full of water and mold due to patchwork done to the ac,which ended up collapsing the second floor into the first floor because of all the water that sat in floor and walls over a long period of time the carpet is full of water and mold also.they changed my locks w/o proper notice and stole my children game systems out of my living room and to top it off they still want rent.but ill see them in court. Enough is enough!

Pros: Cheaper than most places.

Cons: You get no satisfaction.

Ratings_icons The Worst place in the city to live next to outside !!!!!!!!

sincerly

This place is definitely not worth the head ace and drama that the renter has to go through. The maintenance is GARBAGE, the Management is GARBAGE and most of all the Owners are worthless. This place is worse than the money pit. The owners just want that rent money and they can care less about the black people that are living in this hell hole. The maintenance guy's (cheap Mexican laborers) won't fix nothing because they don't know how, hell they don't even speak English. Some will still your shiiiiit if you leave it out. The front office is even worst, they are at the point were they won't even give you a good excuse for no repairs. They will tell you straight up "I will put a ticket in on it but they probably won't fix it".

If you want this attitude for your money, if you want to throw your money away on a crappy place to live?? Well here is the best chance in the whole city to do it. I know you might think I am over exaggerating but, hey its a free world. Come on down and be the next joke.

Pros: some of the appliances are new. Thanks to hurricane Katrina and Government grants (FEMA).

Cons: This building is old, the plumbing, electricity, cable, A/C & heating don't work well or most of the time. Holes in the walls and ceilings.

Ratings_icons Terible terrible terrible

paperkitty

Do you like sewers pumping out next to your bedroom window?
Ceilings collapsing with every passing rain?
Rodent and insect infestations?
Slow (or no) showing maintanence?
Clogged drains?
Unbelievibly disgusting landkeeping?
Unsafe areas?

well, all of this can be yours to rent .. at Audubon Pointe.

.. I rather live in my car ..

Pros: If you like living in dirt ..

Cons: the whole place is a sh*t hole. The pictures that are shown of it on other websites are of ONE yard in the whole complex .. the only one they pay attention to. The farther you go backthe worse it gets. It's almost a project.
