First of all I would like to respond to one of the other "reviewers". Lakeside is still in business. Perhaps you dialed the number incorrectly. When you dropped off that film at the other place two blocks down, you probably drove by and saw that the place is still up and running. Why would you give a place one star when you didn't even use their service? Absurd.
I've had photos developed there several times and I always get a much better product than if you bring it to WalMart. They also run specials from time to time which means at times you can get the higher grade product at a cheaper price. They have a bay of kiosks that you use to select which photos you want developed and you can crop them. They were so helpful the first time I tried to use the kiosk. Now I know how to use it without assistance.
I've also purchased lens filters, caps, and other accessories from them. Their prices are reasonable and I found the staff super nice. I didn't get the impression that I was bothering them since I was only getting a $15 or $30.00 item and not a $2,000.00 camera.
I went by to see if my point and shoot needed to be repaired and what the costs would be. One of the sales guys looked at it and said that the issue I saw wouldn't effect the picture quality and to send it in would mean a few weeks without the camera and about $150.00 or so in repairs -- which I really didn't need. His honesty saved me time and money and I wound up not buying anything that day, but I didn't forget that he helped me out and went back to buy stuff from him since.
I suggested this place to a friend that got a dlsr as a gift. They also have classes there for various levels of users which I told my friend about and she has taken a couple of them.
