Don Carter's All Star Lanes

The weekend of March 20,2009 I went to Don Carter's 3 times to take my children bowling. The 1st time was Saturday @ 1pm. I was told no lanes until 5pm. I went back that same day @ 5:30pm still no lanes because of the same tournament that was going on earlier that day. Nothing until 9pm I was told again. Needless to say twice I had to tell young children they couldn't bowl. Even though the kids seen they had about 15 lanes that were not occupied. When I got on the web site they had a special on Sunday morning so we came again Sunday morning @ 10am and once again no lanes available. I asked the people who were working why would you advertise on the website that you have a special on Sunday mornings. Why wouldn't you put no lanes available the whole weekend due to tournaments. So 3 times children had to be told they couldn't bowl. How do you expect kids under 10 to understand. I would give Don Carter's no stars if I could but you couldn't. We went to Denham Springs and bowled and it was a great experience. Too bad your establishment gets 1 star. They say to stay in you home town and do business but Don Carter's won't be getting any of my business anymore. My child wants a bowling birthday party in May but it won't be here. Hope you tournaments pay you well.

I HAVE SENT EMAILS TO THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY KNOWN AS SCHUMACKER & CO. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE OR EVEN AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT THEY RECEIVED MY COMPLAINT CONCERNING DON CARTER'S ALLSTAR LANES IN BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA.

My complaint was that the lanes I had reserved were given out by the management of the bowling alley because a tournament needed extra lanes. I understand tournaments needing more lanes than they are originally given but use of any extra lanes should be limited to any OPEN lanes except for those previously reserved. Alas the bowling center does not agree, thus I will not be returning. The only reason they are getting 1 star is becuz I can't give them ZERO stars!

I am writing to express my extreme dissapointment with the way your company is allowed to treat paying customers.

My brother's daughter was having a birthday and decided to go bowling. We went to Baton Rouge Don Carter's on Sunday morning at 11am. We asked for 3 lanes together for 10 people and were told we could get them in about 15 minutes. After 30 minutes we were given only 2 lanes. Oh well, we just went with that because we could tell the place was quite busy.

Halfway through our second game, we were asked to move for a large group coming in. We did so with no problems.

With 2 frames left in the third game, we were told we had to move again because of birthday parties arriving. My brother kindly refused and said we only had two frames left, then we would leave.

Jill, the manager, then shut our lanes off instead of giving us 10 more minutes.

We had to wait over half an hour to get lanes, but were promplty shut off when other parties arrived.

My brother asked for a refund and was given coupons. After we said this was not acceptable, the manager gave my brother 9 dollars (out of 70.00 on bowling) and no coupons and said we would receive nothing else. All told with shoes, bowling, and food we spent over 200.00 with this business.

I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for well over 20 years. I will never step foot into a Don Carter's again, as well as everyone that was with us.

I will send letters, complain the the BBB, Bowling Associations, and tell everyone in my power how your company treats people. I have had numerous poor service issues with Don Carter's in the past, but so far tried to overlook them. Not this time!

I am an Executive Chef and if you were a guest at my restaurant and were told to move tables and then your food shut off because other guests were waiting, would you EVER come back? Would you pay your check? Of Course Not!! What makes your service any different ???

This is not over and my complaning has just begun, but you probably do not care if you just lost years of business judging by your treatment of loyal customers.

Don Carter's food is nothing to brag about, and the building and decor are a bit out dated, but it's still a fun place to take the kids for a family activity, and they're attentive and helpful during birthday parties. The offer bumper lanes for kids and have a small arcade as well.

Don Carters is the nicest bowling alley in Baton Rouge. They are also one of the larger ones. They offer bowling leagues during the week, galactic bowling on the weekends and birthday parties anytime. Don Carters lanes are fully electronic and maintained very well. They offer an area to play pool as well. This is an excellent facility to bowl at.

It has been a while since I have actually bowled. But Don Cater's is the place to go. My daughter attended a birthday party there. The kids had a super time.

Bowling tournaments abound lately in Baton Rouge, this family fun amusement is not a lost art. If you haven't been to Don Carter's Alley lately you will be pleasantly surprised at the renovations. The area is very clean and the new electronic scoreboards are very nice. They also have a reasonably priced kids birthday party package as well as special fun events like night bowling. Take the family bowling tonight!
