The office staff here are extremely RUDE and inefficient. The docs are mediocre...especially considering they allow this kind of behavior from their staff. We brought our cat in. Once he had been treated and returned to us, we were told that 'Darcy' would check us out. Well, 'Darcy' was otherwise occupied...seemed to be shift change or something...and we waited another 30 minutes for 'Darcy' to finish huffing and puffing and doing her busies. She finally checked us out, without saying a word, she gathered her things and left. No one else was in the office or anywhere to be seen. We could not leave because of the electronically locked doors. We waited an additional 20 minutes...nothing. My daughter called out "Hello!"...nothing. I called the business number with my cell phone and told them we were locked in. After several more minutes Amanda and her troop of incompetents came out. When we told them that Darcy had checked us out and left us standing there, they laughed in our faces. SHAME ON YOU. Our money helps pay your salaries. My recommendation to anyone considering using this place is to wait until your regular vet is opened if at all possible, and go to them. These docs have a monopoly and take advantage of that. I will totally avoid using this place in the future.

I brought my cat in on 3/12/13 because she had a seziure they ran her blood work and told me that she was dehydrated and wanted to keep her over night for at least $100 more than the $330.00 I already owed. I said no and took her home. My regular vet saw her on 3/15/13 and told me she was not dehydrated and that she had to rerun her blood work because it didn't make sense and saw that the Animal Emergency Clinic had ran my cats blood work as a dog. I called the clinic and ask for a refund only on the blood work $139.00 since they made a mistake. The clinic told me that the blood work wasn't much different and so they wouldn't refund me and that I could bring my cat back in to rerun her blood. I said no thanks that I would not stress my cat back out because they had made a mistake. I left several messages for the owner Dr. Welch and finally spoke with him on 3/18/13. He said that he called the blood machine company and they apparently said the test results wouldn't be much different between the species. I told him I found this odd since my regular vet thought the results were weird and had to reran them. She found an infection in her liver than the canine results did not show and also my cat wasn't dehydrated. Glad I didn't leave her over night to stress her even more. He told me that he would call my vet and if she said that the results were different he would refund me my $. Weeks later I have never heard from anyone from the emergency clinic.
I feel that I was lied to and treated like I don't have a brain. Two different species here. I would not let my doctor run my blood as a chimpanzee and diagnose me with something even though science says our DNA is 96% the same. I do not feel like I would go back to them so i pray my cats never get sick after my vets regular hours.

Sunday am visit, and was the only patient. I carried in my dog who hadn't eaten for 24 hours, had urinated in his bed, was lethargic, and limping around the house. A tech asked that I put him on a table and made me leave the exam room. About 20 minutes later the female vet came out and told me she had looked at my dog and there was nothing wrong with him. She hadn't talked to me and when I began to explain why I brought him in and the symptoms she talked over me loudly. I finally told her she was yelling at me. She then tried to hit me up for at least $600 to $700 worth of tests to confirm what?? - that there was nothing wrong with my dog??? I told her I brought him in to get him out of pain until I could get him to my regular vet, that I suspected a urinary infection, and that I didn't like being hijacked for x-rays, complete blood work, etc... to pad her bill and that frankly I did not have enough respect for her to have her treat my dog. She told me I could leave and I did - $72 poorer for the exam fee - the exam that I never saw and have no reason to believe happened since I was not informed of anything that would confirm that she even touched my dog. Very rude and given her lack of interaction with the owner, I'd say incompetent! Explains why her only business is what no one else wants - weekends. I will pursue with the lic board as I believe her quality of care to be substandard. In fairness, the rest of the staff seemed very nice.

Had to take one of my dogs in for emergency after hours on a holiday weekend. The staff was not very pleasant just presented us with an estimate and then performed the procedure, which was stitches because my dogs had gotten into a fight and this one had a bad bite. They felt it was necessary to use general instead of local. Ended up with $500 bill. Not much u can do when there is no other choice. Way overpriced. I think they take advantage of a bad situation.

Dr. Jones did an emergency spay on my 5 year old dachshund and saved her life. I had taken her in to see my regular vet on Friday afternoon, just 1 hour before closing. The news that she needed emergency surgery was shocking. The only reason I had brought her in was due to her drinking excessively. Bloodwork and exam showed that she had an open pyometra. Both of my vets were going to be out of the office until Monday, so Dr. Still put Roxie on antibiotics and recommended that I take her to AEC. I wasn't sure because of the cost (more than twice as much as it would be during regular surgery hours on Tuesday at my regular vet). I took Roxie home. After worrying all night, I decided the take her on to AEC on Saturday. They took her right in and within 2 hours, she was out of danger. Dr. Jones was wonderful and I'm so happy that my "baby's" life was saved!

I have now had 2 emergencies after-hours that this clinic has been extremely helpful with. The first time I called to discuss if I even needed to bring my dog in (she appeared to have heat stroke) and they were very kind and talked me thru her symptoms and what I should do and advised me that it seemed unneccessary for me to come in immediately. I appreciate their honesty and understanding, since emergency vet bills are extremely expensive. They told me what to look for as signs that it's gotten worse. Yesterday, my dog seemed to have serious distension and pains, which prompted me to bring her in. Again, they looked at her and said they would gladly examine her but they felt like she was probably ok to make it until I could see my regular vet. I HIGHLY recommend them for this because they were very helpful, knowledgable, and reasonable

Called them early Sat. morning about my dog who had been vomiting all night and started to defecate blood. Understandable that they have the hardest of jobs there but their front of the house person could show just the tiniest amount of compassion. Called them at 630 am and they told me to wait until 7am when my reg. vet would open since they were closing at 8. Called them back when I found our regular vet would not open until 8 am. At 645 they did not want me to bring my dog in because they were closing at 8. More concerned with having to potentially stay late and changing their information on my vets operating hours.
I thought my dog was dieing and they were refusing to let me bring her 1 hour and 15 minutes before closing time. Luckily we waited and were seen by my regular vet and she survived. I have used this clinic and will probably again in the future because there is absolutely no other choice as they are the only after hours clinic in town but I really wish that they were more caring or that there was another choice in town.

We took our Cocoa to this vet. because of an emergency. After x-rays. Her uterus, ovaries, and the rest of her female parts were so swollen to the extent of rupturing causing death. Dr. Welch preformed the surgery. After weighing the contents he removed it was 9 lbs. 4 or 10 oz's. She had a 50/50 chance. She came out with flying colors. She is my best friend, we have gone through 5 spine surgeries on me. She has been by my side through them all.
Thank Thank Thank Thank you so very much for saving her life.
I will recommend you all to anyone.

We took our dog here one night when he started having seizures. They put him on the table and told us he had heart worms. No examination, nothing, and sent us home. We of course took him to our regular vet the next day and was told he had eaten some stuff he shouldn't have. I would never recommend anyone to use this place, ever.
