Mrs. Rose behind the counter makes me feel like I am in trouble every time I walk in. I want to support local business but she makes it hard.

Items on the menu are routinely not available.

The pastries are stale as well as their attitude.

What happened to this nice bakery? The food is stale, the choices and selection are few and the cases are dirty! You used to could go in and pick out fresh breads, cakes and cookies. I won't go back ever again. Very, very disappointed in the store and the help.

Haven't been to the Cake Palace in about 8-mts but found out quickly that nothing was the same since the new owners moved in. There was a very Slim selection of cakes & pastries, Dirty back refrigerator which held 2- cold trays of pastries & 1- old looking cake. While looking over the pastries in the front counter, I noticed something Moving and realized as I got cloer, that it was a Small ROACH!!!!! I waited until another customer left the area & then told the woman behind the counter about the ROACH! She said: Jesu- & then; I'll take care of it. - Now I see another person has left feedback here about a ROACH that she saw in the pastry case! Ugggggggggggh. I'll Never go back to that dirty bakery. - What a shame. It used to have fresh breads, pastries & pies/cakes of all kinds. = Beware!

I got nervous about the Cake Palace after reading some of the reviews posted on this site. We've used them before, but the reviews made me wonder if our good experiences were flukes. After picking up our daughter's cake on Saturday I am convinced that they were not. Her cake was moist, tasty, and perfectly replicated her invitation -- right down to the brunette pigtails I asked them to add! Not only was the cake up to my high expectations, but, when I ran out of time and asked a friend to pick up the cake for me, the staff at the Cake Palace helpfully took my payment info over the phone and asked for specific info about who I was sending to ensure my cake was not absconded with. The parents at the party gushed over how adorable the cake was, but, most importantly, my seven-year-old birthday girl was thrilled and happy. I will use Cake Palace again.

Dropped in recently to satisfy my sweet tooth on the way home from work. BIG MISTAKE! The young lady who took my order made me feel as if I was bothering her for some reason with her unfriendly attitude. When she reached into the counter for my chocolate cupcake, I noticed something moving other than her hand. It was a small roach crawling around in the same tray that held my cupcake. I mean really?! I politely told her no thanks, and walked out. Cake Palace was already last on my list before this incident as other area bakeries (Ambrosia, Baums, Gambinos, etc.) simply have superior products. This is not to say other establishments may not have infestation problems, but I have never actually witnessed something like this out in the open. I hope that Cake Palace literally cleans up their act before a health inspector shuts them down.

My husband and I went to Cake Palace to eat breakfast. We ate from the overpriced breakfast buffet. The food was terrible. The scrambled eggs were hard and lukewarm, the hashbrowns tasted like a paper bag and they ran out of coffee. The staff was not friendly and barely made eye contact to answer questions. I would not recommend eating breakfast here and will never go back.

Ordered a birthday cake for a friend and had to place the order TWICE (it was "lost") then when I went to pick it up, they STILL didn't have it and had to substitute another cake. All in all, the experience was frustrating, to say the least! And it might be worth it if the cake was great, but its only okay.

I ordered my wedding cake and grooms cake from here. My wedding cake had a huge bubble on the side of the cake. It was very obvious. The cake also tasted very stale. My grooms cake was suppose to be a playstation 3. It was horrible. I could have made a better cake. Oh, the icing was so bitter, it tasted like there was no sugar in it.

I am making my son a cake for his birthday and called to ask if they would sell a printed fondant for me. The woman sounded bored and was rude. She asked me if *I* had a print machine, said she printed on cakes and when I said, 'you don't print on fondant' she said 'yes' then when she finally 'got' what I was asking, she immediately said, ' No we don't do that.' I guess she was an owner since she apparently had never been asked this question and knew the answer so quickly. If someone can't even be nice about this kind of thing. I certainly wouldn't do business with them. The cakes on their sight aren't very good looking either...i recommend the cocoa bean in hammond based on this experience.

Cake palace has ok cake. It is nothing worth raving over. I have recently ordered two cakes from there and they have been stale both times. The strawberry cake is good but nothing compared to ambrosia's. Even the girl at the shop recommended ambrosia's strawberry cake over theirs when she saw the look on my face. They do have some very tasty gourmet cookies. All in all however i believe it is highly over-rated.

Cake Palace has good cakes. They are not the best in the city though. Their prices are reasonable and their location is good. Sometimes their cakes are a little stale and not so tasty. They do have a strawberry cake that is worth every bite and every penny. I'd suggest this company if it were available during the peak seasons.

I had ordered a king cake to be sent to my grandmother in Houston and had some trouble with it not arriving on time. I ordered it well in advance ( 3 weeks before I wanted it delivered), but still had problems. The company did over night it once we discovered it hadn't shipped out yet. I will give them a second chance.

Sugar dusted brownies just like any good bakery and known for their wonderful king cakes, this bakery located on Essen Lane boasts some of the best birthday cakes and pasteries in town. My only downside is their location on Essen Lane (traffic, traffic, traffic)....but patience has it's own rewards and you can't beat these sweet treats. They also have portrait cakes for special occasions (they can scan any photo and put it onto a cake!)...great for retirements, birthdays!
