Inexpensive even for a diner

by Amber K. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 811

If you're looking for a little diner food, Charlie's is the place. Diners are somewhat hard to find in the Boston area and this is one of the best. The prices are incredible - $11 for 2 large lobster rolls! The atmosphere is fun as well and it is conveniently located near Harvard Square.

Cheap lobster roll

by Glenn K. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,814

Yeah, so the service often isn't great and for the most part Charlie's isn't overwhelmingly special. But the lobster roll deal is about the best around. You can get a double and it's still affordable. Not the best quality lobster roll - a little heavy on the mayo - but certainly the best deal. Throw in a side of waffle fries, among others, and you're good to go.

fun night out

by Jennifer F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,792

I went to Charlie's on a karaoke night just before Thanksgiving and while it was a fun night, it gets really crowded really quickly. The bartenders were serving up the drinks as fast as you can make your way to the bar but if you're not a fan of crowded bars, pick your night carefully!

Double Cheeseburger King

by keller m. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,369

A two level diner fare weekend hipster joint with cheap, tasty food and the best jukebox in town (upstairs). Downstairs is more of a diner while upstairs feels more like a bar.

Lots of weekly goings on upstairs including trivia (Sunday) live music (Monday) and karaoke (Tuesday).

Gets pretty crowded on the weekends.
