Ratings_icons Rude & Racist Salespeople

Richard K.

I went there to pick up a Nikon digital camera for my dad today for the Black Friday Sale because he insisted that I go there even though I pointed out to him that even regular, non-discount prices at online retailers (NewEgg, Amazon, etc.) were cheaper than this store's advertised Black Friday "deals."

When we got there, none of the salesmen greeted us or offered any help (perhaps because we were not WASPs like their regulars). The store was practically empty and it was not busy at all. We asked a man with a gray beard for help but he said that he's not familiar in that department even though he was standing right behind the digital camera counter doing nothing. He asked another gentleman standing right next to him to help us, but he seemed very reluctant. Then a few seconds later, as some teenage-looking salesman walked by, the first two guys got him to help us instead. This salesman acted unprofessionally and kept on nibbling on his Chex Mix as he answered our questions in a manner that implied that he was disinterested in our business.

My dad does not like shopping online even if he could save a few bucks, but because of the way these people were acting, it convinced him that it would be best to buy the camera online instead of giving this store our business.

This might just be an instance of racial profiling; if you are not a racial minority, you can probably disregard this review.

Ratings_icons A bit pricey

The price of developing negatives is a little bit expensive than other store. I think it is because they really have a good quality of printing. You might want to check it out if you really like photography. This store has everything, from tripod to video camera.

I love this camera store. While film processing is more expensive than chain store processing, it's so much better and worth it. The sales staff is incredibly knowledgable as well, so it's a great place to learn about photography and camera types.
