I have been going to them for years. They are honest and friendly. Yes you do need to call ahead because they are busy but when my car has broken down and I need to have it towed they always take it without making me wait.

My fiancee had noticed a sudden increase in the braking noise of our Subaru. As the brake pads had been replaced only a year (5000 miles) before, it could have been a serious problem.

I called All Rite Auto to make an appointment, but most of their workers were going to be gone the next day. They kindly offered to fit me in early in the morning while they were doing the morning maintenance. The brakes turned out to be fine - they said the pads were simply noisy, and while they could be replaced, the current ones had more than half their life remaining. I opted to keep the existing ones, and they charged nothing for the brake inspection. Candid advice and excellent service. I will definitely return for any future car problems.

I just left All Rite Auto for the first time. I had a small problem with my car (a large shield that somehow came unscrewed from the bottom) but was concerned about driving it. Based on the reviews on this website, I called All Rite just before 7:00 this morning and was told to come in "the sooner the better". They're very close to where I live so I went over right away. I'm not sure which mechanic it was, but he re-attached the shield. While I was waiting, I asked his mom (incredibly nice woman who runs the office) if I could make an appointment for an oil change. The mechanic said that he had time to do that now, too. So, $29 for an oil change, no charge for re-attaching the shield. I can't believe it. I wish I'd found out about them 3 years ago when I first moved here instead of dealing with the lying thieves at Boston Volkswagen for all this time!

Car broke down twice in one week. I'm not familiar with the area and took it to another place the first time. They didn't fix the problem and didn't seem to care when it reoccured 4 days later. When I got it towed the second time I chose All Rite Auto. They took the time to really check what could possibly be causing the problem (the first shop didn't do this), found the problem, and fixed it. Granted, it was a pretty easy fix, but they seem very honest and were super affordable. They have funny hours (open early, close early), and you should call ahead!

All Rite Auto is an excellent local Auto Repair shop on Medford Street, very near the Twin City Plaza. You typically need to call ahead to make an appointment about two days in advance, but they have always done an excellent job in fixing my cars quickly and at a reasonable cost. I once had an accident causing $3,000 worth of damage to my car, but they still managed to fix it within a week. They are very convenient to East Cambridge.

PROS: Friendly, Economical
CONS: Need to call a day or two in advance
