Will Charles Salon

I've been in Boston for a little over 3 years, and prior to going to Will Charles, had yet to find a hair stylist that I liked enough to go back to again. I had tried a handful of Newbury St salons, most of which were undeservedly over-priced. After hearing about Will Charles Salon from Groupon I decided to give it a try, but wasn't expecting much. Patrick cut my hair, and I was asking for a risky hair change that could have ended up disastrous given he had never cut my hair before. WOW, was I pleasantly surprised. He did exactly what I asked for and envisioned, and it was like he had been cutting my hair for years. I now have a super chic, stylish haircut that provokes nearly daily compliments and am more than happy to say that I've been back to Patrick....twice. I would pay more for his haircut and not think twice, but another great benefit is that haircuts are only $55.

Summary: the salon is the best on Newbury and Patrick rocks out uber-chic cuts!

Billy and Erik have transformed the old Runway Salon into an exciting new endeavor: Will Charles Salon! The talent is still top-notch and now the environment is more positive and friendly than ever. I had the keratin treatment done with Billy and my hair feels better than it ever has!!

I've been coming here for several years now and have my hair done by Billy and Erik. I am always happy with my hair but the change of atmosphere is just icing on the cake :) LOVE THEM!!!

Since Billy and Erik formed Will Charles Salon, the atmosphere at 11 Newbury Street has really turned around. I have been going to this salon for almost four years and the change is dramatic since Nino left. Everyone is so friendly and the place is so inviting. Billy has been doing my color this entire time and I have the most natural blonde highlights. I get a lot of compliments and I always enjoy my experience.

Will Charles Salon occupies the space at 11 Newbury st. formerly housing Runway Salon. Although some of the same stylists work here, it is not affiliated in any way with Runway Salon. Nino is gone!

I got a hair cut and style at this salon on Newbury Street on short notice. Just happened to be walking on Newbury and walked in to see by chance if they could take me. Great place. Excellent service. Nice, relaxing shampoo. The best hair cut I've gotten so far.

I got the best hair cut of my life from Haley at this hair salon on Newbury Street. Just happened to be surfing the net and found this salon. I thought to myself, I should try it and so I did! The best hair cut of my life (and I'm not that young)! Haley was really nice, friendly and personable. She listened to what I wanted, made a few suggestions and went from there. She's excellent. Recommended.

The only reason I went to Runway was to follow a particular hair stylist whom I've been going to for some time now. When she ever told me that she was leaving I simply said, "Where do I go?"

Helen was always a talented stylist and now given the right tools in the right atmosphere she allowed to develop her skills and talents even further.

Without trying to sound to dramitic, the over all treatment and my haircut was simply one of the best.

Runway certainly made an excellent descision by hiring Helen. They've got my business....

If you are looking for a flawless haircut this salon is your first and last stop! I had my hair cut and colored and it still looks like I just stepped out of the salon. I was truly happy with my services and have never been more impressed. Lovely decor, fabulous people! Try Nino and/or Billy!

I've been to salons in Boston, the north shore and the south shore areas and this salon is my fave. I've had my hair done 2 times at this salon and I liked it both times. I would recommend booking an appointment with Hayley or Eric. Both have cut my hair there and both times I walked out of there happy with the way my hair looked and felt. The price was reasonable too.

this salon is absolutely gorgeous. the look and feel is urban and chic, not to mention i just got a fabulous haircut and foil here. after doing some research on the best salons i booked an appointment. wow am i ever happy. i love my hair and am happy with everything about this salon. the hours are great, i went after work and they were able to book me a late appointment which was really nice of them. it's close to the t. the people are really nice here and the hairstylists i had were meticulous and total pros.

I had my hair done at Runway Hair Salon and it's really, really amazing!!!
I was adventurous and decided to go for a totally new look. Above shoulder length, with lots of long layers. (My hair used to be down near my waist). So happy I cut my hair!
Going back next month to get highlights. Can't wait!!! This salon has alot of promo offers and savings. I got a gift certificate offer for the next time I go back to have my highlights. This salon is worth trying. For sure.

How did I miss this salon? Absolutely loved my haircut at Runway! I have tried so many salons in Boston, up and down Newbury Street and have finally found a great stylist who knows how to cut hair! I'm not sure about other people's experience here but mine was great. My hairstylist was Nino. Originally I had booked an appointment to see Eric but he wasn't available. My hair looks the best it has ever been! I'm glad I tried this salon.

Last week I decided to cut about 12 inches off my hair (donated to Locks of Love, see below). Made an appointment at Runway after reading reviews here. The salon was modern and minimalist, with no excessive or frou-frou decorations that would have made me feel out of place. I'm the epitome of low-maintenance. I wanted something that I could wash and go, no styling necessary. I spend less than 5 minutes on my hair in the morning. Nino listened to my requests: no color or highlights, no curling or straightening, nothing that requires blow-drying, nothing that requires "product", nothing that would get in my eyes, but still fun and feminine and pretty. An hour later, I had a beautiful haircut with funky texture and minimal effort required. When I asked Nino how to style it in the morning to preserve the look, his response was, "Just mess it up." How perfect!

If you go: Visit their web site and print out the coupon for new customers -- you'll get a top-notch haircut for $25. Although they do not send hair to Locks of Love, they are happy to cut your ponytail according to the guidelines so that you can mail it yourself. This hair salon is the best ! I just had my hair cut and styled there. What a fantastic salon. My hair is very, very fine and flat. My hairstylist, Nino was excellent. He added so much volume to my hair. I'm very, very happy. I would recommend booking an appointment to have your hair cut by Nino at this hair salon. Unbeatable talent and service

Runway is my new favorite salon in Boston. Eric cut my hair and he is fantastic. He's a total sweetheart and he did a really fantastic job. I love my cut and he really listened and talked to me about how he was going to cut my hair before he cut it. Everyone working there was really helpful and I LOVE that they're open until eight so I can come after work. I will definitely be back again.

The stylist couldn't have been less interested in cutting my hair. he spent all of 8 minutes doing it and it looked nothing like what I wanted. he didn't even use any product before styling. I'm sorry but the words : " When clients first come to me, I see at them on the outside, but really learn from them, and their styling desires by listening to what they feel on the inside. Their thoughts and insights, and their trust inspires me. And from it comes an understanding that drives my creativity, and pushes me to the leading edge of the art." is a bunch of garbage. I saw no inspriation in his work, and he barely spoke 2 words to me. How can you possibly understand what your client wants if you don't even speak to them???
I'm glad everyone else loves this place and was happy with their service. I got something that looks like it came out of supercuts, and paid top dollar. what a joke.

I love my haircut that I got done at Runway Salon. My hair looks and feels 10 x better. It was a fine solution to the horrible mess I had going on. I took my friend's advice and decided to book an appointment. Alot can be said for a great haircut. It's made all the difference to me already. I've received alot of compliments. Quite impressive, so much so that I booked a followup appointment in 6 weeks. Great salon.

I scheduled an appointment for hair color and highlights at Runway Salon. For years I have been too chicken to color my hair but I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. What an awesome haircut I got by Nino at this salon. I read the reviews all over City Search and decided to give this hair salon a shot. Fantastic!! My hair is rather short and wavy and I could never find a stylist who could cut it and style it the way I like it. Well now I finally have...thanks to great tools like City Search.

I recently moved to Boston from NYC and have had such a hard time finding a salon with any style here...till I went to Runway Salon. This hair salon is gorgeous. Modern, stylish, contemporary, just beautiful! They did a great job at coloring and cutting my hair. I had appointments with Billy for color and Nino for haircut. I absolutely love it! In NYC, I usually get my hair colored and cut at Roy Teeluck Salon on 57th Street (which I recommend for anyone going to NYC). Billy and Nino did an equally as good job a Roy (at a far lesser price). Really love this salon!

I went to Runway Salon for my hair cut by Eric. He's a good hairstylist and very nice. He was very friendly and nice to talk to. He offered me some input as to how I could style my hair at home so I could upkeep my nice salon styled look. His service was the best of the best. He gave me the best shampoo and hair cut I have experienced for quite some time. I'm very happy.

I was initially excited to come.. However, during my phone call to book an appointment with this salon, I mentioned that I had one of their promotional coupons and they hung up on me. I called back 2 times within the next 5 minutes and got their answering machine. I then called again and the receptionist was extremely rude to me. If this is their initial manner in which they treat their customer, I would not trust them with my hair. I'm beginning to think that some of the previous good reviews might have been written by their own staff... I'm now so disappointed in this salon, and to think that I was initially was so excited to go... oh well, too bad for them...

I had my hair cut for the first time from Nino at Runway Salon. All my friends love my hair! I got so many compliments. I absolutely love it! It's a much needed improvement for me. My hair has been so plane jane for too long. I finally decided why not try something new. One of the girls in my yoga class said she gets her hair done at Runway Salon so I decided to try it. The salon is conveniently located around the corner from the Arlington T Stop so it's easy to get to. From the moment I got off the elevator the staff were really friendly. The receptionists were nice. Nino's assistant Jamie took care of me from the moment I entered until the time I checked out. It was a great salon experience for me and a change that I needed badly. Thanks to Nino and his gracious staff I am no longer looking and feeling blah. I will go back again.

Runway Salon is amazing. I had my hair colored and styled with a flat iron. It looks amazing. The service is great. Nino styled my hair. Billy colored it. I didn't have an appointment. I decided on a whim to get my hair done and stopped in at this salon. They were courteous enough to accomodate me and even stayed late. The service is great. The location is excellent. The hours are convenient.

Runway salon is excellent. I had my hair colored and cut at this salon and I'm very happy. I saw Nancy for my hair color and Erik for my hair cut. I'm happy with the color Nancy suggested. I thought she was very knowledgeable and attentive. So far this has been the best service I have received at a salon and for the first time my hair looks very shiny, healthy and full. I will be going to this salon from now on. They sell Kerastase products too. These are excellent products. I recommend the hair mask. Erik suggested it and it really works.

What else can I say about this salon except that ...WOW...it's just totally amazing!! Loved everything about it. The location, the decor, the service...everything was totally excellent!! I had a full highlight, a conditioning and repair treatment and a haircut. Totally awesome. Recommend hair services by Nino and Nancy.

Runway was my best haircutting/styling experience thus far in Boston. I was greeted so kindly when I first entered by Jamie who took care of me for the first half (hair washing etc). Nino then cut my hair; and let me just say that, he is so skilled with haircutting. First and foremost, he asked and actually listened to what I wanted for my hair (something that many boston hairstylists fail to do), and he did such a great job. (FYI: I basically asked for long layers, face framing angles in the front, and do something to add volume at the crown). He's got a great personality as well. Lastly, Nancy (who also does color i heard) dried my hair, and she was also another kind staff member! The crew is a lot of fun. The haircut looks fabulous! Coming from nyc, Ifinally found a place that can match up (also, with prices being good compared to nyc outrageousness!). And its super convenient from the arlington T stop.

I've been up and down Newbury looking for a hair salon that can just do my hair the way I like it. I found that from Nino at Runway Hair Salon. He's great. I explained what I wanted and I got what I wanted. I love my hair. It's never looked better. Overall the salon is very good. Customer service is great. I had the most soothing head massage and perfect shampoo. The location is perfect too with valet parking just across the street. I really like my hair and will definitely be going to Runway on Newbury from now on. I recommend it.

I recommend having your hair done at Runway Salon. I had a balayage and a hair cut and I love how the stylists Billy & Nino did my hair. My color is nice and vibrant and my hair cut is amazing. Awesome job!
