Have delt with them over a long time and always have had good experiences. Have worked with four of their doctors and most of the support crew at various times. Of special note, they were also very good for a recent sudden emergency on a Saturday. My otherwise healthy young pure-bred cat was unexpectedly in serious danger due to an adverse food reaction causing life threatening complications. They took me right in, were very smart and essentially saved its life. As for the critics below, they sound a bit jaded and not realistic. Remember no one can please everyone all the time and just being a vet is very difficult, complex work to deliver consistently effective each day to every single differing breed of pet, stressed owner, and specific problem, again and again over hundreds or thousands of unique individual cases a year. In response, I feel they do try hard to find a best solution for your pet, please you at the same time and are very good at what they do, as a rule. And that is a lot harder to do than it looks.

I don't know what's up with these other reviews, but having had two pets with terminal illnesses cared for at South Bay Veterinary Group, I can say that in many office visits and worried phone calls I have had only good experiences, particularly in difficult circumstances.

"Specialists" had recommended putting one pet down immediately "because she was suffering" even thought she seemed ok, if a bit unwell, outwardly.

After consultation with one of the docs there, who spent a good deal of time researching her case and bugging the specialists for the info they forgot to tell him or me, he was able to give me very good advice. My pet has lived so far 15 weeks past that date, and is doing quite well. She won't live forever, but these doctors gave my pet and me a lot of quality time together.

I also had to have another pet put down and did it there. They were very good about it.

The office staff have also taken a good deal of time to help in very trying circumstances.

I have seen some pretty harsh customers in that office -- those of you with issues, try being nice to everyone around you, and see if that changes things.

Former client. The vets and staff are very cold. They come across as if they think they are superior. They were even rude to my pet's surgeon's office when they called to have medical records faxed to them. That spoke volumes! Bring your furry friends elsewhere!

I have to say they have no heart for animals & they are very insensitive- I took my dog for a blood test and all the doctor could say to me is"he is just a dog" my dog had eaten poision - He was not helpfull at all- NEVER WILL I GO BACK!

The doctors at South Bay Veterinary Group off Tremont Street in Roxbury are very skilled in their trade. Though they have limited resources as far as medical emergencies for your pet go, they are very efficient in making sure the care of your animal is outsourced to the correct people. I bought my cat in when it was very sick, and they made sure that I understood what was going on and all of my options for treating the animal. They were very friendly and well-priced for the area as well.

They have been here for years they are the best people you would want to have when you own a pet they know what is wrong before they examine your dog. Best Best people.

I took my dog for a ride to my work while I picked up paperwork one day and he became lethargic and was breathing shallow. I took him to South Bay Veterinary Group and they were great. They took him right in and did a very thorough exam. It turned out that he was allergic to something he ate. They watched him for a while and when he was feeling better they let me take him home. They were great with my dog. So kind and friendly. I highly recommend them.
