I've stayed in a few hotels, but nothing beats the friendliness of this staff. It is seen when employees pass one another and clearly in the staff culture. I was greeted by a smiling and genuine doorman and a cheerful front desk staff. From there it only got better. When I looked lost looking for the gym a staff member promptly walked me to the gym, not just gave me directions. It was all in all a very refreshing experience. Definitely going back!

Ratings_icons Charles Hotel Harvard Square

Our room had a nice view of the river. The location of this hotel can't be beat. The staff here were neither very friendly nor courteous. This hotel definitely isnt luxurious. It's not too bad of a place if you just need a place to sleep (the bed is actually pretty comfortable). The room we stayed in was quite small, but relatively clean. The decor wasn't very impressive. Amenities are basic. Parking is expensive.

Ratings_icons Great base for visiting people at Harvard

My husband and I were impressed with this hotel for it's convenient location and what we felt was reasonable value (we were staying outside of term time - I'm sure their rates are much higher when school's in session). Nice views and adequate facilities, with a few quaint New England touches like patchwork quilts & shaker-inspired furniture. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone; I don't recall whether parking was included in our rate but was very convenient - and anyone who has ever tried to park near Harvard Square knows this can be invaluable. Note that this is not a hugely luxurious hotel, but certainly on the higher-end in terms of comfort & style.

PROS: Great location, reasonable off-season rates

Ratings_icons Now that's a hotel

This hotel has a nice view and best location. It is close to all companies and universities. The staff is first class. The room is superb. It's a perfect hotel! The location is superb, near Harvard and MIT. It is also close to shopping centers and restaurants. The room view is beautiful. We had a great time on vacation here. Well, the cost is a bit high, but definitely worthwhile.

Ratings_icons Nice hotel, good location

The rooms are very nice at this hotel and you can get some with nice views of the Charles River and Boston. The hotel is very expensive though, like everything else in Harvard Square. The Hotel has two restuarants and a few bars, salon, & Spa. If you have some extra money to spend this is a beautiful hotel in a great location, if you are trying to save some money just look a mile away and you are sure to find a better deal.

Ratings_icons Lovely place

THis is a very beautiful hotel, in a great location, and with great amenities. It has several very good restaurants in its complex, including Henrietta's Table, the fantastic (and expensive) Rialto, and Legal Seafood. It is quietly elegant, very interesting design, not just a rectangular box like many other buildings.

Ratings_icons Beautiful and Convenient

Charles Hotel is a stunning hotel. In fact, it's a whole COMPLEX, with fantastic restaurants, and in the winter, even an ice skating rink. You walk through the front door and are greeted by classic muted colors, nice chairs, and helpful staff. Henrietta's Table, Rialto, and Legal Seafood are some of the delectable (and expensive) restaurants right inside the hotel complex. The location is great, right in Harvard square, but not too loud.
