I'd never been to this spa before; I'm from out of state and was recommended by a friend in the area. Overall, a good experience. The receptionist was very pleasant and nice, she had short dark hair and made me laugh a lot. I had a massage and a facial, and both girls who did the services (Jessica and Dody) were skilled and really friendly. Both very mellow and nice to talk to. I left feeling wonderful!

I visited Ochoa Day Spa for the first time last week after receiving a gift certificate from my husband for my birthday. My first stop was a great steam shower that lasted about 15-20 minutes. There were some great smelling products in there and a comfy robe when I was done. I had an hour massage with a girl named Dody, and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. She was professional and took about five minutes beforehand to understand my personal needs. It was a great massage, she has a nice relaxing touch. I was then led right across the hall for a facial by Jessica. She carried my clothes and offered me some water before we began (which I accepted). She also took the time to instruct me on what to put on and where to lie...head facing up, she joked, since I had never had a facial before. She was funny and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole service. I decided to upgrade to a Vitamin C and seaweed facial which was excellent, especially the massage with the great smelling "serums". She also gave me some samples and i bought a nice facial scrub, which has really made my skin feel soft. Overall I'd have to say that I've never felt more relaxed and refreshed after leaving somewhere, and I'll certainly be back soon. I think next time I'll bring in my husband and show him exactly how great I felt.

I found the staff at Ochoa Day Spa in South Hadley friendly and accommodating. I had a very relaxing pedicure and a great massage. I found both of the girls I had to be very focused on my needs and made me feel at home. I would recommend this spa highly.

I recently had a facial there and a very different experience. She took the time to ask me questions about my skin & was very through in explaining the different services and what the effect would be on my skin. The massage part was great (the girl I saw is a former massage therapist). I felt as though she were focused on me and my skin care needs.

After reading the last review im pretty sure i had the same girl do my facial, and i was also pretty unsatisfied. Throughout the whole facial all she did was try to upgrade me to one add on or another, and when i didn't go for the "Cavier facial" i was quickly dismissed for 20 minutes and wasn't even given a neck massage! She kept telling me how she worked at Sephora and to come get products and makeup there, because apparently the makeup at Ochoa was "god aweful" It just felt weird being there, as if because i didn't want to spend $200 on a facial, i wasn't worth her time. I have to say though, ive had other services over the past couple years and they were all great, expecially the body wraps and pedicures. I will go back, but i will certainly ask for someone else.

I totally disagree with this other review. I am what you would call a spa junky. I have been to many many many spas throughout the Northeast and Caribbean and I must say that the customer service at this spa ranked among the worst. I brought my mother here for a spa day for her birthday. Upon arrival the receptionist simply showed us where the waiting area was. No offer of water, tea, or coffee that was clearly set out in the waiting area. No mention of a place to change or where to store our belongings. I began with a facial. The products seemed nice and the room was comfortable but the facial left much to be desired. The woman doing my facial spent more time out of the room then in. No exaggeration - she was IN the room only 25 minutes of the hour long facial. She spent most of that time trying to sell me products or a facial up grade. No warm hand mits. No foot massage. No shoulder massage. My mother experience the same thing. The in between time from one service to another was awkward. The was not real direction of where to go or where to sit and we were left to shlep all of our belongings around with us. The only high point was that my massage was awesome!!All in all I would not go back and have passed the word to my friends. If you spend over $500 at a place you expect to be pampered. This place (after the recent change in ownership) is seriously lacking in pampering. The employees spent most of their time openly gossiping and complaining about each other.

Very disappointed. I received a gift certificate for this place for my birthday. I supposed to have an appointment for my hot stone massage with my friend (Swedish massage) at the same time, but, they called me a day (less than 24 hours) before to cancel my scheduled appointment. When I showed up for my rescheduled appointment, the girl doing my massage was late, I was waiting at least 15 minutes, the girl at the front desk told me just wait without even saying sorry. By the time the massage therapist finally showed up, she must be in a rush to heat up the hot stones. When she put the hot stones on my body, they were burning me. All she did was trying to hurry to finish me for her next appointment. I almost didn't want to tip her! I would not go back again for sure.

This is the best day spa in the area by far. Right across the street from Mount Holyoke College they really know how to paper you. Every treatment I have had has been so relaxing. I can't wait to go back

This is right across the street from Mount Holyoke College and thus it is one of the only hair places and day spas within walking distance of the college. They certainly know they can get away with charging a little more than they should be able to because they are so convenient to so many college women who do not have cars or who do not want to sit on the bus for hours to get a hair cut. But, this place is good and there is no denying that. The people are friendly and they are very good at all that they do. I have gotten several hair cuts there and have always been happy. Many of my friends also used some of their other services such as waxing and were always pleased with the results. The place is clean and if you do drive over here, the parking is plentiful in the back of the shopping area. Overall very good.
