Whether it be an antipasto salad, grilled chicken sub, or a pizza, pretty much everything is good, cheap, made to order, and served fast. How many affordable places can you eat at 2-4 times a week for years and not get tired of? This is the only one I've found. If you work anywhere near the center of town, the Merrimac House of Pizza is pretty much a staple for lunch.
I have been eating here since I was a kid. My parents have been eating here since they were kids. They been around this long for a reason. Even When I moved 4 cities away I still took the long drive to come down and get my pizza from Merrimac house. I can feed my family of 5 for the same price it would cost to get just one plan pizza anywhere else.
House of pizza is a family owned business that has not changed since the day they opened there doors. My parents eat there, I eat there, when I pass I know my kids will be eating there and my grand kinds will too.
Great price, great food, great service, great people running the place. Make a pizza in 15 mins no matter how busy they are. No pizza place in the world comes close. I spent 4 years in Italy and I missed Merrimac house the whole time I was there. Best pizza in the world.
Pros: Everything you can think of
Cons: No dilivery
Although they probably could rate all 5 stars, we can't exactly give them full credit. Merrimac house of pizza absolutely does have the cheapest pizza around (Large - Pain Cheese Only), and as far as waiting-time; they have it perfected! (Call in, and the guy will tell you some odd ball number like 14 minutes).
A few BIG downsides to their business has them loosing the one potential star that they should have. If your looking for delivery, better look else ware... because they do not offer it. Have a credit card? Don't plan on using that here, they still remain in the dust -old fashion style (cash ONLY). Have the midnight munchies? Don't even bother calling that late, not even if it's a late Friday night (they wont be open!). A regular cheese pizza is not very tasteful, but is certainly a GREAT deal for the price. Big menu above the counter says that a Large cheese is $6.00 (and its been that way forever) but they only charge you $4.00 and .50 for tax, totaling a whopping $4.50.. not to shabby.
Someday, maybe they will get out of the stone age offering more services.. but they are always swamped for a reason.. now why change that? right?
I have lived in Merrimac all of my life and have been going here since before I can remember. The people are great, the service is fast, the food is excellent, and its the best value you will ever find.
Try to beat 4.50 for a large cheese pizza(and it tastes the way pizza was meant to be )
Pros: Value, Great people, spectacular food
